or maybe with it being summer people don't want to go to a show that starts for most breeds at 12 noon.

KCC Park is a JOKE when it comes to regulations .... If it's outside on the front lawn there are ALWAYS cars parked illegally on the driveway. If it's inside then there are ALWAYS cars parked illegally on lawn areas. Generally by people who should know BETTER... but obviously think the rules don't apply to them. I am never early :laugh: :laugh: I have to walk a bit further ... I have to set up a bit further back ... no big deal ....

Very "American" :) Happens already with reserved marquees at Sunbury Cup Day ... I would at a Breed Specialty ... couldn't be bothered at an AllBreed show. I've suggested in the past to our Breed Club to look at reserved grooming areas and even reserved front row seating as a source of additional funds. The Breed Nationals I go to in the USA do it and it's great ...

when I was show secretary for a club it would have driven me nuts if everyone rang to tell me they've posted entries :)

or it may mean that now with the limit on the number of shows that some very successful dogs who are not shown "week in week out" can now have a better chance against those who are shown every weekend all over the place :)

well thank you but there is no need to get narky, I've already changed the appointment once to follow what was in Vic Dog, now I will change it again. If you knew there was a typo why not correct it when the schedule first came out instead of waiting till the last week? I have passed the info on to the other Grp 4 people I know coming who are still under the impression Grp 4 is 2nd on, on the Friday. can see why you're confused .... yes - next to the judges name it says 4 & 6 .... BUT .. in judging order it says "6 & 4 (Friday)" ... good to see corrections posted here and on fb etc ... hopefully no-one will miss out.

It's a great link ... all in one place - terrific !!!! I hope people still continue to post Group results on the Show topics though as there are some not competing in the pointscore.

OMG ... I can't believe you said that :D :D to many it is very serious stuff indeed .. including quite a few in your own breeds. I'm sure you'd have to agree that you'd be disappointed if you won ResCC & RUBIS at one of the Breed Specialities you attend over here and received NO points in the Breed competition. I thought I might be tempted back to the Breed pointscore after not having participated the last couple of years (having won the BOB pointscore in 2009), but I won't be in its present format as I don't believe it recognises the Breeds "top" dogs correctly.

I think you missed the point. Separate powderpuff/ hiarless as in short and log coated chi's Yes other breeds should be separted as in Europe. 4 different coloured cavs, 2 different coated Griffons. I disagree I don't believe there should be seperation of any breed based on coat/colour if the variation can be produced in a single litter.

have checked with the VCA and you are right, OVCC will be following the printed judging order. I have adjusted the website. thanks for the update ........

yep .. I agree with you on that. I'm lucky in that one of us can always stay at home ... even though my dogs are more comfortable than we are .. they have dog runs in our double garage which is under the house (and double bricked) ... it's LOVELY down there

and I'm sure others were not that close to the venue ... travelling across the city. I don't care what the temperature was at the Park ... I could have gone, shown in my breed (early breed) and then come home .. I chose not to as the forecast for Melbourne was 40c. It was always forcast to be 38c + and something should have been done by the Club.

probably sometime after 6th January which is final date for submissions for 2011.

fair point SwaY ... but most people make there decision on the forecast for the day ... not what it might be when they get there ... if there is a high absentee rate then it will be over early .. and some will say they avoided the hottest part of the day and were home by then .. yes, BUT only because so many people stayed home !!!!

will be interesting to see if the actual figures will get posted anywhere (and the results...)

just to set the record straight the new rules are; •Where we are notified that more than 50% of dogs have been marked absent from the total entry of a show (for whatever reason), the points for wins will be allocated on a sliding percentage of the points an exhibitor would normally receive as per the table below. Where possible, if we have to make adjustments to a show, the calculation for Group points will be based on the absentee level of each respective group. ◦More than 50% of dogs absent - 50% of normal points will be awarded ◦More than 75% of dogs absent - 25% of normal points will be awarded

I too have been at evening shows at Durack ... very pleasant indeed ... If this show had to go ahead I can't believe the start time wasn't amended .. as you say ..the "diehards" would have been there at whatever time it was changed to. It was always predicted to be 38c + so action should have been taken on Friday.

I agree Sway ... and it's "breed" so a Specialty win should be rewarded somehow ... Have to say the other thing I don't like is nothing for RUBOB (if you weren't a CC winner) .. but I do understand it's called "Breed Challenge" .. but in my opinion it may not necessarily reflect the "best" overall.
