We will have a septic system and leach drains. There is no deep sewerage here.

That sounds very much like the plans I have seen just on a larger scale. I am having to deal with a shire and they are becoming annoying! I have to submit a waste management plan which involves what we are doing with the solid dog poo. Among 25 other bloody rules and regs. My husband has suggested having a trap door like thing into the septic and dropping the dog poo straight into that. I am wondering if they would accept that?????

I am after plans to make or where to buy a doggy doo composting system that I can put the waste of up to 20 dogs per day. I have seen some good systems available for purchase but they only do up to 4 dogs from what I have seen so far. Can anyone help please :D

I usually decide depending on the dog. My bitch who is three I put into State bred or Austbred. My dog I put in his age class which is intermediate. If I was a better handler I would put her in open. If they are fairly mature for their age I would go open, statebred (never entered one in limit etc) If they were a late bloomer I would enter then in the lowest age class I could eg Intermediate,

Well, it is. Entire thing surrounded by bush pretty much. But for someone who hasn't seen a snake "in the wild" before and wouldn't know how to identify one, I'm pretty naive when it comes to them so when you train on the lushh green ovals with carparks separating the bush and ovals, I've rarely thought about snakes until someone brings it up! I don't like the things and as far as I'm concerned, they're ALL dangerous (only because I don't know how to identify them!) I feel them same really. I can identify the VERY rare pythons we see here very rarely, but pretty much all the ones we see are venemous so I get outta there first and ask questions later. I could imagine you wouldn't think of snakes much there as I never have when I have been there in summer.

ewww ticks!! Normal ones creep me out enough, but paralysis ticks - no thank you. I imagine the area the K9 grounds are in would be prime snake country. Hope no-one's dog tries to tangle with any that are in there

Just A Heads Up. They're Back! It's Snake Season Again
OSoSwift replied to LizT's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think you need a 150 posts in total SC to get into off topic. and   at the snake being dropped on it's head as a baby......... -
Sir Sniffalot, I have downloaded the rule book but there is also going to be a DVD on how to do the individual stations , can't remember the name of the DOLer but it is not far back. I can pm you their DOL name if you like. My club is supportive but ahs no idea so it is up to me to get it happening. Resources like the DVD will be invaluable

I paid mine in June and haven't recieved another as yet- won't be happy if I do either

Yes I meant the signs. Hopefully it is not as confusing when you are there, looking from side on there seems to be little organisation. Doesn't seem like there is much room to do stuff and between each sign. All a good learning curve I guess.

How Dd You Convince Your Oh To Get Another Dog?
OSoSwift replied to Atanquin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Whenever I mentioned that I got told mine cost money constantly and his were a one off purchase...............then he got his remote controlled car. He went spare parts shopping and it cost $160, then he needed a new motor, spares incase he broke this and this (again). Now he can no longer use that argument. I also remind him that his stuff does not give cuddles like my money burners do -
What a gorgeous BUlly. Such a happy girl. Thank you for posting that I have never seen a trial before. One question are they normally that crowed? That could potentially get confusing!

Thoughts Please - How Worried Should I Be?
OSoSwift replied to parrotpea's topic in General Dog Discussion
POor little thing she sounds very sore and unwell. Hope she is home soon and feeling better very quickly -
OH yes Frappe!!!!

It would depend on the surgery. If it was a suspected blockage on a very sick dog, no I would just do it (I do trust my vets) If it was for say a hip issue or an orthopedic issue I would get a second opinion.

A puppy doesn't have to be IN with various animals to be socialised or neutralised towards them. Mine are not in the paddocks but are happy troting around and taking no notice of sheep, cows and horses on the other side of the fence. We also have a cat who chooses or not to hang around the dogs. I also have Cavies and I certainly don't let the dogs run around with them but they tag along when I am feeding them etc. I really do not understand why people get so het about about people asking from a price. Yeh okay the "how much are they" single liners-fine, but when someone sends you an email with a bit about themselves, what they are after in a dog etc and then asks the price what is wrong with telling them???? Would people prefer 6 emails and three phone calls later to find out the person cannot afford the purchase price or it is higher than what they expected?? I do not want to waste a persons precious time asking questions etc to find out that I cannot have one of their puppies. There is also no point in me getting emotionally invested to have it smashed because I cannot afford the puppy. Not everyone has $3000 sitting around to purchase a puppy.

How Dd You Convince Your Oh To Get Another Dog?
OSoSwift replied to Atanquin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I train, feed, exercise, everythign the dogs. Even my OH very old boy that needs daily medication and a very close eye (as soon as the OH walks in the room I am dumped!!) So when the third dog became available he was like well you do everything so it's up to you. I wouldn't just go out and get one, I am far more subtle than that. I plant the seed tend it gently then pounce the moment a small sign of agreement is shown -
Sounds like they may have I would definately contact them. Could be a computer glitch.

I have never had an associate membership so not sure if they are different but mine has always gone 12 months from when I have become a member. I didn't have current membership for a couple of years, was always due in March. Since I have taken it back up it has become due in June
