I have used magnoplasm on dogs and horses, Years ago I saw a poultice made from epsom salts and zinc cream. Worked very very well and saved a dogs toe as it had a nasty infection that just antibiotics couldn't get on top of completely. You can also soak the foot in epsom salts and water. You just have to be able to keep their foot in it!

Not sure about the plastic bucket, I would possible try and get a stainless bucket and try that, or a concrete container maybe??

I imagine turning the puppy head over bum in a sommersault motion so they end up turning over a few times.

My dog was sedated not GA'd and he was fine with having the stuff injected in, as in a very fine catheter placed into the anal gland and stuff squeezed in. Surgery is a huge step up from that, not to mention they need to know what they are doing to avoid potential incontinence. I would be seeking a second opinion.

Glad Bondi is feeling betetr. Lets hope she continues to improve and is back to being pain free.

I am quite settled and yes it doesn't look exactly Koala like. Does not take away the fact I do wish to go there or support what they do in any way if I can help it. It does not take away the fact I think they are cruel and disgusting.............. And when it comes to reports of them eating odd things - yep I beleive it. Also Roo's are in plague proportions in Australia, Koalas are not.

I use a foam matress cut up with a polar fleece cover - easy to wash Cot matresses are quite cheap compared to some beds that go flat anyway. My SIL's dog slept on an inner spring cot matress for years. Helped with her arthritis a lot as well.

Why!!!??? Was wondering exactly the same thing!
-
She does, why's that? If it's an irritation of some sort what could I put on it? Some dogs do not tolerate the chemicals in plastic well. Try changing over to a stainless steel bowl. Exactly. I have heard of a number of dogs that end up with lips much like your girls when they have eaten out of plastic bowls, that has then dissappeared when fed from a non-plastic bowl. I use stainless for mine.
-
Exactly! But that's their piss-weak excuse for their cocked-up behaviors! Yes you are right there. Same as many supposed customs that involve animal cruelty. No bloody excuse. I am not going to tell my husband as he will get mad but also gets extremely upset at crap like this.
-
How can consuming Koalas be in their customs?????? One reason I refuse to travel to certain countries as I will not give them any money or any form of support int he terms of being a tourist in their country/s

seems nothing and the more rare it is the more they want to eat it. Absolutely bloody disgusting. How on earth did it get there is my question! I was watching something on SBS a little while back where the guy was at a Fish factory in Japan I think and there were fish to be bid on and bought. Very large Blue Finned Tuna - an endangered species, there was around 30 of these fish available for sale on that one day. Then they went to a resturant where you could fish and catch your tea - yeah okay. Only problem was they filleted it and served it up.....with the now filleted fish........who was still alive. None of the people could understand the English blokes horror. Bloody bloody cruel and not necessary. We are trying to save the wild population of Blue finned Tuna and they are auctioning them off to the highest bidder.

hahahaha we can't all be geniuses!!! although I try. I often say my dog in handler inpaired!!! Oh well rubber chickens wouldn't have been too bad he has never seen one of them. I think it will be fun Going to start up training down here soon

I agree with that RS. Also I used the happy happy chitty chatter to get mine reved up. Not really what I am after in Rally. So I think the odd encouragement or good dog will be good. Although if there were I-squeaks or Cuz balls as a distraction then I think I would be in full steam ahead chatter to keep their attention!!

They can't have been trying :D

Is there a list of the types of things to get? I think I remember seeing last year that there was a suggestions list

Ah okay. Can they do part of their quarantine in their country of origin, or do they have to do the whole 6 months in one of our quaratine stations over here?
-
Out of interest why the 6 month quarantine? Are there more risks than what there were??? 6 months is a very long time and would really influence me bringing a dog over or not.

Well my old DObe was the most hopeless swimmer EVER. Her front legs would splash - a lot, then she would try and swim with only one front leg, then would tip sideways and sink. Did not take her very often and always made sure we were in with her to hold her the right way up. She tried hard but was hopeless. When I got LEwis he loved running on the beach but would actually do a handstand if a wave came up towards him without him realising. Then we got an I-squeak ball. He was that addicted to it that I threw it right near the edge, then further and further until he all of a sudden he was right out there and I am not sure if he realised!! We had a slight set back when he went to step in a couple fo steps to retrieve his ball and the tide was out and it dropped off steeply.....He was extremely unimpressed with his whole body dunking and we lost the ball as it got blown out to sea. All is good now though

PIg In Mud are a company that does dog doors that go into existing sliding doors What a very cute Shiba!!

Looks to me like a bit of an allergy or irritation. Does she eat of a plastic dog food bowl?

I will have a septic system for the water from the kennels and fromt he toilet/sink. so I am guessing if I have a lid installed int he top of the frist septic tank that will be sufficient.
-
Our septic will have leach drains. We have not to many options on that one where we are. It is not built yet I have to submit a waste management plan. All runs, when washed, will then go into a drainage system with stainless buckets then into a septic system which, will of course, be connected to the leach drains. I am finding it rather frustrating and wondering why I have soo many stipulations when we are zoned Rural, live out of town and have 2000 acres....................... And to be honest I really think they have no idea and find them extremely frustrating!
