  1. I agree about will all said - merles are best left to the experienced - does she know not to breed a merle to merle?? or was it a double merle, to a double merle?? I can't remember - I know there are risks of getting defects like blindness, deaf puppies etc etc, something to do with producing a defective white (extreme merle) from breeding a double merle to another double merle..... its scary stuff.... but the other thing I don't quite like about the colour is that it is a recently introduced colour, so really there could be arguments on whether or not they are true purebreds. Thank you so much for offering to be in hand with this lady - she is truly lovely and I am glad to see her dreams coming true now - she always did want a Bundy Son. Hopefully you will get to meet him one day. Edward is doing well - he is dropping a bit of coat at the moment, but appears to be growing it as well ??? so I guess thats not too bad really - I have not been able to show him too much, but have booked in to a couple of shows this month which will be fun to get out again...
  2. Thanks all, I was quoted by another company $1,300 - I wasn't sure about it - to me I felt it was a little expensive? but then this is a first for me and that did include everything. I have sourced out approved vets in my area as listed on the AQIS and are happy to do that myself and anything else if that will keep the pricing down for the lady - will jetpets or dogtainer be happy with that?? And be prepared to pay GST on the cost of the pup and the cost of shipping when you try to get it from customs. You can tell them it is a pet until you are blue in the face won't make much difference. Although it does seem to be a matter of who you are as to whether or not you get charged, or even how much, so make sure you have a receipt from Jet pets that doesn't include vet charges, cause customs just see the total amount and charge on that. Hello Wyn, Is that for NZ pick up - or Australia? I know we were to expect to pay the GST when we picked up Edward our NZ boy - but lucky enough they appeared to have forgotten LOL! This pup is heading to NZ, cost of sending him etc will be up to the lady - I am just trying to make it easier on her pocket at the end of the day, so doing as much research into it - NZ have a higher GST don't they? 15% I think I heard?

  4. I have just bought a pom from Annette and she sent him over for me as well - I contacted her about it and she sent me onto some people here in OZ - so I don't know her reasons but she can't do it.
  5. No, not her - I am aware of her and have spoken briefly with her - my feelings is she is breeding colours for her own gain not for improving and preserving the breed. My puppy is booked in to be desexed prior to leaving - he is most certainly going as a pet to this lady in NZ - she is retired and wants desperately a black and white pom baby.
  6. Yes I told the lady about Maxine Young - but she felt her parti's looked like Papillions - Annette's parti's do not arrive until the end of the year and even then she wont be expecting pups from them any time soon - I would have preferred it if she bought from either of those breeders as I knew it would be costly for her as well as a lot of organising at my end too - but as it was a black and white boy was born and I decided not to keep him and she was very persistent - so I gave in No not to that lady - didn't know she was dappling in the merles...??? not my cup of tea - besides they are trying to rid the colour in the US standards which is the only country I think that accepts the colour???? They don't accept the colour here or in NZ I believe?? You will be able to correct me if I am wrong - LOL This lady just wants a pet, she lives in Auckland.
  7. Firstly congratulations on your expecting litter - hope all goes well for you and your girl. I breed Pomeranians - my first litter was born last December - After I had made my final decisions on keeping one for show I advertised the other two as pets and desexed - I certainly found it did clear out most of the "wanna be breeders" but I did get some that rung to ask if they could not be desexed, but with those inquiries it was pretty OBVIOUS what their intentions were so I just told them to go else where I have my second litter here now - they are 8 weeks and again I have advertised them being desexed but this time they will be desexed prior to leaving. I just want peace of mind that non of my pups end up in the homes of an unethical backyard breeder or puppy mill - not to mention our breed is hard enough to breed from when you are ethical and experienced - most of the time we sell tiny girls because they are far too small to bred with, so it is risky to sell entire, even with a desexing contract - you really can not be sure whether the purchaser will take your word for it or not and go ahead any way and breed them - So I get all my pups desexed if they are going to pet homes! I discussed with my vet at 7 weeks when they went in for their first shots about the early desexing for my peace of mind - I have just moved so I am new with this vet, but so far he has been fantastic and performs the early desexing for a Cav breeder and also for the RSPCA on both pups and kittens. I use my breed as an example as they are considerably small and I would think your breed because of its size you may be able to have your pups done earlier then I would - But my vet has mentioned that my pups have to make 1 kilo before he touches them. One pup is a big boy and is already clearing the 1 kilo mark, his brother has a little way to go. So looks like a few more weeks and they will get it done and leave for their new homes. But generally it is around 8 weeks onwards. Another pom breeder has been doing the early desexing for many many years and she swears by it - she finds the pups recover much faster then a 6 months old, I have also been told that it can also prevent boy pups learning to cock their legs, and also reduces testicular and ovarian cancers? All the best to you and your girl - may everything go smooth sailing and you get some beautiful healthy puppies and a happy healthy mum
  8. Hello all, I realise there has been many a questions regarding importing, exporting and pet transport/shipping agents - but have always found the search tool never works for me. So just a quick question... I need to send a pup to NZ - I have already imported from NZ, so have a fair idea on the requirements and know it is far easier then exporting/importing from the USA etc. I have been on the AQIS site to read through again the requirements. The pup is for pet purposes only - There are hardly any breeders in NZ who breed the parti, hence why this lady has come to me - She is prepared to go to great lengths in order to get one for a pet, so had contacted me in OZ to buy and have one sent over. I am in the process of trying to get quotes for the flights etc - Do I need to go through an agent, or could I just book a flight and carry out all necessary requirements myself, blood tests, export certificate, vet check etc??? Could I also ask of some reputable pet transport companies or shipping agents - As maybe it is best to go this way as I have never exported before. Thank you in advance Jess.
  9. and... Edited: don't know what happened?? hmm double post??
  10. lovely puppies - all so nice in their own way! I would not be able to choose! Although I am a fan of the choc and whites - they are little sweeties! Do their eyes stay blue or change? I know some breeds are born blue and change to a pale brown?? just interested! If we get choc and whites or chocolates in the poms they are always a pale brown eye - there would have to be another gene evident if they were to have blue eyes as well, although with blues it seems more common for them to have blue eyes!! Has anyone heard of the last two litters?? or did they laps to August?? Here is some pics of my bundles of fun
  11. Thank you all for your thoughts and kind words - I am doing better this week - its been 2 weeks now since Teddy's passing, still a huge shock and feel deeply lost without him, but have to keep going and keep positive for the others now - besides I have to very sweet bundles of fluff who I have to tend to and keep strong for. Sorry to hear about the puppies you lost Silverblue - that is not very nice at all and especially when they should be strong and thriving at that age!!! All the best wishes to those you still have with you, may they thrive and grow up to be healthy and strong! Bordercollies4 me your babies look oh so cute and boy they are growing so quickly now - thank you for sharing. Redkidsmum your babies are looking wonderful, glowing with health and look gorgeous - they are sure looking like poodle pups now My babies are doing well - they will be 5 weeks this coming tuesday! They are getting their coats now and looking more like a pom instead of a guinea pig! They found their feet around 3 and a half weeks of age and now they are running about and playing with each other - both have made numerous attempts of escaping from the whelping box, but we skillfully made it bigger then usual and a little higher so they wont be getting out yet - maybe next week - actually I take that back, I should not be laughing, once they escape that will be the end of life as I know it - LOL Any one got any ideas for names (call name and reg name)??? We are thinking of keeping the black boy, he looks really promising at the moment....
  12. Bordercollies4me, your puppies look lovely - boy do they grow up quickly!!! Lovely colours and markings - have you got any that you are keeping a close watch on?? Sorry all in sharing my sad news - I know it is off topic and this thread should be about sharing in the excitement of new life, but unfortunately my beautiful parti boy who broke his leg ended up passing away last sunday night!!! Again this is why I have disappeared again and not been good at updating this thread and sharing in everyones excitement. I am so devastated by his loss! He was my first bred baby! he was my pride and joy, my beloved pet, he was my everything - Life is never going to be the same - I am just heartbroken! Teddy caught a viral infection, nothing to do with the broken leg, however the vet did feel that because of his broken leg, the shock to his system and the effects of the operation may have weakened his immune system - The test came back that it was not parvo, but being such a small dog - weighing 2kg and having fasted for an operation twice as they postponed the op to the next day and just being put through all the stress it just happened this way and there was nothing anyone could have done to help him. He spent 3 days at the vets and fought his little heart out - he was just 8 months old and had a very big future! From his first ever show, it became quite clear that this boy was going to pave the way for the parti colours here in Australia - it was virtually unheard of a parti colour being awarded over a solid colour pom, and time and time again our Teddy knocked off the solid colours to win his classes and groups!!! I think to my knowledge he was only unplaced once which is just amazing. I have a picture of Teddy taken at 7 1/2 months old - just starting to come into himself!
  13. CONGRATULATIONS ANATOLIAN!!!!! Can't wait to see pics
  14. I know this is off topic - but in case I disappear again it is because my beautiful teddy is in a criticle condition at the vets. He broke his leg and was operated on, but unfortunately because of the shock and stress he managed to pick up a gastro virus and has been in the vets for 3 days now and the vet told us today to start preparing for the worse. I am truly devasted, it's been one thing after the other and I hate seeing him suffer! It's so hard as he was my dream boy, my first bred and my pride and joy, it's sad to think that his life will be cut short so soon at 8 months of age. I truly wish with all my heart that he pulls through as I am not sure how I will cope with his loss. I am sorry for putting such a dampner on this thread, but just so you all know, I might be delayed in updating the thread etc. A very big well wishes to all those still expecting litters. Jess

  16. and black and white boy - little Moo moo
  17. and black boy - who is oh so cute like a little black wombat
  18. Don't be silly you little puppies are equally divine! Gosh they have grown - they sure do look like poodles now!! mine grow but in comparison to everyone elses they are still so small - LOL - and they still look like Guinea pigs Our babies are 2 weeks and 2 days today both pups eyes are wide open now and they are trying to stand up, but still very wobbly and end up going back to belly surfing Note: no that is not a strange merle colour mum - that is their funky hot water bottle - they LOVE their hot water bottle ;)
  19. Thanks bordercollies4me. Your puppies look divine!!! so yummy and chocolatey - what an assortment you have there - I just can not choose!!!! LOL Mum and bubs look glowing with health - well done and all the best from now onwards. Jess xo
  20. Silverblue - your puppies look lovely - they look like a little join the dot to dot puzzle - LOL How many girls and boys did you have?? I will adjust what I have written on the list - sorry if I have missed the details somewhere - been a bit crazy here jess
  21. Hello all - a big thank you for all the support during our scary ordeal with Teddy - thanks for your kind words and thanks to Natz in sharing your experience!! Teddy pulled through with flying colours *cough* *cough* well he is a colourful boy, but you get what I mean He was full of beans when we picked him up from the vets, and they decided he could come home early - he slept all afternoon and enjoyed lounging around with us watching TV that night. They said there was no need for the plate, his break was clean and stable, so just a cast and strapping to keep him off the leg and all positive that he will heal well - fingers crossed. Yesterday he was hypo - but is good as he knows he has a sore leg, so he is easy to manage and the perfect patient - however today another trip to the vets as he is coughing, vomiting up nothing as he has not eaten since last night, not eating or drinking today - he is very quiet so he is on antibiotics and has been taken off the metacam (anti-inflam/pain killers) so hoping he starts improving. I took a pic of him today for everyone - his a little sad looking in the pic as he is not well still ;) he was the little orange and white boy that I had from the December litter - Chopperlodge, you might remember him but he has grown a lot, LOL - we just love him to bits, he is very special to us
  22. Hello all! Firstly congratulations Silverblue and Hellierdogrescue on the arrival of your litters, sorry to hear about the little girl not making it I have been out of action recently so I apologise for not updating the thread! My special parti boy, my first bred show boy and my love of my life, broke his leg on Friday, so I have not been in the right frame of mind at the moment as I am worried about him getting through the op tomorrow to straighten the break and set the bone - I am hoping everything works out and that they find it is not as bad once they take a proper look - fingers crossed for my Teddy so I promise to come on asap to fix everything up and catch up on the updates and properly congratulate those who have had puppies. Jess xo
  23. Oooooo look at all the cute little puppies! So gorgeous bordercollies4me.
