Biss- Should You Enter Property Classes?
Dellcara replied to Irish Lassy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd defintely withdraw from the Property Classes (with the exception as mentioned of Sire/Dam) ... If you've just won BIS or RUBIS ... stay on that high and let the others have a win -

are we taking bets ? -
probably more to do with your continual "doom & gloom" and "breeder bashing" on an almost daily basis on any forum you can find.

They have something similar to this in brisbane. The dog must be benched at all times not left in trolley, they can be in wire crates on the bench BUT you cannot cover them up. They must be on display at all times. yes they do .... what we did at Brisbane Royal was to actually put our trolleys in the bench - but, yes, they ha to be uncovered at all times even when you took the trolley into the assembly area.
-
I do remember reading something like that in the stuff that comes out with numbers etc .... If they ever inforced that then I would NEVER enter. I have always had my dogs in crates or in their trolley.

If she did end up tjhe only one in her class then you would have to go in for the challenge. Then if she's the only one how would she react if the judge refuses the CC ? Listening to comments by some judges there are many breeds that have exhibits with incorrect mouths. You just need to be fully aware that going in the ring with an obvious fault handicaps you right from the start. cheers

BBJ must be a bit slack ... hahaha.... it's all over for today and no results from you? I heard BIS was a Dandie Dinmont ... RUBIS a Borzoi cheers

Tthere are "jeans" and then there are "jeans" .... LOL I've seen people show in jeans with a smart jacket and they've looked great. When I first started showing (many years ago..VBG) people were far more casual.

Not always I suppose it depends on the Club. I know for a fact (having been on committee), that a large show will always see committee interacting in one way or another ... committee members are often working hard all day and will cross paths with judges ... For most Allbreed shows I see no reason why committee can't get someone else to handle their dogs - this is seen printed in show schedules now and then. Yes, I know there are always going to be exceptions .... the main one being Specialty Shows ...

In the US & UK if there's a "conflict", they will get the dog to do a lap of honour and then excuse it from the ring, with an announcement made so people know whats happening. Is that done here?? Would be the perfect solution in my opinion.

Glad to hear the breeder is taking the puppy back ..... lets hope if not kept it will have a lovely pet home. Mentioned in the original post that the buyer had other judges look at the pup and all was good ... so presumably they bought on the breeders opinion and that of the others .... now a different? group of people have said it's no good ... if I was the breeder I too would be taking the pup back and they certainly wouldn't be getting another from me....

I'm sure the Club will take into account the many opinions expressed over the weekend and "streamline" things for next year... There were quite a few "confusing" aspects which I'm sure will be improved upon.... Congratulations to the committee for trying something different.
