'carrot & Stick' Approach From Council
OSoSwift replied to Weasels's topic in General Dog Discussion
Our council does very similar things. They have really been cracking down on dogs that are off lead where they shouldn't be, written warnings etc and have saturated local media for a month. As of Monday they are issuing $100 on the spot fines. That coupled with handing out vouchers for dog washes, leashes etc will hopefully have a positive impact on what has been a large problem down here in the past -
Sounds the same as ours. I used it for the first time just last week. I have shorthaired dogs and took my own shampoo and towels. I put them both in and used the rinse cycle only. I did try the dryer but it was far too cold for them. I disinfect then lift them in, then disinfect again at the end as well

Thats just incase she get a bit hungry and needs a midnight snack :D Last night Rommi was eating her tea all of a sudden let out a loud bark and was looking around. Now for many that would be so what BUT.......Rommi is 4 has NEVER barked unless playing and has never barked inside and normally when eating she wouldn't have the time to bark.........curious!!!! It made us all jump as it was rather loud and unexpected

Dogs That Stare...but Not At Goats
OSoSwift replied to Whippetsmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
The behaviour sounds confronting and rude and if it was in my class the owner would be told what there dog was doing, what they needed to do and whys for the previous things. It is the instructors job to notice and either manage or diffuse situations BEFORE they become a stand off, fight or a lunge. It would be nice if owners had a clue but quite often they don't, so it is the instructors job to step in and teach the owners what the go is. I would personally ask the person to turn their dog away and re-focus it. If the instructors asks you why tell her/him. If they do not think the behaviour is confrontational and upsetting to other dogs and a potential risk, then they should not be training people and their dogs. -
I would also be interested in a active type formula :)

It does sound possible. I would change her back to what she had before and see what happens

Wow okay I was well out of the ballpark. Will ask my vets when I book in the US and see what they say..............

Fantastic photos, and I agree there are some great ones there, I am sure the riders would love to see them

What a cute baby :) She is getting sooo big now
-
The Boy one with the very little or no collar, is that considered less desirable in the markins department or does it make no difference? They are very cute :)

And that is what I love about BlackHawk, I am a primary producer so I support those who support us. Great to have any fears addressed. :) Oh while I think about it, The puppy no longer lists wheat in it's contents. I am guessing that means it no longer contains wheat?

I have only ever seen them done with the bitch awake and I am not sure but around $50 I think???......

I have just mated my bitch who stood from day 11 to day 18. I did note that she seemed to go off after that without the usual more bloody type discharge towards the end. She is a maiden and only a few weeks in so time will tell I guess?? Oh the shortest mating was a 10minute tie, she also had a 50minute tie and a 55 minute tie.

What breed are you looking into. DOLers would then be able to let you know if there are any health testing that should be done prior to breeding. I was once told a certain condition wasn't tested for as they didn't have that in their lines. All fine and good until my girl died from the condition at 8 and a half!!! All required health testing etc should be talked about BEFORE you commit to buying a puppy - and the breeder commits to selling, no way I would say I would take a puppy to only get told about those things when I pick the puppy up.

Gorgeous new babies, Hugs to those who have some that didn't make it. Hindsight is always perfect so don't beat yourself up, easier said than done I know. And yep coming out sideways isn't really that good!! Silly puppy. Glad the other babies and mum are all good though.

Main one for me is to confirm pregnancy. I have a few people waiting on potential babies so I would like yo be able to tell them if the bitch is actually pregnant or not. Also because I want to know :D I will not be using it to estimate numbers as the vets down here don't really have much experience so don't fo numbers
