I won't be going to the classic, but what do you have to do to qualify? Do you send three scores in from the last 12 months?

Both of these are totally normal levels of ongoing breeder support offered by ethical breeders, in my opinion. We absolutely do this, and it's made very clear in our sales agreement and in conversations with our puppy buyers before they take their puppy home that we are always there to offer any help or advise, or to answer any questions and that we will always take any of our puppies back (in fact, this is a stipulation in our sales agreement - that if the situation occurs where the buyer can no longer keep the dog, they let us know so that we can take the pup back, or at the very least let us know so that we can help them rehome) I agree. This is what I expect from an ethical breeder.

I don't think being on more than one list is an issue as long as everyone knows and as soon as you have a puppy you let the other breeders know.

Thank goodness for that!!!!

I am also interested in what a puppy buyer wants. Good to see both sides of the coin I agree with the above. I am the type of person who likes to email/send a breeder photos and updates - quite often!! I could not handle a breeder that showed no interest int he puppy once they had sold it, or didn't care what that had achieved. Luckily both the breeders I got mine from never complain I send them lots of photos and email updates. I do not expect them all to be answered of course, just the odd email back is appreciated. Any question is answered, nothign is too silly and I feel they are now my friends. Which reminds me tme to take some more photos - been a little while :)

Oh really, a looney for not selling him a totally inappropriate dog for his situation. Whatever next!!! Maybe he misunderstood and thought you said the puppy must be hand fed Caviar and drink bottled water??????
-
why is his leg not covered? He did it after you got him didn't he - or it showed up after anyway

As in life no-one can know how the other prefers to communicate until you know each other a little. I think a little give and take on both sides is required. I fully understand people getting annoyed at people pulling out at the last minute, but I guess I wouldn't want a puppy to go to someone who wasn't really vested in that puppy either. People are all so different we heav no hope of knowing what they particularly like until we have communicated with them.

I can't find it either Wazzat and your link didn't work?

I agree, good on you for perservering and getting the correct diagnosis. What do they think the cause was? injury? Best of luck for his surgery.

Personally I reply to the emails, even the one liners, not with a huge reply, but sometimes people just have no idea. One in particular I though nope, won't be hearing from this one again. Turned out to be lovely people with not a clue what to say thought I would be busy so kept it simple. I don't take kindly however to people, on being told the price, try to negotiate it down.

Mine hunt Rabbits and have never caused an issue with the cats, even when they run outside. They are not stupid they know the difference between rabbits and cats. If it was between domestic and feral bunnies yep I could see the issue.

How do they differ from the Cool Champions one? They sound like a similar construction as in the layers etc.

If his coat was brushed flat instead of brushed back he would look very similar to the posted photos -

Mine came in on the 14th too :) We may just scrape in for April but I'd say more likely early May. Sorry if I confused, when I said 'we' I meant my girl and I :) She is off to the stud dog next week, fingers crossed... yep no worries, I got you, but we will possibly go May as well - all being well :)

I have Whippets and cats and have them outside together (under supervision) and never have an issue ever. I am at a loss as to why you ever bother posting as you never take any advice on board. Your dog is not stubborn, she is a young Whippet who needs direction, which you obviously cannot give. The cats should not have to get to the point of hissing and defending themselves. You should step in when she looks like annoying a cat. Allowing them to get hassled like that is un-necessarily cruel. Get off your backside and intervene early, train your dog. If you cannot do it give her to someone who can. She is not the problem she is being a young Whippet. You are the problem because you are a rubbish owner. If you think it is bad now wait until she hits adolesence. You were warned, but of course you didn't listen because you knew better and now look - I told you so springs to mind. Do the dog a favour and rehome her now!
