There are many photographers out and about at shows these days .... happily snapping away ..... usually they end up on websites or facebook for you to look at and order if you want. One important part of this in my opinion is that the photographer lets it be known where the photo's will be so that you can view them and if you don't like them or they aren't particularly good shots (for whatever reason) you can ask for them to be removed. I have purchased quite a few pics online and these were pics that at the time I didn't know where being taken - they're sometimes the best .... VBG

Who's Doing The Seymour Double This Weekend?
Dellcara replied to cazzie's topic in General Dog Discussion
and the winners are ???? -
I agree Justine ... if our Cavalier KCS Clubs get a NBC I'd hope for the same thing .... but a "National" should be more than just a show anyway in my opinion. The Nationals I've attended in the USA are fantastic .... going over 4 days .... seminars, workshops, dinners .....
-
no surprise that I voted "No CC's Australia wide" .... it's unfortunate that the show schedules discussec didn't mention that no CC's were on offer .. but really ... who doesn't know when their National show is being held ????

posted on OzShow this morning .... "Blossom" has been found and reuntied with her owner

Yes, that has happened here too, and they are breeders who we shouldn't lose. The ones who were taking the breed forward in the best possible way. Interestingly, I have spoken to 2 of the oldest and best respected breeders in the country, and neither has ever seen SM, although they do know quite a bit about it. having been in the breed for 30+ years ..... I think many "old" & "respected" breeders whilst they might not have seen it may well have had some suspicions. and ... yes - most of us know quite a bit about it ... and that was before PDE !!!
-
only result I know is BIS ... The Italian Greyhound "Grand Ch Wondoan Wun Swanky Yanky" .... go the Toys !!!!

and who's fault is that ? you can't blame the rest of the country because you don't have enough shows ...... anyway ... back to the original topic re National shows ..... this one in particular was for GSD's .... doesn't Tassie have a GSD Club? Are they part of the National Breed Council? and its the National Breed Council that determines that show & date .... WOW, no need to be hostile, was just a comment. sorry "Shaar", didn't mean to come across as hostile ... I suppose the question I have is "why are there not more shows in Tassie"? but thats probably another topic...VBG

and if it was a "National" ban on CC's there would be NO confusion ..... and of course EVERYONE would know when their National is on so they wouldn't turn up at a show expecting to be able to win CC's

if Tassie people (who have a National) feel that strongly about it .. have you lobbied the National committee to try to get dates that don't conflict? ...just a thought ... my opinion already expressed is that it's a National and should have "National" focus (no other CC's awarded). I do appreciate that it is difficult for some but people manage if they want to and can afford to .... doesn't tassie get really good interstate entries for it's Royals & circuits round that time ?
-
It's a "National" .... in my opinion there should be no other CC's available throughout the whole country !!!! Of course not everyone will attend ... for many reasons..... but its 1 weekend ....and that should be the focus for that breed.
-
just what we need .... a "typo" and someone in the office getting it wrong......
-
no no no ..... LOL So glad it still says 5pm (thats long enough) - I'll happily battle the traffic There are Sweepstakes each day(except Friday 24th) starting at 6pm, so if people want to stay longer you probably can .......... So many Sweepstakes !!!! with many of them on the Monday / Tuesday ... bit of an "anti climax" isn't it with BIS being judged on the Saturday ?
-
Here in Vic the Res Challenge Certificates are 40c each ...... it certainly wouldn't hurt all Clubs to have some on hand. As has been mentioned peviously ... a "cheap" PR excercise to encourage exhibitors.
-
no results from anyone yet ?????
-
I have a table breed and I see this happen regularly. Usually with the exhibit who's first in the class .... after that you're ok .... if you can't set your dog up by the time the previous exhibit has done their triangle etc then that's your fault.
-
very strange that the breeder who originally wanted to retain rights to use the dog at stud is now happy for the new owners to rehome .... if this was recent then the breeder should of course take the dog back and refund the money ...

some results... BIS: Afghan (Hamilton's) RUBIS: Mini Poodle (Missen) 1: Pomeranian / RU - Cavalier KCS 2: Kerry Blue 3: Irish Setter 4: Afghan / RU - Whippet 5: Aust Sheppard (I think) 6: Pyrenean Mtn Dog 7: Mini Poodle

the weather forcast can work both ways ..... they might forcast 35 and it could end up being 38 .... and the show will go ahead ..... it's a case of ... enter at your own risk .... I did wonder about the Levies.... but then they would probably say if they lost levies from shows they would have to put our fees up .... a no win situaiton :-)
-
I too am pleased we have a "definite" policy ..... I wonder whether the 2 days prior is done to provide enough notice to judges as well who might be flying in ? ... it's not just exhibitors effected. Show committees will have to start considering their venues and hold twilight shows ... I know there will of course be some who don't have the desired venues but there are many country towns etc with sports ovals that have lighting. Probably additional expenses but if exhibitors want shows they may have to put up with increased entry costs.
