THere are heaps of dog friendly apartments in the CBD. And great walks for them. If you do decide to rehome, then you should not visit - it is totally unfair on the dog. THe employment opportunity would have to be out of this world for me to rehome a dog of that age.

Well based on that, we humans had better stop drinking cow's milk:-) I can tell you that we and all the other breeders who use goats milk find the pups thrive as tho their mum has heaps of milk. We also use a 'formula' of goats milk, yoghurt and honey which an excellent breeder vet developed.
-
You expressed that so well - totally agree with you:-)

I stopped using all that sort of thing years ago. We use goats milk and swear by it.

I would love a hydraulic one so my oldies can simply walk into it, but am very happy with my booster bath with mains hot and cold and jet hand piece. I actually don't like all the ones that have a solid base. I like being able to have my feet under the bath, so I am not having to lean forward. Mine is outside, and I put an umbrella up if its too hot. We also put hand showers as well as a fixed shower in both bathrooms, for really cold weather:-)

I would send blood to Sydney university and test for CL. ALso be good to have his DNA extracted and stored for any research on BCC.

I am stunned to read this, because years ago the RAAF bought a program from us to keep track of the dogs and their 'pay' so it could be used for the dogs in retirement! Now i don't know what's been happening.

Oh Jelly, of course you don't feel good -its one of the hardest things we do, and even tho we know we do it for them, it hurts like hell. And then I always second guess myself, and then there's simply the enormous hole in your life. I know you are hurting now, but you did everything and more that could be done for Roo, and your decision was based on what was best for her. Take care

Neighbor Complaining About Barking..

I would board your dog first so you have proof the woman is making it up. Then have a lawyer draft a letter and send it to the council for forwarding to her. -
Pseudomonas Infection Now Antibiotic Resistant
temperamentfirst replied to jessg's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I had a dog with golden staph. all antibiotics failed. I put her on Manuka honey and used manuka wound gel on the wound. Miraculous turn around. Vet was stunned! It is really worth trying, but make sure the honey is factor 10 or above. -
Onwards With An Itchy Dog..

I found no wheat, very little red meat, corn oil and fish oil worked wonders! -
WE put it in a few years ago - best thing we did. It had to go from one side to the other, and we have instant gas hot water. The only problem now is the really cold weather - maybe a shed around the bath next:-)

Here We Go Again, This Time Sa's Turn?
temperamentfirst replied to luvsdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
[Quote: About 64 per cent of dogs and most cats with a permanent home are desexed. In evidence to the committee, RSPCA Australia said pet owners who refused to desex their animals should have to pay an extra fee of $20 to $30 to become a registered breeder to combat backyard breeding. The RSPCA also called for all dogs and cats to be desexed before 12 weeks of age unless their owner planned to breed them. Any owner who did not desex their pet would have to register as a breeder even if they had no immediate plans to breed. The Dog and Cat Management Board supported compulsory desexing and microchipping. Quote] I find these points ludicrous. I'm not against desexing my dogs but will not early desex because of allowing for proper developement. I would think this would open the gates for joe public to think they had a "right" to now indiscriminately breed their non-pedigree dogs after paying the small extra fee on their council registration. What do you think? all of this on top of the NSW Companion Animal taskforce paper. Interesting that the new head of RSPCA SA was until recently the CEO of AWL NSW and a key pusher of the proposals of the CAT!! -
Gentle uphill work strengthens the back end. Think of a horse trotting up a hill and how the hindquarters are working:-) I was told to do uphill work for one of mine and it made a huge difference.

Gnarla's Story

Why not put a notice up that all have been adopted now. Could they be taken eg to AWL in Sydney for adoption? I am happy to help with costs or meet up to move them. -
Dog Walkers Sydney North Shore?
temperamentfirst replied to temperamentfirst's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thank you :) -
Does anyone know a good dog walker based near the West Pymble area of Sydney? It is for my elderly parents' English Cocker Spaniel. I take her out with our dogs, but we don't want her to expect to be taken with us every time we visit. She is very good natured and reasonably trained.

It definitely helps my girl. Friends have also used it for their dogs and again it has helped. Trying it myself for a bulging disc and it is helping. If it is the professional I get it from, then relax:-)

IF the dog is reacting by seeing the baby as a threat, given his relationship with you, then possibly a new home will work.

Gnarla's Story

Just a thought - you could try giving him Manuka honey - it has done wonders for my dogs, as it is a natural antibiotic and also helps with fungal and viral conditions. It certainly will not do any harm, and may do a lot of good. -
New Survey For Dog, Cat, Bird And Rabbit Owners
temperamentfirst replied to tjhowell's topic in General Dog Discussion
They didn't ask any questions about our pet chooks:-( And the cat was quarantined so had no socialising as a kitten - it looks like I'm a bad cat mum but terrific dog mum:-) -
What is the reason for the honey. Manuka Honey is great for a lot of things, it is anti fungal, and anti biotic. We had foster kittens with ringworm, and manuka cream made a huge difference. Tried manuka on my girl with hotspots - again an amazing result! THere is also a manuka wound gel, and manuka cream which are great for putting on wounds and skin problems. but of course you have to stop them licking it.
