Geez Griff I wish I had only seen that many and it would be nice if we could get someone to remove them. We have two local volunteeers but by the time they get out here they would have hidden somewhere. They also work in other jobs

Once I realised it was from overseas I groaned as well I must admit! The food its self seems okay no wheat, meat first ingredient etc. One has Barley. But the lamb one has some fish and turkey etc so I am guessing that is why they can transition easily as although the ingredients are different, they are similar enough.

Lewis growled at my then 2 year old. Why??? I had been in the kitchen and he was just outside my vision. He was laying on Lewis driving a toy motorbike up and down his ribs. Child got a smack on the bum and time out. The poor dog got left in peace. There have been no further issues as I kept a much more watchful eye but the child learnt pretty quickly. My dogs would be horrified if a kid did that and the parents would have ringing ears after a tounge lashing - no rude words of course as there was kids present. Bloody idiots.

Yep it does worry me a bit too. I wish someone down here that has reasonable pricing would stock an Australian Super premuim food.

I have never had a dog out of 8 individuals within 4 breeds ever have a problem - as yet. Not sure why we don't do anything in particular? We just carry on as per normal and pay no extra attention to the storm or do anything differnt with the dogs. I have been VERY close to a lightening strike twice once causing ringing ears and a headache for a few hours with hair prickling on my neck at the moment it happened so I am inside when there is lightning!

Hi Ptolomy just wondering if you got my PM????

The only other choices down here are Advance, Science diet or Eukanuba, so this was a pleasant suprise! Although the stockist is expensive on most things so I am guessing this will be the same.

http://www.rotationspetfood.com/default.aspx Saw it today for the first time. Apparently it is having an international launch in JAn 2011 - or so I was told. The ingredients seem okay and probably one of the best food I have seen for sale down here. Anyone tried it??? Have just been reading up. It is an American food so have asked them about irradiation. Will ask on another forum that has many American people on it what they think.

Rare Or Disqualifed Colours In Breeds.

For those dogs people are questioning I imagine it would now be possible to DNA test for that??? or can you only DNA test for parentage?? -
I lost an I-Squeak to Bandy creek! The tide was low, so dropped down very quickly and the wind was going in the wrong direction, Rommi barrelled in after it and then decided very quickly to get out. Even Lewis who won't get his feet wet thought about it, but I didn't want to be trying to save him so stopped him. I am ordering lots more so it won't matter soon

Comon Things People Dont Realise About Your Breed
OSoSwift replied to MonElite's topic in General Dog Discussion
Agree. A lot of folk also assume that any high prey drive dog will harm their kiddies too - not so. I tired of people (some with their own sighthounds) tell me that Whippets are somehow untrainable. That's rubbish. Sure they ain't Border Collies but they can be trained. I agree, my Whippet have been easoier to train than my Dobes ever were. Whippets are highly trainable you just have to go about it the right way -

That Whippets needs lots of exercise. I have had many people say they like the look of Whippets but would have one as they require so much exercise. Um no, the can go really fast but not for a long period of time. Lewis is one of the most active I know and even he get tired reasonable quickly. He is happy after half an hours walk, but does prefer a couple of hours exercise. Rommi is an hour and then she is flaked. They are also very laid back in the house - of course training come into it, but they don't necessarily want to zooma round the house all day. -
That would be heaven :D She was my first dog after moving out of home. Not the worlds best specimen of a Rotti but we loved her.

Oh Cas,How hard for you to come home and have a big space with no Jake in it. I have had a dog with Bloat and it is horrific to say the least. I am bawling my eyes out just reading your wonderful and heartfelt posts. He was loved like no other.
