Mmmm the weather, it is questionable for tommorow. If it is raining heavy I wont go but if it is only light and intermittent I will still go. Who else is still up for it?? I will only have Lacy and the bully boy!!

Oh bugger, It does depend on what the trouble is to begin with. If it is mites then it is a different treatment than if it is an infection. So once you get to the bottom of the problem it is easy to keep on top of although some dogs can be prone to ear infections no matter what you do. With Coop he had a lot of problems as a pup with perforated ear drums, dramatic I know and I had no idea there was no sign till one day he started shaking his head and I thought it was strange as it was so out of character for him, so off to the vets and they had to sedate him to look in his ears and sure enough both eardrums perforated, so it was a long road to recovery for him with tablets and after a while a topical medication, but we eventually got on top of it and havent looked back. What I do with my lot is once a week, I use oticlean it is a spray you can get it from the vets or I get mine from vetproductsdirect.com it is so much cheaper than the vets. Just a couple of quick sprays and clean out with a cotton ball. Mine tolerate it quite well. Cooper is not keen on it but will let me do it, he has a phobia about his ears now and hates the vet because of the troubles with his ears when he was younger. So once you find out what the problem is then you just need to do the weekly maintenance for want of a better word, it makes them sound like a car....LOL I cant help with mites as mine have never had them so Im not sure what to look for. Are Sebs ears smelly like a yeasty type of smell if they are then it is probley an infection. When is your appointment? Is he scrathing a lot or shaking his head?

Hi GUys, the weather is not looking good for our walk tomorow!!

Hi Guys, I'm a bit slow of the mark this month. I think I'm all camerad out after my holiday, I took so many photos. I wasn't going to post as I haven't had any experience with panning but would like to try. But looking back at my holiday pics I think there are a few maybe worth posting as frozen motion. Everyone's pictures are just so so so good. I love the long exposure shots and particularly the frozen motion shots. I'm not sure what it is about panning shots but they are just not my thing. here are a couple from my holiday. "Going" "Coming" "Take off" Just wanted to add, AM your horse shots are just divine!! And TN, I love the series of your pups up in the air with the ball, they look like a couple of AFL stars Kirislin, your panning shots of the doggys running are excellent, me thinks you been practicing, your very good!! Rocco, your parrot is just fantastic, I love the black back ground. Obviously you are loving the D700. I sooooo want one!! Shell, your long exposure shots are great and that possum is just awesome, did you do much PP, it looks almost like a cartoon, well done!! but your poor lense, can you claim it on your insurance? B & C, your shots are great, I just love your superhero frozen motion shot, so funny!! Roxy n Axle, it took me a second to figure out you were Love Asd, I seen your sig, your avatar looked familiar but I couldnt work it out for a second Your shots are great, I really love the one of your OH and the water in the first shot it looks like the water is curly!! RavyK love the invisible bike shot, very funny and well done!! Your watermark is awesome, did you do that in PS? Huga, great shots, love theone of Harry jumping up to get the ball!! a little trick with long exposure and light painting, use a lighter if you are sitting or if you are moving around a little pen light or one of those little key light finders is good and you can stop and start it so you get the effect of say if you are writing a name it can be broken up instead of one big light line. Dont know if Im explaining myself very well, will have to have a go and show what I mean. Anyway everyones shots are fantasitc, looking forward to getting the camera out and getting some recent shots, may have a go at panning too!! Edited to add, Hi Iltby, looking forward to seeing some pics from you too, sorry to hear you haven't been well, hope your feeling better soon!!

He is feeling a bit sorry for himself, the poor fella, he has taken himself to my bed and has been sleeping most of the afternoon, still groggy form the sedation. And by the size of the two cathaters used Id say he is very sore. I was suprised the vet let me stay and be with him which I was so greatful for, he doesnt like the vet at all which is a pity, but once he was sedated the vet could do his work. Im hoping it is nothing serious. I have to go to work tomorrow and now hubby is stressing that something is going to happen while Im at work. I just said to him if anythign changes he is to ring me and Ill cmoe strait home. Unfortunatley I cant get out of going to work tomorow but if Sean hadnt of been at home I would have called in sick....LOL the things we do for our furkids!!

Hi JJ, Even though the rail trainl in Koroit is a great walk. I much prefer Thunder point, there is a lot more for the dogs to explore and also they can have a dip if they want to. The koroit walk is very long and strait and not much for the dogs to do apart form get in the paddocks which I didnt want them to do and had to be onto them the whole time. But in saying that they still had fun as they got to run with thier buddys, Ella and Scruff. We only did that walk cause my girlfriend lives in Koroit. If we are gonna go out that way for a get together id much rather go to killarney beach! Might have to wait till the weather is better though, although mine would swim in the rain they wouldnt care!!
-
Tenties, thats great about the new place!! Where is it? In the same area? And yes I agree Moving is a bitch!! Not sure about Sunday Ill definatley be heading up to thunder point like i said in the earlier post just not sure what time this week as I have to do a one on one after training so it really depends what time I finish. At least the weather was better today and not so rainey. I did the rail trail walk in Koroit with a girlfriend and her two dogs (well part of it anyway) we walked about 6 kms, it is a great walk. the dogs had a bit of a bark at the cows but they had an absolute ball a new area to explore and lots of new smells!! So they have all had a bath now and I think they will sleep well tonight as will I...LOL
-
Tez, Ive never heard of the brierly basin, don't think it is the same place?? Where we do training is the old brierly hospital site. If you get to kmatr then take a right at the lights go all the way to the end of that street it is a T intersection. go left (you can only go left) and down to the next intersection it is a cross road then go strait over and passed all the houses on the right you will come to a gateway turn in there. If you go past the race course you have gone to far. I think the gate way to brierly has a name on the front gate part. So basically you go to kmart take a right then starit till the end take a left strait to the cross roads go over then a couple of hundred meters turn right up a small road you will see the cars on the left. Shannon, I can imagine how black Migs would have been, I guess Maws would have been black too but you just couldn't see it....LOL I cant do the tracking although I really wanted to do it with Tully and Cooper but I have to go to Baccuss Marsh that day well I don't have to but I want to we are going to have lunch with Brons breeder and the lady who has 2 of his brothers so I am looking frward to it. But annoyed at the same time as I would have loved to do tracking too. Cooper already has his track one. And I think Tully would be great at it as well. I will definatly go next time. Hope to catch up on Thursday.

Believe me I am Pizza obsessed and didnt know that the Warrni did pizza but will definatly try them out soon. I agree JJ, Im not a fan of the mass produced and not really a fan of la porchetta either. If you eat in there they seem to be better!! What do you guys think of Fiesta, I wasnt impressed but I have heard people rave, not sure why??
-
Thats fine, Just thought id put it out there so if anyone is interested in heading down at some stage Im usually there on a sunday arvo weather permitting!!
-
Well JJ, look forward to seeing the pics!! I meant to ask you today about the pizzas you mentioned last night, I think I posted further up the page, how much are they roughly compared to say Bo Jays? Which part of the pub do you go into to collect. Tez, there is definatly training next Sunday even though it is the long weekend. Tanya, Patricia commented today that you hadnt turned up so I told her Bruno had CC and you thought it best you didnt come this week. But I did say hopefully we would see you next week. You seem to have made a great impression on Bert (Floyd) I seen him at the park today and he asked after you again!! RJ, I hope you will post when you get back and let us know how your concert was, I bet it was fab. Maws you missed a good walk today, sorry for being such an urger but I really wanted you to come. Hope we can have a catch up on Thursday.

I didnt dare even think about coming to see the puppys JJ, you see I have a little puppy clucky problem....LOL Id maybe have to sneak one out with me and bring it home so Ill admire the photos....any tim eyou wanna post some more feel free. I usually go to Thunder point on a Sunday arvo (cooler months, not in the hot weather) maybe we could make it a regualr thing!! I love Sundays as the whole day is a dog day!!

oh no your poor Blinds, how the heck did he break in?? Tanya, I was talking to Bert in the park today (nice old guy with yellow Lab) he asked me if I have seen the lovley young girl with the english mastiff, I knew strait away he was talking about you!! Tez, Have you decided not to do any training with Brierly now? May be I missed something!! Glad to hear both the sickies are feeling better. Tanya, If Bruno hasnt coughed for a couple of days maybe you could ring Patricia and tell her hes all better so you can come on Sunday??
-
Janet, you will be happy with the Canon, Id be happy to give you some pointers but Im sure you will be fine. The course I did was reasonably basic and it did have some basic photoshop as well. It was with Mike kibblewhite through tafe, i think he is running another one this year may have gone by already. If you want the co-ors name and number pm me and ill send it through. Tanya, how is Bruno doing?? Hope hes feeling better. Tez, hows jane getting on, I guess it hit her harder with not being vacced against it. Hope she is ok!!

Hi Shannon, No worries about the walk, My lot have not been fussed at all about walks this week, we got a quick one in with Pandii on Wednesday arvo before it rained and I have just been going for short ones on the other days, think my lot are still tired from their big trip. Sounds like your new job is keeping you busy. Good Luck to G with this Job hes applying for!! Im busy today working on something I started 3 years ago but never got around to finishing. Will explain Sunday, See you then. Hey RJ, how did you go with your birthday present, keen to kow what you ended up with?? Did you have a party??
-
Hope You have a great Day Janet!!

No they didnt want me to wear the choker for agility but thought he could use a choker for general obedience, and thier really wasnt any reason as his general obedience was good but he got so bored with it, thats why I took him to agility in the first place. Sit heel stay come drop, was all just routine to Cooper and he needed something more challenging!! Although it didnt help that they wanted me have him off lead which I had to do and he took off into the advanced class and said hello to all the other dogs and just wouldnt come back when I recalled him. In hindsight now he was probly a bit young (just on 12 months) but he has always been a very sociable boy. I think the fact that we have off lead socialization at Brierly, as soon as I took the leash off him he thought it was play time. It was very funny but no one was impressed at all and no one would help me catch him they all just stood there and watched on as he went from dog to dog to say hello all the time Im sure wondering why the other dogs wouldnt play with him. Anyway he has grown up now (3 yrs old) has great recall but still is too friendly for his own good!! Do you live close to Warrnambool or did you shift away? You probly know Mawson (Shannon) she has changed clubs and only comes to Brierly now and she used to do agility with Mawson as well. Magicmine, My guys also love doing all I do, I usually take them everywhere that is humanly possible with me. The weight pulling sounds interesting!!
-
Thanks Jess, You have to go a long way for training, that must be a real drag but I would do it to if I had none nearby. I did do one block of Agility with WDTS but there was a slight conflict of interest, with me training at the other school and the fact that one of the trainers told me I would have to use a chocker chain on my boy, among other things which I was not impressed about. Also I am now an assistant trainer with Brierly, and as we dont have many trainers I dont think it would be fair on the others if I took 4 weeks off. I also know what you mean about time outside work with the dogs. I spent the majority of time outside my working hours with the dogs keeping them fit and healthy is my number one aim and like you my back yard is not big enough to excersise all of them so out we go. its been great latley Im finding a lot more people to go walking with so lots of socialization for the dogs as well which is fantasitc!!
