I am hoping because I have build up the mega reward and have figured out from last time how to get him past it that this will not affect him as much. Also his last little practice run was nmega rewarded and quite happy although it was the same drill he got hit on and he was a bit slower on one bit of it, but finished well. I have had dogs get in his face a bit before and you just shoo them off and keep going, he doesn't care about that, I think it was the shock and the impact that really rattled him, he didn't know where to turn when he got up.

Yep and it doesn't take much for them to feel threatened.

At dog training today Lewis was doing some jumping drills and has been going just brilliantly and this Lab came from god knows where and took him out. And I mean hit him at top speed and T-boned him straight into the ground, I heard the impact then he got his breathe knocked out. Poor bugger got up, confused and sore, god knows how he wasn't injured worse than he was. I sat there holding him and holding in the swear words and abuse. The woman asked if she had growled at him or was she playing. I very nearly answer does it Fing well make any difference???? She asked if he was okay I said physically yes, mentally I didn't know. It took me 10 weeks of hard work to get him happy about jumping and enjoying it again after i stomped on his toe, and becasue of this dog he may have gone backwards again!!!!!! Once I rested him and make sure he was okay and not sore I got him out and his bad cuz toy (which is the supreme reward) and did a couple of low rounds and he was happy by the end! I didn't say much becasue I was that mad I was holding in the swear words and abuse. I wish I had of said more but I didn't trust myself not to go completely off. He is a soft boy at the best of times so something like this could really knock his confidence. Will be rining to make a appointment with our Bowen lady as soon as I think. It is so bloody frustrating. The dog is unreliable anyway so why she had her off lead and when she wasn't in class working I don't know. He was a bit sore in one back leg but scared more than anything becasue neither of us saw it coming.

Yep it is double jumping one day, double agility the next. I am also doing obedience on the Saturday and showing both of them both days. My friends will probably be interested in doing them though.

I hadn't even thought of that, but no I won't be that mean to them, it will be our first sanctioned agility and jumpers trials, so I think that will be enough for ...me .... I mean them :D Heheheh Chicken :p ooh how exciting! Make sure you get someone to video I was looking forward to Albany in February but now we are going to Bali then (I didn't choose the dates) but RallyValley and I haave decided we will road trip down there next November :D And probably camp, exciting! Not sure if I will get there in Feb as I will probably be working, but will see how we go I would love to, but sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day Video - hmmm not sure about that, not sure if I want evidence of me fallign over or running into a jump
-
I am also showing them both days I am just very thankful I have very nice helpful friends who happily catch the lead of the dog I throw at them

What great Photos Emery they are gorgeous, if I lived closer I would dognap one I have seen baby blankets made in a similar way PF they are very easy to make. they good thing is you can restuff them easily if they go flat as well. Polar fleece is great to work with.. Now my agility and jumpers people, I am after a little help please. I have been reading the latest canine news and was about to do some entries. However the trials (Albany ones) are double header Agility and Jumpers. Do I need a seperate entry form per class or can I put the date and AD and put both the fees on the side and they will know it is for both classes on that day?? the same question for jumpers. The other question, They have $10 for the first entry and then $8 for subsequent. Is this per dog? ie $10 for the first entry for each dog, then $8 per entry for each dog after that? Or $10 for the first regardless how many dogs you are entering. I rang the lady's number but no-one answered and I am a bit impatient I have had a dog in multiple disiplines before but never multiple dogs in multiple disiplines - going to have to get fitter me thinks!

Very sorry to hear that. And yes I too have balled my eyes out over the death of a newborn - and not just of dogs!
-
Very sorry to hear about your boy. Hope they find out what is going on. Do they think it could be something like a bleed on the brain or anything like that?????? Just putting it out there. HUgs to you

What did you stuff it with? A cushion or that white stuffing stuff? Looks great!

I have had Dobes before and quite dominant ones. I have never had one roll over for being growled at??? and when they did get told off I meant it!!! I am thinking he may be playing you a little as well. There are many behaviours he is displaying that are not acceptable. He should not put his head on the lap or near someone who is eating, he should not lean on or "annoy" people that don't like him or want him close. He of course should never pee on anyone - ever! As already said DO NOT allow him to chew on his feet, it can end up as self mutilation and can end up a real mess. You say you have good control of your dog but I am sorry I beg to differ. I would remove your dog when you have people around for BBQ's (or whatever it is you are having)then he does not have the opportunity to pee on anyone or annoy them. He loses the right to mingle if he cannot control himself. I would also recommend a trainer to give you another perspective on your and your dogs relationship.

Yep mine are shown and do obedience and agility. Soon to start Rally. How do I fit it all in? - just lately, not very well and I ended up taking a break from training. We have been doing heaps of stuff around the house so training has taken a back seat. Back into it now though I do not get to shows and trials very often, so when I do go I do everything I can. We are all completely puffed by the end (usually I have camped and driven 480+kms to get there) so by the time I get get home I ususally sleep for 12 hours
