  1. I have used it in the past and was happy with the results .... to be honest I find the product range to vast and confusing ... Am now trialling the new "panagenic" range and am so far very happy.
  2. I'd much rather mouth my own dogs ... and I have shown under quite a few judges who have asked for this. The original post mentioned "provided the exhibitor knows the correct way to do this" ... let me tell you .. there are a LOT of judges out there who do NOT mouth dogs correctly.
  3. It did look confusing when first posted now it's explained it's understandbable ... How fortunate for the 165 entries delayed by Aust Post that they got received. Hope the Sec. gets the appreciation she deserves on the day.
  4. And look at the massive Terrier Grp was it a typo in the number sheet?
  5. Haven't done it myself (yet ..LOL) but know people who have ... with success. Friends of mine did it as they had decided to have a final litter from there bitch who had produced well for them ... they had 2 dogs they were deciding between and decided to use both. The results ... 5 pups - 2 by one sire, 3 by the other .... Another case was they wanted to use an "older" dog who was a bit "hit and miss" .. they used him and his son .... the result .. 3 pups .. all by the older dog they were happy.
  6. Doesn't suprise me at all to be honest .... in my breed the entries can vary between 10 & 40 depending on the judge at Melbourne shows. Group entries can be as low as 100 and up to 250 .... People learn fast .... and like me they have better things to do with their time and money. Show Committees need to learn ... poor entries should be sending you a message ...
  7. yep ... totally agree with you on that .... many losers will use it as an easy excuse
  8. well ... It is a FACT that I won't enter shows under judges that I happen to KNOW are face judges.
  9. same here .... if it ever happened then I'd say good-bye .......
  10. exactly .... and it depends on what you mean when you say "soundness" .... it's a very "loose" term bandied about by many. a slightly wide front - a slightly close rear end are things I would forgive for other hallmarks of the breed. light eyes, foreign expression are thing I would not forgive in my breed.
  11. I'd be getting a proper check at the vets .. and also have progesterone testing done.
  12. Disappopinting but understandable I think ..... After being at the show all day and then having to go through all the pics and upload would be a big ask.
  13. I received mine in the post today .... and they look GREAT ..... thanks Donna :-)
  14. A regulation that I don't agree with. Not everyone can afford a stud fee straight up ... and who wants to hand over a form without payment ?? I have a "friend" who has a written contract that has a clause in it ... "I .... acknowledge that the signed stud form has been handed to me the owner of the bitch. I have handed to form back to .... to hold until final payment is made".
  15. some interesting replies .... well ... I most certainly DO charge more for a main registered puppy.... having said that I'm not talking 8-10 weeks ... I have a waiting list for show potential pups and anything considered suitable is run on for longer, so YES .. a lot more effort is put into pups that I consider good enough to be shown and included in a future breeding programme.
  16. good .. we don't want a thread for every different supplier ... LOL Glamour Show Leads look very nice ... is there a name behind the brand?
  17. Adding my congrats to the Committee on a job well done .... a lovely show, great venue - beautiful weather .... I only attended on Sunday but heard many compliments from people re the whole weekend. Many congrats "Bohunt" & "Yurrugar" ... and of course I was thrilled to title my Cavalier "JJ" with Best in Group :-)
  18. well done SwaY and "Shimmer" .... and thanks for the results
  19. are you seeing more than I am SwaY ?? I marked this website a wjhile ago as one to watch but nothing much has changed .... hardly a "guide" to dog shows ... there's no dates etc ... half the States have nothing in them ... and I can't see any references to accomodation (except camping)
  20. There is never going to be a "perfect" system that all people will agree with totally. You can't penalise "minority breeds" and say they must get something in Group to go towards a Ch title. There are breeds that don't have 6 pointers but the quality might still not be there in the entry. It all comes down to the judge awarding the CC. Yes, removing Champions from winning CC's would "cheapen" the title - as it does in the US (in my opinion).
  21. now that's a different story the topic started with the question about a "Champions Class" .... I responded in the negative so as not to "cheapen" our titles... if you were to ask about a "Gr Champion Class" then my answer might be different..... LOL .... and this is not because I can't beat them .. I have 3 Grand Champions here with me now. I would not object to having them shown in a seperate class and still go on to win Breed etc but maybe not collect anymore points.
