I am flabbergasted that things such as these need to even have laws made to stop it!!! I just don't see how a person can think it's okay...................

Sorry to hear that Whitka however that is what the mining industry is like, it is very easy to suddenly not have a job. Tell him to contact the Esperance Port and see what they have going. I hear they have had lots of jobs recently. There are also the mines around Ravensthorpe.

PS that all sound terrible Hope you are feeling better very very soon -
Fantastic photos, look at that little Chestnut boogy. You can see the focus, the weight back and he/she is working their beast. I love to watch when they get down and work like that, brilliant. I entered one once down here as a novice, but decided brakes were more important than I first thought. My little mare could go fast and turn sharp- stopping was an entirely different issue!!! I remember dpeaking to one guy who said if he didn't get gravel in his boots after a cut his horse hadn't got down and worked properly. His horse could get down and boogy!!!!

They won't get flea tapeworm but there are more than one type of tapeworm.
-
Yep I know, not a major issue here. Just want to make sure they don't bring any fertile eggs home. We have no fleas at home
-
Oh thanks for that, I have only just changed over so hadn't given them a tablet yet. I have been rather busy so hadn't checked properly.

RIP Toby, so very sorry to hear of his passing. He had the most perfect mum any boy could wish for.

I did use Advocate but found using through winter with dogs that wear coats a toal Pain. I changed to Sentinel Spectrum and tapwormer tablets. I usually do it around every 6 to 8 weeks as I often forget to do them monthly. We do not have fleas on our property but there are heaps in town and we have a low Heartworm risk. We only have Kangeroo Ticks

Not all the time but the cats lick the icecream bowl.............. Sometimes if I have forgotten to wash their bowls they get one of ours for tea. All the bowls go into the dishwasher to be cleaned

Many of the caatle I sold/sell go straight to slaughter from the paddock. I have sold cattle into feed lots. Wild rabbit and roo are freely available to purchase down here. Locally shot and butchered straight into the freezer. There are otehr options you just have to be prepared to looka nd maybe go out of your way a bit/pay more to get options that are the more ethical choice for you. I think if you wish to feed a dog a vegatarian diet then you should look at getting a vegetarian pet.

Oh No Poor PS, please sned her hugs and Whippet kisses from us -
No I don't either. They get from me ...oi...cut it out! Mine get told - in your own time. They stop :)
-
I don't even like to listen to dogs slurping when they lick themselves!
-
I don't like being licked full stop, if my dogs even think about getting close enough for a face lick they get told no and/or off you go. I don't rush out and wash the spot but I hate getting licked anywhere, especially the face
-
That does sound great :) Good to hear the good stories I have had some great experiences with breeders myself :)

What Wierd Stuff Does Your Dog Do With You?
OSoSwift replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
I can't stand being licked either. Lewis in particular has to be touching me if I sit down on the lounge. As soon as my bum hits the chair he is up no matter what he is doing or where he is to sit next to me and touching me. If he gets told no he gets instant sulks -
Palmar Luxation Of The Antebrachiocarpal Joint
OSoSwift replied to Tralee's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I don't know about it in the bone but it is a total shit of a bug to have anywhere. How on earth did he get that in there?????? It would have to have occured during surgery I would think. -
Seems one shire has rampaging Whippets - interesting. I know after having been bitten 10 times at least by a frenzied Chihuahua that the likelyhood of small dog bites being reported is much lower than larger ones. I ended up with multiple bruises and a few small puncture marks. If had of been say a dog Kelpie size or larger I would have ened up in Hospial with major wounds to my arms. It was dead set serious but small enough not to do a huge amount of harm. I really do not hold much creedence to people naming of breeds of dogs I ahve to say so while the attacks did occur and while the once reported were obviously dogs that pretty much look like those breeds, I wouldn't believe they actually were necessarily. I have a dog in my ayrd at the moment. Found roaming in farm land ona very hot day. The lady who found her told me she had a brown Kelpie with a boxier head. Dog arrives it looks very much like a Staffy X Kelpie type with a black coat that is faded out and not in very good condition. Nothing like a brown Kelpie.

OH crap RV, so sorry to hear that. I wonder if this may have some bearing on his anxiety issues he has had over time as Liver issues quite often manifest as behavioural issues.

Thanks Tiggy. Thanks Tiggy.

I am not sure I have unbonded, because I don't think I bonded in the first place. However when he was 18 months old it was very clear we didn't like each other much and when he went back to his breeder for some training and to see why we were not getting along I didn't miss him and he didn't miss me. Even when I went to visit he was totally indifferent and went off with someone he had known for a month. He got rehomed to an older couple and they click straight away and he had a wonderful life . I also did becasue I wasn't tearing my hair out all the time. I got an older bitch from the same breeder and another following and lost my heart to both of them. I decided boys of that breed and I just were not meant for each other :)

Fingers crossed for Toby, poor love. Cuddles from us. Tiggy do you kow who that is with as I have never seen anything like that with my pet insurance and it is one of the main reasons I took it out due to the amount of snakes we get down here.
