I hope she is never able to own any dog again, absolutely disgusting especially a breeder that should know better!!! Dogs Victoria have a lot to answer to. I did a rescue a few years ago from a registered poodle breeder, I took on 4 poodles the council and the RSPCA were involved. Stupid women had over 50 poodles on her suburban block most were in terrible condition. She was ordered to rehouse all but 20. I have noticed she is still, breeding and selling pups and is also still a member of Dogs Victoria. Surely after commiting such an offence they could ban these breeders for life.

I am sorry you are going through this, my two tiny dogs are a pom x chi and a purebred chi, I go into a panick as soon as I can't hear or see them even though my house and yard is completely secure. As someone suggested have you checked every cupboard etc. inside your house? We thought we had lost our Claudia a few weeks ago found her in the roll out pantry, she didn't make a sound even though she is normally a yappy little terror.

Are people still seriously in denial that something nasty is not going on. This dog turned up dumped in Pt Leo in this condition. Apparently Mornington Police are doing investigating. There are way too many dogs going missing from secure backyards and homes.

Apparently two American bulldogs were stolen from Mt Martha yesterday, one was found today covered in bite marks and blood the other is yet to be found. Also two beagles stolen today from Mt Eliza.

Know the feeling, every time we steam clean our rugs and couches somebody feels the need to puke or diarrhoea. I was actually starting to wonder if it has something to do with the cleaning products.

I have used Wahl, Oster, Andis and Laube. I have found Andis to be the best. Osters get hot too quick, Laube are too heavy (they do work great) and Wahl are ok but The quality isn't great. The other benefit is Andis are the quietest with the least vibration.

The best local vet is Beach st vet in Frankston, they could probably suggest a specialist if necessary.

We have had reports in the local paper in the last few weeks, apparently the investigations have been going on since the end of last year.

Sorry but I would be taking it a bit more seriously, I live in the area and dogs are going missing. How do you explain the recently found dog that had half its face mauled and was left to die with a garbage bag tied around its head? It was near a park where confirmed sightings of dog fights have been.

Old Boy Getting A Bit Stiff
Rascalmyshadow replied to cannibalgoldfish's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My 12 year old poodle has quite a bit of arthritis due to having both cruciates repaired in the last few years. She has her cartrophen injections and a maintanence dose of Meloxican everyday to every second day depending on what she has been doing. We have seen a huge improvement and she is often bouncing around like a puppy, it is just a shame she has lost most of her eyesight. -
If you have a look at crime stoppers facebook and the other in formation I read in our local paper.

Poodles are my perfect dog. If I was to pick one that was perfect it would be Bosun the standard we had. He was goofy, not highly prey driven, super willing to please, by your side but not clingy, no shedding hair, loved the family but was mostly my boy, protective when necessary and loved to be a big lap dog. I only wished he had had a bit more confidence in public. His biggest downfall was being too much for the children, he wasn't aggressive but his roughhousing was an!accident waiting to happen so we made the decision to rehome him to a wonderful couple with no children that lived on acreage.

Just wanted to make people aware there is a major dog fighting ring going on in the Seaford, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula areas. Many local dogs have recently started to go missing mostly staffy and staffyx's. Crime stoppers have released a photo of a suspect and it is known to have recently been happening in a Seaford factory. If anyone living down this way see's anything suspicious at all please report it.

I have owned an American bulldog beautiful nature fabulous with the kids and cats . Have also owned a couple of pitbulls same thing actually they make the perfect family dog. They are definitely not dogs for everyone, they need an owner that is knowledgeable, calm and confident. Doesn't mean they should be banned because of a few morons. I would sooner trust the bull breeds over an unknown rotti ( no offence to anyone I like them but I have met many that are very reactive).

Santo66 maybe you should dissappear off the dog forums seems your full of s#%t!!! Poor dad and son I hope they make a full fast recovery. Sounds like this dog should have been much better managed if not PTS sooner. Yet more idiots giving these breeds a bad name.

When will people learn poor little kid and poor dog, both been put into a situation that should have never happened. Sounds like there is more to the story, dogs that live on chains and are used for piggin IMO are in no way suitable to be anywhere near children. Maybe the poor kid squealed and moved too suddenly which set the dog off. Either way the adults are at fault they have learnt a very hard lesson.

Dog Desexing, Bleeding Stitches?

We have had many dogs desexed over the years, our own as well as rescues and none of them had any bleeding post surgery, I would be straight off to the vet. -
Trying To Choose A Breed Would Love Some Help Thanks
Rascalmyshadow replied to Chloe08's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poodles especially the standards are high energy and it is often continuous and is very hard to live with if you aren't used to it. They are sharp witted and don't miss a thing. They are often extremely demanding and want to be with you all the time. My girl would go for a huge walk or we would run laps of the oval late at night (she was very antisocial) and less than an hour later she would be harassing me with her tennis ball. she could also be quite stubborn and would get bored doing the same training exercises, my boy wasn't quite as high energy but was more full on in his behaviour and was too rough with the kids no matter how much training we did, he was easier too train because he lived to please. The collies I have met and groomed have been quite a bit calmer in their behaviour and activity levels. I have found them to be softer and less demanding than the poodles and also less grooming. -
Trying To Choose A Breed Would Love Some Help Thanks
Rascalmyshadow replied to Chloe08's topic in General Dog Discussion
If your kids have small pets I would stay well away from poodles, I have only had one poodle through my house that was trust worthy around small animals. I had to make the decision to rehome my rabbits, guinea pigs and chooks because even at 12 years old my mini was too obsessed with them. My standard girl was even worse she bit chunks of timber off the hutches trying to get to them. -
Trying To Choose A Breed Would Love Some Help Thanks
Rascalmyshadow replied to Chloe08's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have had poodles for years and a standard would love that amount if exercise, they would also get a lot of enjoyment playing with your kids. The only thing to be aware of some of them have extreemly high prey drives so if you do look at getting one make sure you discuss that with the breeder, it can become a problem living with a smaller dog. -
We are also using evening primrose oil as a supplement, a wonderful old vet suggested it.

How Would You Feel About This Situation?
Rascalmyshadow replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Unfortunately legally if an altercation occurred I guess your dog would be in the wrong because it was the one off lead, however I think the other owners were quite irresponsible and have a lack of common courtesy. I never understand why people with dogs that can't be let off leash exercise them in off leash areas, they are able to take them anywhere else and are often the ones that cause problems. -
I have put our itchy rescue poodle on a strict elimination diet and it has given us about a 90% improvement. We use a dog food roll the brand is Prime and it's kangaroo and potato.

Congratulations on finding your foster the perfect home :) We have rescued on and off for years and it doesn't get any easier but over time you learn ways to deal with it. We have a rescue here that is going off to his new home on Thursday, they are a wonderful family with a young daughter and a similar type dog as a playmate, our boy took to them straight away he even went and had a sleep over before they decided. I am having a few mixed emotions but I know he will have a more suitable life than he has with us. I have it a little easier because many of my ex rescues come back to me for grooming which is awsome, some of them also spend the whole day with me so they can have a play with myself and my dogs.
