Well i hope there is no snow! Otherwise i reckon i will stay in the motel. lol We are staying at the Motor Inn just over the bridge. It is pretty good, had some lovely meals at the Railway hotel. have to say we did have a laugh cause you have a Railway, a Royal and an Imperial hotel as wel as another one, Red Dog? the one opposite the shell servo. Am heading off to the RSL to see Shannon Noll tonight, should be a good night. And the show has started so will have a look around tomorrow. Bigger town than i thought it was going to be actually - the only thing i have not been able to find anywhere is a retractable/extendable lead. Will have to try the show shop tomorrow. The rain is ok....when it happens when we are not walking dogs, or in the ring - it was really cold last night, but so beautiful and clear We will certainly be back next year - has been a great week so far Try Chamens , the big IGA on the corner for the lead. Or Owens rural supplies.

Ive never seen it snow here in Condo LOL and I have lived here most of my life lol. It is supposed to be really cold tho over the weekend and people mentioned freezing on Orange . Would be nice if this rain would go away , How are you all coping over there at the caravan park ?? Or do you stay in a motel ??

I want to get a new camera to take all kinds of photos, and also my OH wants a great camera as he takes alot of photos for his band etc, Not neccessarily wanting to upgrade later but figured if I can get a really good camera now it will last me for a while. At the moment I have a kodak slr lol so this is an upgrade It comes with 12 month limited warranty .As far as I can tell this is an Australian camera. THe lenses have the brand name Zeikos ?? Thats why I posted here as I have no idea whats a good camera or a good deal.

Which camera is better CANON EOS REBEL XSI 450D or Canon EOS Rebel XS 1000D And does anyone know the estimate prices on either?? I have looked at a few and am unsure what is a fair price , The 450D is $850 dollars and the 1000D was around $800

LOL. I thought about it. We did some thinking, and we had been at a friends place, he has eaten some of the food there, as he hasn't smelt so bad since. I also added a spoonful of natural yogurt to his food as well. I am going to give him a couple more days and see if it goes back to normal, or change his diet. Thanks everyone. sounds like you need to hang the air freshener tree to his tail lol, My lab farts alot and she gets very embarrassed too , I dont know if this has any relevance to your dog but Tara was worse when she had impacted anal glands, besides foul smelling farts she also had a fishy smell all the time, once the vet did her miracle and evacuated them she didnt smell as bad but still farts, they just dont smell lol

I use Barko here too, Zeus's breeder reccomended it as that is what she uses, both he and my lab do well on it. Because i have to buy it from a town an hour away sometimes i have to get Bonnie or what ever the rural supplies have here, They told me last week about a product similar to Barko I think it's called Hypro and I mixed it with the Bonnie as that's all i had at the time and Zeus will literally pick the other product out lol He hates it, Another dane owner here uses this hypro or what ever its called and their dogs love it. I pay 29 dollars for Barko

Sammy, As far as I know it's because of bloat- some people believe in raising the food prevents and some say it doesn't.

Justin do you mean should you be using other heartworm medication besides Advocate? Or am i reading it wrong lol I use Advocate and my vet has said thats all I need is to use the right dose according to my dogs weight and thats all.

A few weeks ago when my dog was sick her vomit went from clear to browny after the medication, The vet said its ok if she doesnt want to eat straight away so long as she had small frequesnt drinks and didnt become dehydrated , They gave her an injection there at the surgery to help with the sick feeling and sent me home with some pepto aswell as the antibiotics, because my dog had the poos aswell they gave me some Vytrate, I am not sure wether you can purchase that from any farm centre type of store or anywhere other then a vet in your area??Or if its only good if they have the poos aswell??? Sending healing faries your way, its horrible when our loved ones arent feeling well

I dont know about prices for Cockers, But on average from what I have come across many breeders charge different prices for the same breeds, When I was looking for my Labs there were over 40 litters and the prices varied from $500 to $1300 and all were from registered breeders. It definately pays to look around a research and call the state that the breeder lives in and make sure everything is legit. Both my dogs come from several hours from me and we relied on instinct and both breeders were very helpful and understanding and were happy to give me any information I needed. I am sure alot of breeders may find comfort that potential buyers are so thorough and not just impulse buying.

One of my dogs did this aswell, Would get so wet around her mouth and dribble , then she would be sick, Complete anxiety everytime she went in the car. Happy to say she grew out of it and now is first one in the car lol

once they grow a brain ! My choc lab was one of those that didnt seem to "grow a brain" till he was 2.5 . Sure he was trained at some things and totally didnt get others. Or was so ditzy and hyper he just didnt care lol ,My black lab was total opposite, she did what puppies do and chewed things and dug holes but she seemed to mature alot faster, they say that about women too dont they?? My chocolate boy would dig the hole just to get the reaction even if it wasnt the one he was hoping...... adhd comes to mind lol, Now tho he has settled down . See labmummy this is what makes memories, if he wasnt in ya knickers chewing socks you wouldnt have had that laugh this morning :wink:

Yep its the reflection of the window LOL We have had some angelic moments and some devilish moments in our life i can assure you of that , but the angelic far outway the devilish . And I totally agree any dog that is bored becomes destructive, especially a lab. Shoes were a huge thing with ours and when we thought we had it under control and left a pair down ooops not good lol unless you only have one foot. ;) You will have to keep us up to date on the labrador section aswell. And tell us all the good and naughty things he does

My black lab loves her toast, I was saying in a post bout treats how she waits for me to give her my crust, I make her toast and vegemite and we do breakfast together lol only she doesnt get the coffee . toast or just the crust even with vegemite is her favourite treat.

My girl has terrible anal gland issues, she eats a good diet and still gets full glands that need to be emptied with assistance, She starts off with scooting a little but then she wags her tail and omg i near vomit at the smell, Now and then she has some on her bed and off to the vet we go lol My vet has suggested that they remove her anal glands if they become blocked again , she assures me that the dog can live without them and that they are used for leaving scent/marking territory etc , she also commented that my dog has one anal gland that seems to be in a position that would be hard for her to empty herself normally . I always get the vet to do them . I have heard alot of small dogs have problems with anal glands tho my dogs are labs .

I have heard of people using canesten cream that you get from a chemist and they also say that adding natural yoghurt to the diet helps as its full of Acidophilus, bifidus, L. Casei and L. Reuteri live active cultures which help fight yeast infection. I hope you find something to help your dog

Hi Daxilly, I would think that if your dogs stomach is warm that the dog itself feels warm? and maybe the part that you feel is cool to cold is only because its hair exposed to cold air and the dog itself tho is warm? Its a hard call with winter coming, My chocolate lab sleeps in a kennel with blankets and we also put straw in their as he likes to dig himself a bed in it,when he was younger would always lay in the garden in the straw (that we layed ontop to keep the moisture in ), thats when we realised he loved straw lol wierd huh . Our black lab however sleeps inside the house , The chocolate one doesnt like being inside at all, which is why he sleeps outside in a kennel. How old is your dog? Does your dog make noise at night? Does it shiver when you check it? For real tho i would imagine that your dog would get under her lovely doona and blankets if she got to cold

Hi, I had taken my labs for a swim in the dam and when we got home i realised i had run out of the regular shampoo i use and quickly dashed to the local grocery store to see what they had in the meantime, I bought this one called Colour Intensifying Shampoo with optical brightners , its soap free and hypoallergenic and made by "I love my pet" its in a dark purple bottle and i must say it seemed to really intensify my male dogs coat, He is a chocolate lab , after his bath and he dried he looked a rich chocolate colour and my husband even commented on it, he was so shiney , My other lab is black and is always shiney, I dont know if anyone else has ever used this shampoo and got the same results ... would be interesting to find out

I agree with poodlefan and its a dominant thing rather then a sexual thing, When my male lab was younger he would do this to my leg and I would use "the tone" ,Just as poodlefan said a deep kind of "agghhh" then i follow with the word No after . My whole family use "the tone" when its needed so that our dogs dont try to dominante them either, I found it best if everyone stays consistent so as not to confuse our dogs . And we use that tone with anything we dont want the dogs to do so they know its an "ut oh cant do that" thing LOL My kids laugh cause I speak the same way to the dogs as I did my children when they were toddlers. As far as the sexual realtions being hindered later in life, I dont think to much can stop a dog if he is in the company of a female in heat , they kinda have one track minds then LOL Good luck with your puppy !
