  1. Thanks Tlc It's insanely easy to do if you have Photoshop, here's how: - Create a new canvas with whatever measurements you like and a transparent background - Go to the type tool (T) and type out your preferred watermark, for instance Tlc photography - 2009 - Play around with the size, font and format until you've come up with something you like - Go to Edit > Define Brush Preset, name your new brush and hit OK - Go to your brushes (B) , scroll down to the bottom of your list and your new watermark brush will be sitting there Another way to do it would simply be to have your watermark typed out in a saved document so that you could copy and paste it onto your photos. If you like the look of mine, I've just given the font an outer glow and reduced the fill opacity to 0% ETA: Oh, I don't think I'll get around to today's photo, I'm having a really lousy day. Thanks so much, I will have a play, I have PS but still learning. Sorry to hear your having a bad day, hope tomorows a better one!!
  2. Hi Guys, all awesome pics again so far today and the rest of Yesterday. MTD to answer your question about what sort of Dog Cooper is, some of you may not talk to me again he is a Cocker Spaniel x Poodle. All 4 of my dogs are, Cooper looks a bit different than the other 3 as his parents were already Poodle crosses. I hope no one holds this against me. I love my dogs like everyone else here and enjoy everyones photos and storys so much, however I am used to occasionlly being ignored and I understand that on a pure bred forum. Id also like to add, I didnt get any of my dogs from a pet shop or a puppy farm, just incase anyone was wondering...now onto business TerraNik, I love the sign, it is so rustic and the border really suits it....(how do I do the borders they look great) Jay C Your Doggie is georgous, very laid back pics, Love them!! Iltby, I love Patient and confused, is there any tutorials I can look at to do my own signiture mark on my photos?? Kirislin, loving the from pics. 6. Yes so true it is very hard to have to think about it each day which sounds really silly I know. It was later on this evening when I had to think oh better get snappin, now what can I shoot!! and I was trying to get the cat but he was not happy so hubby was pruning, I think sometimes when you are really thinking about it, nothing comes to you it is the ones you do randomly that are the best. Id love to see some of your other jetski ones have you posted any of them on face book, you should they are great!!
  7. 8. 9th January....No pic for today 10th January I was on my way home today and this is another snap shot of big boy Cooper, taken on the canon. 11th January I took these ones last night, On the D80 with the 50 mm lense I liked this one it is Tully she is looking ponderously at a toy on the floor and this one is my baby Bronson. Ahhh finally got through the last 11 days, I know there is only supposed to be one a day but it is so hard, my lot so far have been a bit like a diary of my holiday, I have to go work today so will make an effort to take something interesting!!
  9. 4th January No Chance to get any pics today, so once I was in bed and thought about how much I missed my daily DOL fix I grabbed the Canon and snapped this one, its my girl Tully 5th January. Today I did have the opportunity to get a few good pics with a very willing subject, my nephew Josh, so many good ones of him I couldnt choose. All taken with the Nikon and the 50mm lense This one I fiddled with in PS my sister wanted Josh in B & W and the flowers in color, not sure I like it but its ok, I left the hat in color too but it is a little bit blown out in some areas. 6th January A couple of snaps today taken with the canon, we took the dogs swimming at Paynesville then tok them for a bath From left to right Cooper Tully Bronson and Lacy 7th January Its my puppys 1st Birthday on the 8th so we had a little party for him while mum and I were babysitting my nephew for the afternoon, just thougth this one was hilarious taken on the canon This one was taken with the Nikon D80 50mm 8th January My mums cows are calving so this one is one of the new baby a little bull, taken on the D80 with kit lense.
  10. Hi Guys, this thread is moving so quick it is great always fantastic new shots to look at!! Here is the beginning of mine. January 1st I was packing to go away and it was late and I thought of DOL so this one just a snap of my big boy sleeping. Cooper taken with Canon ixus 970 January 2nd Wasnt sure Id get a chance this day to get any pics as it took me a day to get where I was going, so I snapped this out the window I did manage to get a some nice pics of my mums garden later that day, Taken with Nikon D80 50mm lense F3.5 shutter speed 1/50 January 3rd I couldnt choose from today, so here is 3 the all 3 taken on my point and shoot canon, the first one is my nephew with the new blanket i made him for xmas, the second one is my sister with my girl Lacy and the 3rd one is my nephew on his scooter at the skate park. Not sure if I have to but will start a new post for the next ones.
  11. Hi Guys, I am back from my holiday and expected to find a few pages and was so suprised to see 42 pages for me to wade through today, all the pics are awesome, you lot are all very talented, even the ones thats been said are ordinary I have found fantastic, I would like to join in but most of mine are just snap shots on the days I was busy and some that are worthy (I think) so I will post them all tomorow, not sure if I should put them all in one post as there will be 11?? This is such a great thread, I especially love (as always) looking at everyones doggys and all the other photos are very creative, Its amazing when you start to see the same peoples work time and time again, you can most of the time recognise the photographer before you see who posted, I tested this theory today when I was going through all the pages and for probly half the photos I could pick the photographer before I checked to see who it was. The two styles that are easy to pick is Roccos (great work by the way) and Kristens (always lovely, light and bright) your underwater ones are awesome!! Gee I would hate to be judging a competition based on these pictures, they are all just so great, enough from me now Im off to bed and will post tomorow my past 11 days worth of pics, I have been inspired today after going throught this thread and for the rest of the month I am gonna give it a good go!!
  12. Hi Guys, great shots, Im so looking forward to seeing more, I just have a question Im going away tomorow and wont be back for a week so is it ok when I get back to post my pic a day all in the one post? Just wanted to make sure it was ok?? Thanks
  13. Hey congrats on the new gear, cant wait for the pics!
  14. Love this shot, so cute!! I am loving this thread and check it daily for new pics, I havent had a chance to play with my 50mm much since I got it, I guess its the time of the year, Ill be glad once we are into the new year and all is quiet again!! Everyones pics have been fantasic!!
  15. Hey Luke, Glad to see you back!!
  16. I dont even know what spot, metering or matrix is..... I have my auto focus area set on single area, I have 3 options single area, dynamic area and auto. For my close ups I use the single area and for scenery or far away shots I use dynamic area. Your right say if you are using f 1.8 and you are shooting the dogs face you either have to focus on the eyes or the nose cause if you are close you cant get the whole face clear and in focus. It does take a bit of practice, I am itching to get another chance to use mine, been busy with work the last few days. Loving this thread but I am very critical of my pics, I just look at everyone elses and think they are so so so much better!! I guess I just have to keep practising!!
  17. Hi Shell, I love your signiture it is awesome!! Do you have a 50mm for your 450??
  18. What the!!! Luke come back, I need you here you are an inspiration, and Barkley too, I dont know what the hell happened, I went to read the post involved but couldnt make head nor tail of it and assumed Luke changed his user name and deleted all his posts?? Hey Luke if your reading this PM me and let me know if you are on any other forums, I will definatly miss your advice and your beautiful boys photos!! And for Vickie, if I was on here when you left for 6 months I would have defiantley noticed!!!!
  19. Interesting topic, considering not only 20 mins ago, I was talking to my mum about getting my nephew a underwater digital camera (how bizzare :D ), just a cheapie for his back yard pool to have a muck around with, he had a one use one and he loved it, so I thought a digiatl one at least he could use it over and over, not the same tpye of thing you guys are talking about but they had some cheapies on ebay, under $200 might be worth a look for me anyhow!!
  20. Congrats on the new camera, cant wait to see the pics!!
  21. Hi Guys, Tokkie, I especially love the last 2 of Ringo, but they are all great. I have been having another play today so here are a few more, The Kitty ones probly need a bit of PS work, but just thought id stick em here for you guys to see what you think!! I think they are not to bad for a begginer on a 50mm. I am loving this lense, cant wait till tomorrow so I can take more pics, my camera will be worn out at this rate!!
  22. Hi Guys, I am absolutly loving this thread, all the pics are so fabulous, it is amazing how versatile this little lense really is. My favorite one so far would have to be post No 8 Chloes dad what a brilliant shot, I just got my 50mm today so I am going to post a few from my first lot of pics today, I think it will take a while to get the hang of it, but am very pleased so far!! Hope that wasnt too many pics, dont want to bore you all silly!! I cant wait to have a better play with it, and looking forward to seeing more pics form everyone else. Ps, as I reviewed the post I noticed in pic numbers 4 & 6 I can actually see myself in Bronson and Lacys eyes taking the photo!!
  23. Hey Guys, I got my 50mm, loving it so far, but will take a bit of getting used to, im off to post some pics in the new thread in the photo section on 50mm
  24. Fantastic shots, my lense still hasnt turned up yet, I am beginning to think they guy at our local hardly Normal gave me the wrong price for the 50mm, he said $307 and I told him I could get it for $199 and he said go for it then there was no way he coudl match that price he said they buy them for $238 think he might have been talking rubbish by the sounds of it. anyway the 50mm is certainly very popular and producing some great images!! ps. question, is DOF depth of field??
