Unfortunately, it IS the breed. They have been bred to fight over many, many years. It is imprinted into their genetics in the same way Retrievers were bred to fetch their masters' ducks, etc when hunting. No one, and I don't care how much of an expert they claim to be, but no one can control these dogs and stop them from attacking when they want to. They were bred to fight other DOGS not humans, human aggression has never been a trait of the breed. It is the morons that desire to own an aggressive dog that are signing the death sentence for this breed, not the dogs.

Breeders are stuck between a rock and a hard place as far as I am concerned. If they refer to sales, selling etc they are accused of being too commercial or profit driven. I don't think the wording is manipulative at all.

White Shepherd Rescue Needs Assisitance
Crisovar replied to Bilbo Baggins's topic in General Dog Discussion
Taking on a 5mo fear agressive GSD? is not the job for just anyone, if a suitable experienced carer cannot be found then PTS is the best thing sad as it is. -
You would be assuming wrong in so many cases then wouldn't you!!

Bunkum. The animals in the pound system are rarely the result of well thought out breeding programs from ethical Breeders. The majority of pound and shelter animals are there because of ill informed or ignorant choices. As far as I am concerned the more well bred, carefully raised pups available for informed people to buy the better.

Impossible to set a number as far as I am concerned. Far too many variables, so much of how and why a Breeder operates is unable to be set in stone. Too much variation between breeds and their requirements and quirks. I want to know where people think good pups are going to come from when all the warm and fuzzy folk get their way and there are so few pups on the ground. Everyone wants puppy buyers to source their pup from ethical, responsible feel good breeders, then they want those pups to be cream of the crop, of course on top of that the Breeder must show/dance or play the flute whatever, plus only breed one or two of these warm and fuzzy litters in a set period. How do we breed to keep up within the restrictions that are being demanded and yet maintain healthy gene pools and the numbers of animals that is often needed to have a healthy sound breeding program. We also want Breeders who are experienced and know their breed inside out and have the knowledge to produce these super pups. After we have produced these super pups we then have to desex the majority of them and take another heap of choices out of breeding programs and put the damper on anyone who may even think about breeding themselves. Then we have the find a mentor if you want to breed issue, shortly there wont be any of those either. Limit who can breed, limit how many they breed, limit how many they own where does that lead us?? Be careful what you wish for.

They are cremated here.

Be cranky with yourself, you chose to have mulch when you have dogs, you left the plastic bag within their reach, not much I can see that the dogs have done wrong.

Shocking Truth About Cat And Dog Food

Pet owners also place too much trust in vets in regards to diet advice. Best $37 I've ever spent on my pets & yes absolutely life changing. Billinghurst is a VET, they are not all half wits. -
What Does The Broncishield Cover

Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine parainfluenza virus and canine adenovirus type 2. -
just because that is what used to happen doesnt mean it should and it doesnt make it right WHY? If the dogs are happy, sound in body and mind, healthy and tick all the right boxes as far as health testing etc what is the problem? You don't like it? You don't have to, but it doesn't make it wrong. It still happens today, there are big kennels that breed lovely dogs that are doing all the above. Some of these Breeders have forgotten more about their Breeds and the breeding of them than many of us could ever strive to know. Yet some of you would like to stamp them out because you don't like it. I am glad that I had the pleasure of meeting some of these Breeders and that they were gracious enough to share some of their knowledge and the fruits of their labour with me and with others.

A visit to the Vet is what is needed and pretty soon I think.

We do have a definition of puppy farmer Oakway as far as I can tell it is anyone who dares to do something that is different to the average Doler.

Look at my post & you'll see that I said socialisation was the key....however many dogs someone has. And, without socialisation, which prepares dogs to be companions alongside humans & their various lifestyles... breeding dogs is farming. 'Farming' puppies is producing a physical product. 'Raising' puppies is producing animals that will share humans' lives in some capacity, by way of stimulating hard-wired social learning in a variety of contexts. There's sound, rigorous scientific research on this point. By following that state-of-the-art knowledge base... the Military Dog Unit at Amberley has developed a superb model for socialising the dogs they breed with.....& the puppies they breed. They know what 'hard-wiring' means & what is the 'critical learning period'. The description of what they do is precisely how all dogs should be bred & raised (not farmed). Whether a SWF intended to be a lap dog or a Belgian Shepherd intended to walk beside a soldier. My question of the OP case was, 'How can those 84 dogs be socialised?' In answer, shrieks of silence rent the air. Go ask the owner of the 84 dogs Mita, no one here KNOWS how his dogs live, or what their daily routine is you are all just assuming. I can't tell you how or if he does it, all I know is what was written here just like everyone else. However many large breeders have for generations managed to raise happy healthy pups sound in mind and body, I have seen it, I have lived with the pups they have bred. If the DOL brains trust doesn't believe it is possible, that's too bad. Some breeders do actually take what they do pretty bloody seriously and make sure they do the best by the pups they breed. There is no one single correct way, every breeder large or small does things differently, just like we raise our children. Some people have hired help, some have family help, some enlist the help of neighbourhood kids to play with pups.

So any Breeder who keeps more than the number of dogs that you and others here feel is the appropriate number has dogs that turn out like yours? Some of the best natured dogs I have met have come from large breeders. The saddest rescue I ever had came from a 2 dog household that had litter to pay for an OS trip. Bad management can occur across the board no matter how many animals are involved. I was accused of being a puppy farmer because I fed & watered my dogs out of stainless steel bowls and therefore according to the wise had no emotional attachment to them because they didn't eat out of pretty dishes, the BS just goes on and on. The only living creature here with a uterus is a pony so that was pretty amusing. The generalisations and accusations that go on are pretty damn ignorant. People are tarred and feathered just because they don't fit in someone elses square, no proof needed, just whack a label on them. I haven't taken this personally, I simply detest the assumptions and generalisations that frequent these threads. I simply added my SS dish anecdote as an example of the tripe that is believed by some.

Dogs in some of the large kennels I have known get more human contact and stimulation during the day than most pets that languish at home whilst their owners work all day. Dogs can be happy & healthy and mentally sound when kept in numbers greater than the average doler can manage.

Malaseb is a medicated shampoo for treating some skin conditions, if you do not leave it for the required time it is not as effective, what are you treating? If you are just looking for a general shampoo then there are many to choose from but it may be trial and error to find one that suits your dog. Aloveen, Fidos Everday, Groomers EPO, all good shampoos, but you need to try them on your dog.
