ok... want to hear a funny thing?? maybe just disregard what I wrote above ?? It looks like my girl is well on the way - went in and checked on her and there was fluid everywhere - vulva is quite dilate and she is panting and licking herself - nesting, rather edgy!!! I think we are going to have the puppies... will be in touch soon when I can really take on all this jess
-
oh there you go - well I have fingers, toes, tails and paws crossed here that things go well for the girl and the unborn babies!!! All the best Ausvarg!
-
Haha sounds as though your girl is shopping on the property market! Hope she settles soon and all the very best to you - things were sure getting quite these past few days so it will be exciting to hear something happening from someone soon. Still have not heard from Ausvarg - hope all is going well there too... Nothing much happening here - bit of nesting here and there, but mine always seem to nest at least a week before! My girl has been on and off food for days now - so I am very much in the dark as to when she will go?!?! I check on her constantly day and night - lol! I am sure things will happen soon enough - 63 days from her last mating makes her due as late as friday, so I will be very worried if things don't happen this week!

wowsie - thats a big Mumma!! lol She is looking good though - looks as though she is coping well!

wow - just amazing - I wish you and your girl the very best of luck from now onwards and look forward to updates and the arrival! Also good luck with the little one too definitely deserves a name like miracle or something along those lines -
oooo now this will be an exciting litter! All the best to you and your girl - Have added your details/litter to the list - look forward to hearing updates and news! Jess xo

Glad to hear things are progressing well Silverblue! Look forward to hearing the arrival of your litter - my friend just had a litter of cocker spaniels - she used an outside stud to her girl and got 2 black and tan girls, 3 golds and 1 black - I did not realise they came in black and tan - but they are oh so cute - and certainly one of my "wish I had" breeds I like the black and whites (do you call them parti's?) and the blue roans - very pretty!
-
Bordercollies4me - Ooo don't tempt me with all that chocolate!! and choc merles will be equally exciting - I personally have not seen one in the flesh - only usually the black and white, choc and white and I have met a tri-colour!! Never seen a blue or merle - I really need to take the time out of the toy ring and go explore as I always miss everything by the time the toy ring finishes judging - LOL All the best to you! jess
-
indeed! good luck and fingers crossed Ausvarg - will be waiting to hear the exciting news! Jess xo

She looks a little "over it" doesn't she!! She is a lovely looking girl - hope she produces some lovely puppies for you! Will you be expecting black and whites or are there chances of other colours as well? I am quite fond of chocolate and whites - I would love a choc white parti pom - but I really do not like my chances - besides that I should never put too much emphasis on colour - as much as I love chocs, quality, temp, soundess etc comes first and colour will pretty much last - well I just tend to leave that up for genetics to decide- LOL All the best to you and congratulations on the other litter as well - wow 10 puppies! they are going to be very busy people once those puppies find their feet

Well it is well and truly the month of July - So I keep coming in to check on the action - still not much happening I guess! How is Ausvarg and Bordercollies4me going - still hanging in there guys Sending all the good vibes out to those expecting... and lots and lots of healing vibes to both Natz and Jodie's girls Teena is coping well - she is starting to look as though she is about to pop - that belly of hers just grew so much over the past week - I will have to take some pictures - all puppies are moving around and playing football in there I think they are quite active little monsters - I can only imagine what they are going be like once they are out!! uh oh! Teena was very wild last night - she has been quite and on and off food for a couple of days, then last night she started frantically trying to get to me for comfort, trying to hide under me and looking at her bum, licking and nesting - so I thought to myself that it be any time now, so had a very long sleepless night watching over her - she calmed down and slept all night once the lights were out - wish I could say the same for me - today she is back to normal, not much nesting at all, and even ate a big helping of breakfast - I have noticed she is going to the toilet a lot today, so who knows - just have to keep a close eye on her. jess xo

5 weeks is way too young to leave for a new home - generally no pup should leave for a new home until it has been vaccinated and usually you allow 2 weeks after a vac before they leave - thats my vets opinion and the way I practice! Good advise given by everyone so far! I was going to add hot water bottle and some other things to mimic mum and siblings, but someone beat me to it All the best with puppy!

I am really sorry to hear your news with your girl Natz - what an ordeal for both you and your girl. RIP little puppies I hope your girl makes a speedy recovery - and sending all the good vibes I can find to your other girl expecting! I sure do hope this month improves with some good news from the other members expecting litters. We have certainly had a rough start so far with some very sad stories - my heart goes out to both Jodie and Natz!
-
oh no Natz - gosh this is all so terrible - I am just lost for words - what is going on with this winter! I have everything crossed for you! jess xo
-
Oh jodie - again I am just lost for words and just can not imagine what sort of pain you are in at the moment. I truly am so sorry this has happened - it's not good at all, especially when it should be a very exciting time and there has been such a build up to the arrival of the litter I guess you do have to thank your lucky stars that your girl is well. Did you use your own boy or use an outside stud? My litter in december started off this way, my girl got an infection which we presume was from mating. A few breeder friends told me to put any of my girls that I send off to be mated to outsides studs, to put them on a course of AB before they leave and when they come back? I have not tried this yet, but considering your case it might just help prevent this happening again. I hope your girl is doing fine and makes a full recovery. Take care. Jess xo

oh no! I am so sorry to hear your sad news! After all that time and excitement and now it seems like it is all fallen apart! I am so sorry - I can not find the right words at the moment, but I just feel so badly for you right now! You still sound as though you are in the early stages of your breeding program like me, so experiencing this so early in the peace would be just devastating! I really wish and pray that there is still hope - At least you picked this up early as your girl would be at great risk, so at least you have good chances at getting through all this with your girls health being ok. Sending you a big hug I am so sorry again

I am afraid I have never really used photo bucket - and I am pretty sure it wont like me either :D lol I just use the attachments on this forum - but the downfall to that is you have to keep within 200mg which is hard if you want to attach more then 1 or 2 pics! I resize all mine on photoshop using the "save for web" much easier, keeps pics big enough to view size wise, keeps them clear as well. sorry I can not be of any help. Update on Teena - Just checked my girl again, she is getting more and more quite these past few days - she has been eating really well, but this morning has only really picked at her food which is very unlike her - she LOVES her fresh mince, sardines, cheese and yogurt and chows it down in seconds, this morning not much of it has been touched - also noticed a fair amount of mucus (clear/cream clots) - I am starting to think that our slip matings may have been successful in the early stages of the matings - leads me to think she might be coming a lot earlier then first expected??? I estimated the 6th going off her 3rd mating as an average to go off with a few days prior - but noted in my diary the very earliest she could go which would be around the 1st of July and I guess factoring in that this is her 3rd litter but first with me.... luckily I had planned to be at home starting Monday just in case she did decide to come early as I just don't know with her - wish I could get through to her previous owner to find out more - I know she does tend to have larger then average litters for a pom, around 4 pups! Anyway I guess we will just wait and see. Jess.
-
woo hoo now that is a big belly - poor little darling she is definitely about to pop soon! All the best to you and your girl! jess
-
no problems at all mum-to-be looks like she is coping well - am she has that pregnancy glow lol all the best jess
-
Gosh they are growing quickly! Lovely little babies!! I love them all!!
-
Well the month of July is looming in quickly! Another 2 days to be exact! So thought I would get this in before any ones girls decide to go into labor early! Wishing everyone the very best with their coming litters. Hoping that everyone experiences complication free and safe deliveries of healthy happy puppies and equally healthy happy mums! First off the ranks AUSVARG due the 3rd-4th of July and BORDACOLLIES4ME due the 6th of July - wishing you both all the very best with it all! We are all very much looking forward to hearing your news and updates from now onwards :D Good luck to all Jessica xo

I too have calculated 60 days as this is Teena's 3rd litter and she has come around day 60-61 - I should change the date to more the 3rd of July - as now that we are getting close I am starting to think that she may not be that far off now. She is getting quite tired and nesting and just noticed discharge today (creamy colour) and she looks a little more swollen/pronounced around the vulva. She is still chowing down her food, so still think we have time to go... but I decided to stay home this week and work from home just to be sure as I have not had a litter from this girl before so I am learning how she does things - if it was my other girl then I would be able to read her like a book. I really hope your girl holds off for you in time to get the party out of the way - just keep it quite when you start saying party time as you don't want to confuse her with "puppy time" LOL Yes Teena, the black blob of the size of a basket ball will hurl over a 6-7 foot chain mesh fence - seen her do it many times at the other breeders place - Timber fences she can't get her footing or claws into so she is pretty confined here, but like I said as soon as she is out with everyone else and us she is happy and content - try confining her for some quite time and she will try and escape to get to company! She has calmed down a lot since moving here - and now she is too fat and pregnant to be bothered - LOL
-
Isn't it always the way that the party's on the weekend tend to bring on the labor - LOL! My friend 10 mins away has cocker spaniels! Her son had a birthday on the sunday about 2-3 weeks ago and the girl was not due until Wednesday onwards - She new there was a chance she would come early, but was hoping she would hold off! she came into labor as soon as people started arriving - LOL! I was at a dog show, but had she phoned me I would have rushed back to help her!!! She had 4 reds, 2 black and tans and 1 black - I am dying to see the black and tans - lovely
-
I'm feeling rather unorganised too! My eldest is having an 8th birthday sleepover next weekend, so fingers crossed that Faith doesn't decide to go early at the party. We are also planning on putting the whelping box in a different room as we have reno'd the dining room where we normally keep the pups, and OH isn't too keen on getting our new shiny floorboards all scratched up...wouldn't be much grip for for doggy paws anyway. I'm hoping the whelping box will fit in the other room as we got a little carried away and built one which would fit a Dane. Better get myself sorted this weekend methinks. :D HAHA sounds so much like us - I put in an order for a whelping box and I got two in one - so-to-speak - OH got carried away and built a whelping box which is probably more suitable for a medium sized breed or bigger - not for a tiny pom!! lol - but once we started using it I think it is probably not too bad - Mum can get enough room away from pups without having to leave the box, so can still keep a close eye on them! Yes all is changed here too, but not due to reno's - we have just moved into this house around a month and a half ago, so we have been scratching our heads as to where to set up the whelping box - first thought was laundry because Teena is a climber and an agile escape artist - she came to us like this and has calmed down a hell of a lot, but as soon as you crate her or pen her she gets into action at trying to escape to get to us! So at least she is not escaping to get out on the road or anything ;) I got home yesterday afternoon and got all inspired and cleaned and disinfected the whelping box, got it set up in laundry - luckily it fits perfectly and there is no means for teena to climb or escape so the laundry is quite perfect! Nice quite part of the house and right next door to my work room come art studio! So mid next week I have planned my work to be at home for the next 2-3 weeks, so I am right there to keep an eye on things! So we are slowly getting organised now, spending the rest of today getting all the whelping things together etc! Jess
