  1. :noidea:30th of April to me. Where do you want to go ?? You can sneak me in April and we will see what happens :)
  2. Fair enough Scootaloo. I was one that said I am not really a kid person - as in others. Having said that I have lovely friends with lovely kids and I like them. My kids have wonderful little friends and I like them. When I say I am not really another peoples kid person I am not the kind of person who wants to hold new babies and goo and gaa over them. Even with my own kids I love them dearly but found I got along with them really well once they were a little older. I am not really a newborn type of person. I am not the type of person who feels comfortable going into my childrens classes and doing class activities with all of the kids in the class. I will happily cut things out, put things away, cover books and do things as a group, go in for news etc but I just don't feel comfortable interactining one on on with the kids for a class activity.
  3. See now this peaks my interest. If I was to say oh I saw the naughtiest Pitbull the other day it ran into me and shoved otehr dogs around. I would get jumped on as it being deed not breed, or more to the point oh it isn't the dogs fault it is the owners, you can't tar all dogs with the same brush. Now my kids would NEVER do those things and IF they bumped into someone they would appologise. NOw being kids they do from time to time not really look where theya re goin, I do my best to make sure they do not interefere with anyone but very occassionally they do and we both apologise. So you cannot tar all kids with the same brush. SOME kids are annoying, SOME kids are rude and disrespectful and SOME kids do the wrong thing. That is not to say ALL kids do it. My kids do not, they have boundries and disipline and I find it a tad annoying when my kids are lumped in with badly disiplined and supervised kids.
  4. I have kids, some days I like them more than others! I am not into kids, although after having my own I will pick up a child for someone or help them out. I don't change nappies unless I am the only one around, did around 4 to 5 years of my own and didn't enjoy that too much either. My kids challenge me and make me work to be a better person. I am often told I am hard on them, but then told "gee aren't they good when you are out" which they are. They can be turds at home, they can great at home like all of us we have good and bad days. My kids know the meaning of no, and know the meaning of consequence of action. They will get a smack if they really need it, but not for every little misdemeanour. Some days I wonder what I was thinking, and other days I wonder what I did without them. I would fight to the death to protect them from anyone or anything that tried to do them harm. I do not expect anyone else to feel that way about them as I do. I am not into other peoples kids, I am not rude to them, I will chat to them but I don't like it if my kids whinge and I don't let them get away with it, I don't want to hear anyone elses kids doing it either. Quite often I refuse to acknowledge what mine are saying if they are whining, they get told to speak normally. I can appreciate that kids are not robots and sometimes are just having a crap day and feel crap and that is possibly the only way they can comunicate that. Plenty of adults I know whinge a lot as well. I often feel sorry for the poor parent who is trying like hell to stop the child annoying all and sundry and it is making not one ounce of difference. I hate listening to screaming tantrum kids while I am shopping also. Interestingly mine quite often comment on other childrens naughty behaviour, often quite loudly and near the naughty childs parent. I figure if my kids can see itm well it's probably quite obvious! I love all of my animals as well, but don't like being whinged at or annoyed by anyone elses badly trained dogs etc either.
  5. I got one of mine at 7 months and paid the going puppy rate. He had been socialised in a very similar environment as my own, slotted right in and within days it was like he had been here forever. HE and I are very close. IT sounds like you have a great dog, breeder and will have a great experience. Lets us know how it all goes :)
  6. I hope that justice prevails. Such a sensless loss of life, and from posts on DOL a very valued member of our dog world.
  7. I have children AND dogs - how amazing that you can actually have both and love and cherish them both - what a novel thought :D
  8. Best of luck :) And definately sending no cock up vibes your way
  9. I also LOVE stationary :) I have no idea who PEnny is but she has done an amazing job organising fantastic prizes. Well done to her. I do both with mine and will take no sides :)
  10. My dogs have weeks of water available, shelter and a yard to toilet etc happily, so while they would not be at all pleased they would survive quite well.
  11. IT's called passing the buck! or it's not my fault - they did it!
  12. I hope so but I do realise that I cannot keep everyone happy. My main aims are to run a prodcutive business that has happy safe dogs and happy owners so I will have loyal repeat customers and dogs that want to come visit and drag their owners in the door :)
  13. I would hope that any dog savy person would always put a dog on a lead - yikes no wonder you had a heart attack!! Yes we will have double fences/gates/doors between doggies and freedom. Also will be stipulated that all dogs are brought in/out on lead :) I guess with the treadmill it would most likely have a very small amount of animals that would use it purely becasue it would need to be a trained thing. You can't just throw any dog on it and ask them to exercise. Down here there are a VERY small amount of people that do dog sports, ie me and two friends who actively compete/travel :)
  14. So very sorry to hear. RIP Skoota
  15. I only saw it after looking for UHT Lactose free milk, and thought well there you go. wasn't overfly expensive either :)
  16. Yep we were all a little over it by then I can tell you, had pins and needles in my feet by then!!! What ever happened to the average of 20minutes!!! That would have been much better :)
  17. Well after a 50 minute tie today I think we may possibly sneak into this thread :)
  18. Woolies has UHT goats milk in with the other UHT milks :)
  19. Thank you Wayrod I will most definately have a look. I have done heaps of searching on the net, both within Australia and overseas. I will wait until the kids are in bed to look at this one so I can concentrate properly :)
