My girl is like this aswell, last time i had to sit in the box with her all day with her sitting in my lap (imagine an amstaff here, but this isn't unusual for my sookie girl), she wouldn't let me leave, after she finally whelped the bean bag just outside the box was my makeshift bed lol Looking just a tad pregnant here at around 40 days. Had a good laugh imagining you sitting with such a big girl on your lap having pups bit bigger than my toy poodles Not so laughable when its a 35 kg Labrador in your lap!!! These posts are bringing back memories....I remember sitting in the whelping box, amongst all the mess, with a cushion behind my head sleeping against the wall between the last couple of puppies. Ended up with an hours sleep, then had to get kids up for school. Aaahhh, the memories. I also spend a couple of weeks sleeping beside them. Not that I get much sleep with the way my girl snores. HAHA - oh dear - Hope you cleaned yourself up before you took the kids to school - LOL - that would have been a great look  mmm, sleepless nights - geeze I am looking forward to that again!!

Amstaff_Ambition I can only imagine how big your girl is going to get as time nears - she is looking rather preggy already I have a boxer boy who use to love sitting on our laps as a pup - now he is huge and still thinks he can fit in our laps!! so I am imagining this right now in trying to imagine your whelping experiences with a sookie staffy - LOL I am not too sure what to expect with this girl - my last girl I had since a pup so she was a real sook when it came to being pregnant and whelping - though she always was a mummies girl..... My other girl Teena who is expecting, I have not owned her very long - she came from another breeder late last year as a brood girl - but I have to say she is a sweet little thing and fitted in straight away, she loves company and is like a little shadow. I expect that she will be retired shortly from breeding, but stay here to live out the rest of her years - I am really quite fond of her!

Sorry to hear that things have not being going all too well for your girl! Hope she makes a speedy recovery and all goes well from now onwards! jess

heya Je2910! Thank you for that! I know, isn't July creeping up on us - only around 2 weeks till my girl is due!! I am in a mad rush to organise everything! We just bought a new place around a month and a half ago and due to work commitments and everything else we are still unpacking things, so I am hurrying around finding my whelping things - getting the whelping box and area ready for my girl!!! I feel so un-organised! Thank you for the well wishes as well All the best again. Jess xo

-
And here is her little belly not much really to see - LOL - She showed quite early but has not got too much bigger since. She is around day 47! I did not want to trim too much of her hair back as its not really necessary! Especially in winter

Here is a picture of my girl Teena who is expecting. This shot was taken in January so she is a little out of coat due to the extreme heat we were experiencing. She has coated up nicely with the cooler weather and now that she is pregnant!

He is beautiful - he will look lovely with the white blaze on face! they are all lovely - what a perfect litter, so well balanced colour wise and sex!!! Thank you for sharing the lovely photos!!

Just beautiful hesapandabear! You must be thrilled!! The boy with the flashy markings looks to have white markings on the forehead as well - Going off memory both your bi-blacks last time had no markings on their faces is that right?? I see that Odin does not! Is it better in your breed to have white markings on the face? With our parti poms it is not really specifically mentioned in the breed standards so you could show a parti with no markings on the face so long as there is 50% white to 50% colour ratio or more and patches evenly distributed! But amongst the breed it is "preferred" that there is a facial blaze which is even - so I do place some emphasis on the facial blaze when I decide on showing one - but regardless if it is quality then I will show it no matter what Is the marking a blaze or star - he will be different look altogether from Odin - but thats great as you want difference!!! Well done to you!!! So happy for you! Jess xo

Bordacollies4me I am sorry to hear your story! Thats not good, but I guess you got 4 beautiful babies and that is what counts! When was your girls last litter? I had a litter during december last year with my other girl and it was a stinker of a summer!!! I remember the temp hitting above 40 many times last summer! My girl stayed inside most of the time in the air-conditioning! I did not want to risk a thing with her, poor girl! I even remember the puppies crying because it was too hot - I use to put ice packs(wrapped in towels and put under the bedding)in the whelping box and they use to sprawl themselves over them! This is going to be my first winter litter as well - so I have the heat packs ready to go! At least I do not have to worry too much with keeping my girl cool, extreme heats that we have been experiencing lately is really risky on preggy girl so winter will be easier I hope - well its easier to keep them warm and cozy Judging the colours behind both parents my guess is that the black and white parti will be pretty dominant in this litter! I am hoping to get at least one girl to keep, my last litter in december was all boys, and I kept one for show, but have 3 boys now so I would be pushing it if I keep another for show!!! The parti coloured poms are not quite up to quality for show compared with the oranges, so my aim is to improve type and get them out in the show ring! So girls are valuable at the moment for me to work with in my program to improve type. I only have one parti girl who whelped the litter last december, I did not get any girls so this time I am really hoping I do as this will allow me to move forward! I wont be disappointed if I get all boys again, I love the experience of having a litter and its all great learning and experience, I will just have to be tough and not keep them all - lol - there will always be another time to try! Just a shame there are not too many parti colours or parti factored poms in Australia so I am trying my best to work with what I have! Anyway I wont bore you anymore with my life story - LOL!! thank you for the well wishes too. Jess.

Oh my what a rainbow litter - they all look beautiful!! almost like two sets of twins!!! love the colours and markings!! how many pups did she have last litter - or just the 4 that are pictured! I know what you mean - my girl is pretty close to yours with due dates and she was showing a belly around 2 weeks ago - she was scanned last monday although I was pretty convinced she was preg - but as I had her in for a health check etc we got the vet to confirm anyway and checked that everything was progressing well! Her belly is growing so fast - poor girl! Thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures - I can not wait to see what you get this time round, all the very best from now onwards
-

Fantastic news for you - all the very best to your girl and her unborn babies I hope I have done the right thing above - let me know if there is any problems with what I have written? Jess xo All looks good to me !! Is this your girls first litter ..My girl had three babies last time xx This girl is more experienced then I am LOL - She has had 2 litters with the previous breeder and I purchased her late last year - so this will be her first with me, but really it will be her third and then I might just retire her and kept her here as I am quite fond of her She has had a whopping 4 pups per litter which is quite a large litter size for a pom - But she is a relatively bigger brood girl so I guess she can fit more in there LOL I had a litter back in December which was my first to whelp on my own and a first for my kennel (although had assisted many times with breeder friends). My girl was a maiden as well so it did not go well for my first time - pup stuck, rushed off to vet for an emergency c-section on a sunday! hm?? But all in all we got 3 lovely pups and a happy healthy mum - that is all I could ask for. Teena my girl who is expecting now, she has been a free whelper with her 2 litters, breeder told me she just spits them out one after the other and would be a great girl to learn off, so maybe this time we can really experience a proper birth without too much complications!! Wishing you and your girl the very best! look forward to updates

Sorry for the delay in my response to your post SBT123! Very good points you have raised! This little puppy I sold was nice in type, had some nice attributes about him, was well marked for show in regards to being a parti colour, but at the time his brother Teddy who I kept was by far the pick - I felt the other pup had less coat at the time, his tail set was not to my liking nor his back end - if I were to be picky that is!! I was also a little concerned with the bite at the time - it appeared to be an even bite, and would some days appear undershot, so because I could not foresee the future and determine the jaw growth and because I had made my decision on the other boy I decided to sell as pet. So the first thing I need to do before worrying myself with everything is to check him out, check his bite, his back end and tail set and determine whether or not he is eligible to move up on main. Thank you for your help and advise - appreciate it a lot Jess.

Thank you Aziah for the link... as per your question, no this is the other puppy, I had 3 pups, one I retained the other 2 went as pets - this one is more correct in markings for show, the other not and that was the one I was having issues with the owner and unethical breeder... jess
