Creative Spelling And Pronunciation For Breeds.

I'd just recovered from Lousy Aspros & laughing fit to crack ribs. Now this! I have to agree those are pearlers! I have had Whippits and Devo dogs........and the OH wondered why there was no way any of my Whippets would ever be called Devo!!! -
Sue's sitting in the chair method is how I started Rory with the DB - mind you, he is a dog who loves to carry stuff around - selects a toy du jour every morning, and has always been happy to give and take. But the Sue H chir method worked a treat - and - I have no idea how - but I had a lovley happy DB retrieve in a very short time. He's now also happy with his new leather seekback article, the SD articles, and a glove - just did that one last week. I am so blessed with this boy - must be the West Australian thing That was how I got my 4yo Dobe to do Dumbell after we had been shown a different method that made the dumbell totally aversive. It worked once she got the idea she came ahead in leaps and bounds and got her CDX which I had never thought would be possible due to her reaction to even seeing the dumbell!

What is the correct pronounciation for those, took me long enough to get the Mali's right! -
Excellent, you are part of the way there if he happily picks up the metal articles.

Either the depth of the hole isn't deep enough or the size of the plug is too big for the size of the hole. Can't be anything else The plug should reasonably easily into the hole, ie not loose, but not so tight you really have to belt it in there.

I think I like that particular Bunnings!

Don't fight it Ness........you can never win!.....................................

Thinks we need to start Bunnings anonymous!

I have Petplan and while I haven't made any huge claims I have made a few smaller ones. I get a letter to say they have recieved my claim and that it is being looked at. Once I had a letetr saying they had recieved my claim and they were experienceing delays. They send me a cheque fairly quickly and I have never had any issues that way. My policies did go up aroud $20 one year but have been teh same for the last two despite having some claims submitted and paid. One of the things I really liked was you get paid out uo to your yearly cover in each poilcy period regardless of the condition. They are covered for any re-occuring conditions for life up to your amount each year. That is what swayed me to useing them, even though they were a little more expensive thatn some others. I mainly have it to cover big things so I prefer the $100 excess per condition rather than 80% of say $5000 is more appealing to me. Having Whippets I worry about major stitch ups and broken bones as they go so fast and have been known to run into things! Also we have LOTS of snakes so treatment for snake bite is a real possiblity.

Ptolomy I fully understand your excitement - when I look through our reciepts from Buynnings I find two or more from consecutive days, or even two different trips in one day My name is OSoSwift and we are addicted to bunnings........................... Lovely horse there Mirawee, how come she landed in your paddock? Brutus has been on Pred every second day for I think around 3 years now. It is for his spine but he has shocking skin allergies as well so it helps both problems. He was in bliss today in the crate ont eh back of the ute driving around checking cows. I even think he was smiling!

What an excellent site - thank you - although I am sure my Credit Card won't like it much!

WA people I am looking for some scent disrimination articles, can someone let me know where I can get some please

I personally would feed Optimum (available from the supermarket) before I fed Hill's I believe you are paying a high price for supermarket quality food. I have been feeding Black Hawk for a month or so and I have one who did okay on what he was being fed but did a fair amount of poo. Now he has small firm poo's like the other dogs, their condition is great and there are no bikkies left at the of dinner time.

I would initially just crate her. She can move around a little later but in the beginning you need her very quiet. You needed to do the surgery and I am very sorry that this has happened, you couldn't have left her how she was. DOgs are resilient little creatures and although she will look sad for a little while when you keep her very confined, on the scheme of things weeks in a crate is only a very small portion of her lifetime. Send Whippet cuddles to you all.

Brutus is going great with no signs of anything untoward - thank goodness. He got left over rice pudding for being so clever. His life revolves around eating Suppose he can't really help it when he is on pred every second day for his spine!

Poor little babies, shame on them for not having the basic neccessities for raising puppies.

Whippets prod quite firmly with pointy, cold, wet noses! Oh and stick them up the back of your shorts as well

Had a very entertaining half hour listening to some people a few gazebo's down trying to figure out how to say the Xolo's name. I was going to give them correct pronounciation (thanks Wazzat for having it in your sig) but was having more fun listening to their bad attempts! -
I Overheard An Interesting Conversation
OSoSwift replied to GoldenGirl85's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well I have heard quite a few people refer to them as Chinese (I think) fighting dogs so maybe that is why?? They think Pitty's are banned so any other "fighting" dog is as well??? Not sure but whatever it takes to keep them from wrecking any other purebreeds! -
Yip - we also all know there are sharks at the beach but we all still swim there hehehe I don't swim there much either and only when I can see crystal blue water quite a way out. Doesn't help that at a local popular swimming beach a snorkeller got his catch bag taken by a shark when he was hanging onto it!!! I think I prefer walking along the beach somehow!
-
Personally I am not really fond of any sharks so would stay well out of there!
-
Yep I remember doing caoeing on the Swan at school when we all had to bail out because of a fin sighting. Still went swimming and canoeing there though. There are always snakes here too, even in winter two warm days and they are out and cranky!
-
SHarks up there, snakes down here - lots of deadly things around these parts!

I tend to find the Whippets attract young kids and people around 50 and over who have had one as a kid or a family emember did. Seems Whippets and crosses were much more popular when people of my dad's generation were growing up in farming areas. Had someone the other day gushing over them and saying he loves them and would love to have another one. I held onto them firmly cause I think he would have loved to tuck one under his arm and abscond! He is around the same age as my dad. They love it when my dad comes as he just dotes on them and I hear all about his when he was a kid.

Poor Old Staffords Being Dragged Around In The Heat
OSoSwift replied to jadesamara's topic in General Dog Discussion
I see it here as well and I hate to see it. There is no way I would walk my old boy when it is hot, he can't go far on a normal day and melts in the heat. I would never walk the whippets either when it is hot, they melt as well.
