  1. Hmmm, oh well, Onwards and upwards, oh and add that judge to the not to be repeated list :D If he is working that well, you will do great over your next two
  2. Our old Stafford is great with other dogs, he did get into a fight as a 5yo after a dog harassed him until he snapped - I wasn't there - and it did take a little retraining after that, but got back to normal. Even so I am also wary around Bull breeds and their apparent crosses because most people have no idea what their dog is saying and my breed can be easily injured. I have also owned Dobes and Rotti's and I am also a little warya round them for the same reason.
  3. Well Brutus was named by my Husband, he is big and boofy so it suited. His full title - Brutus Boofhead Beefcake. That suited him as well as he is not the sharpest tool in the shed! Rommi - her rego'd name is Lil Sea Urchin, we live in the Bay Of Isles, so I wanted something to do with the sea, Romi is Welsh for sea mist, added the extra M and we got Rommi. Lewis was already named when he came to us at 8 months, but it was one I had voted on out of the 4 that were short listed for him as a baby puppy, so when he came there was no way I was changing it
  4. That is very harsh for a couple of missed positions in CCD Murve. My boy missed one or two - can't remember and got 97 over all. Hopefully the next one is better Trina I have most things on your list, but not a spare bike!! I don't have the groovy shorts, but do have a 3cm thick gel seat cover I am taking dog coats, blankets, piece of vet bed. If it is really cold Lewis will freeze in the breaks so will need a coat to stop freezing of the dog and cramping potentially. I am being dropped off, but Cath - Rommi's breeder - is coming to cheer us on so I am sure she will be happy to help us. The last one I did by myself. Off to help with the retaining wall again, then to start packing
  5. Hmmm As much as I would love to, I don't get to a lot of shows so that wouldn't be that helpful for you, they sound very warm which you need for down here
  6. Black hawk ingredients are as far as I know
  7. It has sunk in there is less than a week, so I have started making lists of what I need to take with me. I also remembered I hadn't made Lewis's adjustable non-slip collar, so made that tonight as well. One thing off my list We have a trial on the Sunday as well so I am hoping we are not too tired. So many things to remember to pack!
  8. Optimum is a good supermarket food, it is one that has no Wheat in it - so good for dogs with wheat sensitivies. Black HAwk is a good dry food that is middle of the range and also has no wheat or soy
  9. Great News TrinaJ, Now lets hope we pass ours on Saturday I think Lewis will cruise it in, me however that may be another story!
  10. Yep it is a long way, there did used to be one 400kms away, but not any more so its a 1500km round trip or nothing I have heard back, all is well so can stop stressing - thank goodness!!! Yesterday our obedience trainig was terrible, today normal bouncy self, so while I do have some butterflys, they are dissapating. Now for the vet check on Tuesday, pack the car and go!!! Oh and hope Rommi doesn't come into season between now and then - I don't like my chances!!
  11. Yep the sample bags - for the dog food at least - are 1kg I am gettign some of the cat food when I get the next pallet of dog food down.
  12. So very sorry to hear that, run free little man
  13. Sorry Trina it is in WA, I am travelling 750kms from home to Perth, so wouldn't have been contactable on my normal number if they had left it closer to the trial to let us know. I hate being un-organised as well, so having it changed on me only a few days before would stress me out even if it really didn't mean I had to change a heap if you get what I mean. Will ring the GSD club to be sure they ahve my entry though as I still haven't heard back
  14. Wow that sounds horrendous. I had been wondering where you were. Hope you feel much better very very soon. I am sure you will be out of there and trialling again very soon.
  15. I am cautious of most dogs, no I am not scared or worried or necessarily need to cross the street, but I always have my eye on a dog so as to keep reading the situation so I can act very quickly if required. I am most cautious with off lead dogs. Many years ago we had a BYBer pumping out JRT's, they were everywhere. Many people let them off lead and allow themt o run more than a little rampant. My DObe got to the point she would walk on elad very nicely wait until they ran up cloae and pounce. Due to the fact i knew what she was thinking she never made contact, but hom many JRT's was she supposed to put up with running up and either snapping in her face or biting her legs??? Thankfully that person stopped breeding some time ago. I have to say in the last 12 months we have had many of the M X S coming through PPS and their temperments are very unstable to say the least. We have one right now who is a complete sweetie, and another who goes into attack mode if her owner tries to pat her and she is busy and doesn't want him to. Whilst I realise that it most certainly can be owner created, it goes beyond that. There has been at least one if not two M X S or similar in every class that is very unstable and a real potential biting/aggression problem waiting to happen.
  16. Mine worked very well the other day for roast Scotch fillet and suasages :D
  17. Sue rang me back and told me that the venue had changed and is going to double check they got my entries. Thank goodness I found out before I got up there, would have had myself in a huge flap. Apparently it is very flat, which I am quietly happy about as I do hills every day and was hoping to avoid them on the day :D I sent mine on around the 25 or 26th of May. If you could PM me the mans number that would be good though, as then I get it from the horses mouth
  18. Great you got your answer and he will be cured of the problem very shortly.
  19. Yep say thank you automatically. Thought it was very cute to hear my 3 and a half year old politely asking one of the dogs to move then saying thank you with a nice pat. To me it shows manners are automatic - the way I like them. I am sure to the dog they are just blah blah, but it sounds good
  20. I have been trying for 3 or 4 days to ring the contact for the ET to make sure they recieved my entries and have got no answer, I have tried leaving a message and no reply. The entries have now closed so if they haven't recieved them it will be to late to send them again Fingers crossed it is all okay....
  21. all of the above, but people who can forgive a newbie a little mistake here or there, with a smile. It does wonders for a new persons self esteem and confidence.
  22. Yep, I do not allow my children to annoy other people, yell or scream to the utmost best of my ability. When they were younger if they threw a major tantrum that couldn't be stopped they were removed until calmness reigned. I take my dogs with me from time to time to check the mail etc when I am in town. I get lots of positive comments but you don't often see dogs down town. I took the dogs into my sons pre-school for news, they were then crated in the corner of the room with appropriate toilet breaks, while I helped with activities until after lunch and the teacher was more than happy to ahvet them there,
  23. Did 8.3kms this evening at an average of 13kms and he still didn't puff, came home did zoomies with Rommi and raced around like a loonies for half an hour, then he puffed a bit, but only for a few minutes!! I think that is a good sign Just remembered I need to make him a non-slip collar so best I get onto that ASAP!!!
  24. Mine are doing great on it and Wendy is extremely helpful, she gets bags of food to Esperance very quickly as well - although if course not delivered, by freight company
