  1. we get all our vegies free from the local fruit and vegie shop go ask your local ones, they have to throw stuff out if its bruised or dropped on the floor. IMO thats still OK for the dogs!!
  2. it would depend alot on the dogs. My boys when i first had them both (got one before the other) i wouldnt have put them together because they were still sorting things out. now a few years down the track and they share some of the tiniest sleeping spots and sometimes cuddle up into a crate or kennel together eta: they are both desexed. one done at 6 months and one was a rescue so at a guess he was done at about 5 yrs. both still mark occasionally
  3. lol not sure actually. Sweep puts his tail between his legs too when he sees the tubey thing. i know he hates the feeling of even rain drops on him. do you dogs dislike being wet?
  4. No, juice and feed the pulp or blend them. If you haven't fed raw before, I suggest you do a bit more reading before making the switch. It takes a bit of effort to get a balanced raw diet. agreed. potatoes need to be cooked, raw is not good for them.
  5. As few as a handful of raisins or grapes can make a dog ill eta: it leads to acute renal (kidney) failure pumpkin is good for regulating poos. my guys get some every night. potatoes should only be fed cooked, preferably mashed. Veggies pureed raw or can be steamed (whole raw veggies, such as broccoli or carrot sticks, are not harmful but can't be digested by dogs so they don't get any nutritional value from them). Good veggies include carrots, celery, all kinds of greens (kale, collard greens, mustard greens, bok choy, cabbage, spinach, chard, parsley, cilantro, etc.), lettuce (anything but iceberg, which is not very nutritious), broccoli (in small quantities), brussel sprouts, zucchini, asparagus, turnips, parsnips, etc.
  6. you are taking all the nutrients out by cooking
  7. thanks everybody for the replies. :p its interesting the varied ways and times people worm their dogs.
  8. did you get to the vet? what was the outcome? Parvo is a very fast moving virus and its horrible to see a dog trying to battle it
  9. so.. do all brands and types of wormer protect against the worms? or just get rid of any that are in their body? so much speculation on it all when i try to research on the net!
  10. thats good info, can i ask where its from? just wanna back it up and put in it my book all flea products will tell you to wait 24-48hours after washing your dog to apply the treatment as any kind of washing will strip the coat of the sebum. and if you apply right after a bath dogs and cats can get contact irritations from the liquid as it just sits there and doesn't move true about the waiting period. and never thought of that when applying straight after a bath. hmm interesting.
  11. So you would give a 3 monthly wormer every 12 months approx? Just checking I got it right
  12. i thought so too pebbles... had to start a poll
