Try gaiting him next to a bike. Go reasonably fast so he is striding out, but not breaking into a canter (or whatever you call it in a dog!!) worked me for me in the past Oh and not sure if you have done clicker trianing, but when he is trotting at the pace you want, click and throw a treat forward for him to get. you can then put it on cue - say "go" for example when he takes off in a trot, C/T then get him to trot for a little longer then C/T and longer C/T and so on.

Yes I have heard of it. No scientific evidence as yet and some have claimed their dog has survived due to Vit C. Many believe it is because they may have had a "dry" bite so not been envenomated. I would try it if ages from a vet, but not where I am as I can be at a vet quite quickly

Oh and I haven't notice it make my dogs fat at all, I do feed them slightly less, not a substantial amount less. They are quiet active though, not sure if that makes a difference. They are fit and have defined muscle

I am with Petplan and have had no issues. One thing I do like about them is the cover a condition up to the maximum each year, not just once as so many of the others do. My premium has gone up this year, but do has the amount covered. I know that if push came to shove my husband would not be at all happy having to spend thousands on a dogs treatment. This way that is not an issue as it will cost me $100 and the rest is covered up to $10,000

Ours never seemed to go away!!! We have heaps of Magpies and Mickey Minors around. They all go off with their alarmcalls when there are snakes around. Good to know they eat baby snakes

It would cost me far more to titre than to vacc. It costs me more to go trienniel than to go yearly. The mark up on foods in vet hospitals is very minimal and dry dog food was not a huge part of what we sold over the counter. We sold the food we genuinely thought was the best one and Aussie made (and yes my views have changed). There are no kickbacks and cash incentives to sell dog food through a vet hospital

I loved it but also found the bit on the foxes distressing due to their cages. Surely they could great better runs for them than wire cages with no shelter? I realise that there is no way you could get int here with the nasty ones and the runs have wire botooms for faeces etc to fall through, but still I didn't like the conditions.

Having Whippets they can be any colours or markings. While I do have colours I like or see a dog and think I love those markings colour comes way down the list for me. I said it had low importance though not zero as I am not into pure white Whippets, or even mostly white Whippets and pigmentation is something I consider. White eye rims and testicles and vulvas can lead to skin burn issues and having had a dog that I have had sunburn issues with I prefer for it not to be an issue. When I was talking to Rommi's breeder I asked for a bitch, solid in colour (could have white trim, but not more white than colour due to worries about sunburnt bits) What that colour was I didn't care. Blue Brindle parti colours have always been a love of mine. When Lewis became available I fell in love with him and I just happened to get a Blue Brindle parti colour although it wasn't until later I thought hey, I got one Now having been exposed to many of the rainbow of Whippet colours I have many otehr loves, but temperment and conformation will always be most important and the colour last with good pigmentation coming in just above that :D

I think here Rabbits are not protected at all, we only have teeny possums that you rarely see and they look like very cute slightly large mice with very curly tails. I didn't know it was illegal to hunt them in the ACT. Is there much rural land in the ACT? I don't think many would find it very nice to see, and if the park is not off lead - well they shouldn't be. As for the killing of possums - very not cool. Find out what general time they go and ring the Ranger and as them to go down and check it out around the time they are there. I personally have no problem with dogs hunting rabbits. We ahve heaps, they wreck my fences and stock get injured. We bait them and shoot them and if we didn't have so many snakes we would hunt them a whole lot more.

I had two Dobes that did that. One was 8 and did have old age issues, young one was 2. Basically the young one picked at the old one but was always controlled quicklya dn they were never left together when not with me. Then one evening the young one decided to take the old one out. The old one survived - she did have lots of holes - and they were seperated from then on. If they both had to be in the car togetehr they wore basket muzzles and I carried a horse whip. Never had to use the whip, but a couple of times there was growling and it got waved in their general direction and they stopped. Get them checked, but keep them seperate and it may be an indefinate thing.
