Thank you Emery :)

I get mine from my vet. They have had them from before I worked there and still have them now - a good 15+ years. They get them in bottles of a 100 or so and sell you the amount you are after 1.e 1 or 20 :)

Covers fleas, heartworm, mange mites, something else I can't remember and all worms except tapeworm :)

You can use the big advocate and break it up. It is 0.1ml per kg bodyweight. I add a couple of 0.1's just in case thier weight has fluctated a little. It need to be stored wrapped in alfoil and in a dark place and not over 25 degrees. It is off label use so you need to decide if you wish to use it that way. I have an 11kg dogs and a 14.5 kg dog if they got their dose prepacked they would be getting 2.5mls or they get 1.3mls and 1.6mls instead. Less chemicals makes me happier. Oh and I use a tapewormer only tablet as all the worms are covered other than tapeworms if you use the advocate and once again I don't think they need the double up of chemicals

I had one that would do it, not all the time but every now and again. I bought the tinned crushed Pineapple and was told to feed the dogs who's poop he was eating one tablespoon. At the same time I changed the brand of dry food he was on and he stopped within around 2 weeks. He now does love to have a good sniff - read nose ON poop but I have not seen him even think about eating any in a good 18 months I would think.

I am also checking in often. Good to hear he is doing well. -
Hey guys, I have been asked to put this out there to anyone in Perth with a bitch who is in season now, to be used as a teaser bitch for collection of a young male. A bitch is required ASAP. If you can help out please contact DOLer Rebeldog. Thank you :)

I ahve owned Rottis and Dobes in the past as well as Staffords and now have Whippets. I know exactly what you are saying. The first three breeds are less likley to end up severely injured or dead if a fight does break out. The Whippets well if they were on lead and attacked they would be in big trouble very quickly. If off lead and they bolt, hit by car, lost etc etc. I did not worry when walking the Rotti's, Dobes or Staffords as much as I do walking the Whippets. I am far more defensive and far more likely to swing a boot if they get anywhere near close enough. A dog that rushed up to mine regardless of if the owner said it was friendly, would get the same response as an aggressive one. Allowing your dog to rush just because she is the breed she is and you think she is friendly enough , is rude and irresponsible.

Has Anyone Had A Litter After A Puss Coloured Discharge
OSoSwift replied to Fordogs's topic in Breeders Community
I know of a JRT bitch that got an open Pyo a few weeks after being mated. She was treated with a long course of antibiotics and was told there is no chance she will be pregnant after this. at around the 6 to 7 week post mating mark they ahd to change their tune and at the right time she had 5 or 6 perfectly healthy babies who thrived. She never got the infection back, even after another mating and subsequent litter down the track. -
Double over-head froggie doggies :D What a great update or two - brilliant :)
-
BAsically it was you bought papers or didn't now you get limited or mains, same deal more paper. Oh adn you know your dogs pedigree etc. Not all puppies should be sold on mains because not all are of breeding or showing quality, quite simple really what is so hard to understand about that?
-
Not every puppy of every litter is good enough to be bred from or shown.

Of course you do pet. Like now? At 1am?? *chortles* Hmmmm no If I get a certificate it goes into a pocket in a zippered file with all of my important dog stuff. However if I chose to do it at 1am who cares. If I can't sleep I may as well do something. Just because I am organised, no need for the attitude.
-
Oh no Becks fingers crossed all goes well and she has healthy babies at the correct time. All fingers, toes and paws crossed
-
I religiously gather and store all certificates together

Your dog does not have to be washed but should be clean and groomed. My dogs don't have skin issues so have no worries with a wash beforehand. I would never go into the ring without my dog looked well groomed and I am no winner in the fashion stakes, but neat and clean. No it shouldn't have a bearing on your scores but it shows pride in yourself and your dog. I never allow my kids to go to town in farm clothes and crocs either :)

Interestingly I had to have a dog put down two days ago. He lived 3 years longer than we first thought because of sound veterinary care and he went peacefully after an IV injection of lethabarb. We did know that due to his heart and circulation being poor he may gasp but this would be AFTER he lost conciousness. We loved him for his nearly 15 years and we were very sad we had to make the decision but he went peacefully. I have in nearly 15 years of working in vet hospitals have seen very nearly all of the animals euthed go peacefully. Occassionally some fight it, or fight being held - once I saw a reaction that wasn't nice. But that was it. It is about your inability to cope, your inability to see reason and your inability to see your dog is a dog. I love my dogs, they are fed the best, they are spoilt but they are dogs. They are most certainly are not an inconvienience and are not stupid and I do not treat them badly because I treat them as dogs, for you to insinuate they are is down right rude and ill informed. Do yourself a favour and see a shrink because you bloody well need one.

I wear a plain shirt, long sleeved shirt with either a plain POlar fleece vest or jumper if it cold. I tend to wear yoga pant type pants but sometimes Jeans. I have limited slip martingales and plain cotton leads. My shirt collar and lead match to some degree. So for the dogs their collar will have red in it, I will wear a red shirt/long sleeve shirt and the lead will be red. I know it doesn't really matter but I always believe you present yourself well and so it looks like your presentation matters. I do the same for agility, minus the jeans. Dogs are always washed and clean. If we are showing as well one will be chalked etc. WHen I was doing dressage the picture was the same, the horse was plaited and had some highlights, either face gloss, blackened knees etc as I believe you present yourslef like a champion regardless of what actually happens.

She has a little pot and her mammary chains are enlarged - not heaps. If the vet is right and she took from the last matings then she is 5 weeks this Saturday. I keeping thinking yep, but no dramamtic changes as in huge belly, huge nipples as yet. I am still hopeful but wish the changes were more obvious.

That she has Ptolomy :) Nicely cooking babies :) Smooth whelping vibes to you LM, well your girl anyway :)

The best of luck Lappiemum

Watching her play was awesome. As she went through a rescue I am quite sure they would have checked for a chip etc.

I take mine out down to the bunny paddock and they dash around "chasing" bunnies who are rather safe!! I cannot do it during summer due to snakes but it makes for great winter exercise.
