OSO shops such as mine research new products to evaluate whether or not to stock them and peoples experiences and opinions can be a valuable tool in doing so. Reps and companies will say their product makes the animals fart cherries and leave nuggets of gold on the lawn but consumers who spend their hard earned money on their beloved pets have nothing to gain from promoting a product if it doesn't work for them. I have seen both sides who heavily support it and those that do not but I also watch the reactions from those that comment too. I see what you are saying, but surely they understand that not every dog food suits every dog and no one type or brand is only going to have only positive comments. BH may be great but if my dog does not tolerate Lamb then it will cause gas, sloppy poo and weight loss. That does not mean it is a bad food it just means my dog may not tolerate it. I can see why poeple may look at this thread, but I would have though there were more positive comments than bad comments so I am not sure why anyone would be turned off by reading this thread?

Who is WOM? And I am not sure why it would put them off stocking it as the nasty responses are quite often from people who have little or no affiliation with the company, and if they do, it would be as a reseller so the shops would not be dealing with them they would be dealing with Sherel/Black Hawk or Rudducks directly.

I probably wouldn't before, no.

So very sorry to ehar that RIP Tara. It is very hard and everyone copes differntly with comeing to that decision. My OH and I are totally different. Big hugs from us. Tara is now running free, full health restored at the Rainbow Bridge

Blue Whippets generally seem fine. It does seem though int he breed as there are no disqualifying colours people tend to not worry so much about breeding for colour. Maybe if someone was trying to breed blue and breeding Dilute to dilute repeatedly then maybe it would become more of an issue? Not sure but I have seen and heard of many blue Whippets with no issues, or none more than the general population.

IS he inside or wearing a coat (or two) at all?

It seems the person who made my last sig has removed or deleted it so now it has disappeared. Is there a lovely person who could please make me a new one, I am crap at such things.

You would hope so, but it is still incredibly brave to put yourself in the direct path of 6 dogs trying to kill something. It has been said in the ABC news story that three dogs were put down at the owners request, not sure about the other three.

I would pull out even if I was on a pass. When I had the Dobes, my girls was bomb proof, for her to move there would have to had been a dog really have a go or stand over her. If that happened then I would pretty much be assured that she would retaliate and it would not have been a very nice outcome at all. Once there was a very reactice GSD that was walking past with it's owner and lunged across the owner towards my Dobe who was luckily looking away. Aparently the dog was reknowned for moving and good luck more than good management meant there had been no fights. I decided pass or not if she was next to us I was pulling mine. She wasn't on a pass, did the stays anyway (luckily 4 dogs down) got up and stood over a dog - who luckily completely ignored her, The GSD was looking for a fight. I was happy that had I been next to her I would have pulled as had she done that to my Dobe there would have been a fight. With the WHippets I am even more aware. They are very soft and if a dog did that they would take a fair bit of training to get them confident. They are solid in their stays but I would expect them or want them to stay solid if a dog stood over them to pick a fight, they would get injured too easily. If a dog did stand over them to pick a fight or wack them for a play I would report it and ask the judge nicely for the offending dog to be removed, stays re-judged. I figure one trial (or one set of stays) is not work the potential stress for the dog or myself should something like this occur. OUt of sight stays, not way would I go int here unless they were waayyy down the end. In a trial in Perth a sweet little Sheltie saw Lewis next to him - Lewis is a complete snob and ONLY talks to Whippets. This little guy had a waggy tail and was looking at Lewis, not moving, but you could see he was itching for a play. Lewis got the snobbiest and slightly worried look and his face and slowly and deliberately looked away. He peaked a couple of times to be horrified to see the Sheltie STILL looking at him - dog forbid.

Two incredible acts of bravery. The man for laying over the girl, then holding the dogs while her dad ran with dogs after him knowing if they caught him what would happen. Terrible.

For Those That Have Used The Suprelorin Implant
OSoSwift replied to OSoSwift's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Lewis's behaviour has returned to normal, as in his attitude, resilience and behaviour indicate his testosterone is returning/getting back to normal. Around the 12 month mark I noticed a reasonable change in his behaviour. He mated happily and showed no signs a low libedo. Rommi is due from October so will semen test him then as we also have a person with an outside bitch that is interested in a stud service. I did read somehwere 80% of dogs have returned to full fertility after 2 years (12 month implant) - this I found out AFTER getting the 12 month implant done of course, otherwise I would have gone the 6 month one. -

Well an update. Lewis did not have viable sperm so no babies. His testicles have not increased in size past the initial amount they increased. When Rommi next comes into season I will be getting a Semen sample from him to have it tested. It will be 2 years in August since it was implanted - not happy ! -
That poor little girl. It only takes seconds for a young child to slip away from your side sometimes. I to, would Euth the dogs

Hilariously Awful .. Check Out What This Artist Did

just too weird! -
Quite often you get a far cheaper price to go through a pet frieght company than through AAE - it saved me nearly $200 just from Perth to Esperance. I would call Wayrod and aks or ring Jetpets and Dogtainers for a quote. You still drop them off and you or who ever is meeting her will pick her up, the companies have nothing to do with them as such just means you get it cheaper. The only other thing I would recommend is book her, then double triple, quaruple check. It seems quite often - at least at the WA end you think you have a booking but they are not on the books. Third time lucky for my Dobe from Perth to Darwin.

Some of the questions didn't exactly fit us either but I answered as close as I could. My dogs do not beg, get fed when I do it and if they beg (they are inside when we eat) or even get off their bed they are put outside. So if there is tea happening they are statues! I would be interested to see what the end result is.

My kitten has been brought up completely on BH Feline. His poops only smell when he has caught and eaten a mouse - yuk! Other than that they barely smell. HE is only 9months old at this stage and is shaping up to be a big cat. HE is lean and muscley but big

My bitch has never dirtied her coat

I made some Whippet shaped coats for a friend and the only way they didn't pee on them was if they were an inch up their sides. Her dogs pee'd on their chest. My male pees down so he never gets close to his coat. I think anatomy plays a big role in whether or not a Whippet will pee on it's coats or it's self. I think they make lovely coats. If you need it altered and they cannot do it then I suggest a good clothes alteration person.

I think the calender is a great idea, along with the photo placemat and cards. All would be greatly appreciated I am sure
