I'm not a crazy woman who goes around belting my dogs in case anyone was thinking I constantly hit her. I was quite worked up and that was my first reaction to smack her bum & put her out the back.. My bad. I think I need to read up on crate training.. & how big of a crate to get. I just got rid of the one I had as it was far too small for her and she never went in it without a fuss. So I'll read up on crate training and most likely buy a new, larger crate. Around how big do you think the crate should be? Thanks

I was looking for some advice on how to punish kyra when she destroys our house, she jumped the baby gate from the laundry last night to get into the living areas and destroyed things out of the bathroom, lounge room and ripped out all the bedding from the rat cage. I got out of bed and found her chomping on an oven mitt and my first reaction was to smack her and put her outside, but after thinking about it I was wondering if I should have done that and if I could have gone about it in a better way when she does something like this.. it isn't the first time she's destroyed half the house.. i want to get her out of this asap. Any advice would be great please..

I wouldn't go through any breeder that had males and females at different prices unless there was a good reason behind it, not just for the sake of it & the girls can breed I was taken for a ride when I was puppy hunting before I got Kyra, the rescue organization sexed my pup wrong and then wanted an extra few hundred because the opposite sex was going for more! yeah, good luck with that as far as I'm concerned. Good on you for choosing another breeder, from the way you've posted his/her responses to you, they seem quite ignorant. Good luck finding your pup!

Advance Puppy, my two love it and it's always easy to grab when I'm at the Vets or Better pets and Gardens

I forgot to say, could I please have mine in sort of a purple colour with another nice colour as the writing of their names... So many requests lately so little offers haha whenever anyone is ready, that's fine with me

Thank you for that cavsrcute.. it makes a lot of sense. That is what the vet was telling us, that something else was causing the problems here, not the heart itself so an extra passage way or another organ were a few things he mentioned. Thanks for sharing that

Peibe why the no comment about the breeder? is that because she sold a pup with an illness or the refund part? this is the first registered breeder I've ever been through so i thought that was quite fair feel free to pm me instead.. Here are two photos of the little rat bag. I can't believe how attached I am to him already and vice versa. I love him in his little army t-shirt

I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your little dog and I hope she recovers well. Poor little girl. Hugs to you both.

Yes.. it was a very similar thing, reason why we're so worried & stressed at the moment. We got up in the middle of the night to find him passed away in the bathroom.. so suddenly, the vet said his heart packed in. That's all we got from it..

Oh thank you everyone for the kind words The ultrasound showed that he does not have anything wrong with the heart itself, something makes his heart beat go uncomfortably fast which is causing the murmur. The vet said his heart beat was up to 300 beats p/m which is far too high. The next step is another test - ECG if I remember rightly to see what is making his heart beat so fast. We have to wait yet another week for this as apparently there are only a few of these machines around now, as they are hardly used. Our vet is trying to locate one and get it to the clinic for us. In a way I'm very relieved it's not the heart itself, but I'm still worried as to what could be making his heart beat so abnormal, he's not allowed any activities that could make him hyper, he just has to relax around the house until we find out what's going on in there. Thanks again for all the good wishes for Brodie

One more sleep until I find out if it's good or bad news... Please cross your fingers for him. If he will be fine with medication I'll be so relieved.

RIP sweet Sophie I'm so sorry for your loss... how heartbreaking

Thanks everyone :D Don't know as of yet, will find out on Monday after the ultrasound..

Oh, bummer but thanks for that. I'm so worried for him..

Thank you Is it possible to get a pet insurance to cover some of the costs I will be facing or is it too late because he already has the issue? Correct me if I'm wrong but do some insurance places not cover illnesses they have before insuring them? I'm looking into vets own & RSPCA at the moment but just wondering. The ultrasound on Monday is going to cost $350 + extra cost if he has to be sedated and if he needs surgery, I'm guessing a few thousand. I'd of course still pay it without insurance but obviously, I'd like all the help I can get :D

I'm just posting here for advice, stories and outcomes of heart murmur in puppies. Yesterday, at our visit to the vet for Brodie's booster vaccination, we found out he has heart murmur. :D His heart beat was 250 beats a minute and the vet said something sounds very wrong, I contacted his breeder in tears - I tend to take these things too much to heart, and explained what we were told, she went on saying she was so sorry and had no idea and that she would be more than happy to refund half of his purchase price, which IMO is more than generous. He is going for an ultrasound, Monday afternoon to find out what's going on in there. Now from what I understood from the vet, it can be something as simple as needing medication to control it or needing surgery, and if worse comes to worse, PTS. I just recently lost my little man Rusty to a heart issue and this is absolutely crushing me at the moment... If anybody else has experienced this I'd love to hear your stories and what the outcome was. The few days wait until Monday, is driving me crazy, I can't help but to think the worst. Please cross everything for my little Brodie.. Dunno what I'd do if I lost him too.

My dog was mad about eating cat poo when she was very young, we bought a baby gate and blocked off the laundry so the cats could jump over it but Kyra couldn't get in. We still use it and haven't had any problems.

Just adding some more photos of Brodie in case the others aren't worth using. I don't mind which ones end up being used. Thanks in advance if anyone offers. xx

Hi guys No he did not do any xrays, he felt her tummy and said she seems to be uncomfortable when he presses certain places so there seems to be some sort of blockage and gave me two lots of meds. That's when he said it's most likely due to eating something she shouldn't have... she was also due for a parvo vaccination but he didn't want to give it to her until she was better, so next week he made an appt for her to come back. She hasn't been looking sick or anything - she ate a mouthful of dry this morning and that's it so far. I tried giving her some leftover scrambled egg but she wouldn't touch it, she usually loves eggs. I hate it when they won't eat, stresses the life out of me.
-
Alright - forget it :D just been to the vet and she has a blockage in her stomach which would be why she isn't eating. :D She's on two lots of anti biotics to hopefully clear it up.. The vet thinks she's eaten something she shouldn't have and it's blocked up.. Well I'm certainly glad I took her for a check up.

Just wondering what some good things are to put weight on a pup? Kyra has gone off her food - hasn't eaten yesterday or today and she doesn't appear to be putting weight on, infact she looks as though she's loosing it. I'm taking her to the vet in 2 hours to grab some worming pills incase that's anything to do with it and also to get her checked out, but what is something I can get to help get her interested in food again and put on some weight? I'm having problems galore with her lately.. it's all sending me a bit mad :D
