Has Your Dog Ever Choked On A Raw Bone?
tlc replied to puppymum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
All 4 of mine have had bones (all types, lamb, beef, chicken, Wings, necks etc) since they have been 8 weeks old and never has one of them chocked. I do not give them any bones if I am not home. If my oldest has a chicken frame about 6 hours later he vomits up the vetebrea (sp) all in perfectly formed little pieces Not sure why but obviously he cant tolerate them, anyone else had this happen? -
Sorry to hear your pups are not well. I was about to post the same thing as Ernie, with regards to the antibiotics. usually they only perscribe AB's if there is a secondary infection, if there isnt your giving them the AB's for no reason. Usually CC clears up on its own. A few months back 2 of mine had it I kept them quiet for a few days and I didnt seperate them from the other 2 and they didnt catch it. I cant believe the cost of the vets. If I take two of mine together they give me a discounted price on the consult so instead of charging me 2 consult fees they charge me around 1 and 1/2. They certainly get at you with the cost!!

Thanks Tanya, if anyone is interested I posted the same dirty dog pics from my face book here in the photo section. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=171061 How are you liking training, Trish said yesterday that Bruno is doing very well and it wont be long before he is ready to go up a step. Are you enjoying it?

I agree. I also think harnesses allow the dog to pull even more so. Flat collar lead and treats and lots of encouragment, youll be fine. And once you start obedience you will get lots of helpful advice to help you on your way!! Good luck!! Arent prong collars illegal in Australia?? Perhaps they are used in the US, I see dogs with them a lot on the dog whisperer.

Some pics from our walk today. RJ, it was a pleasure to meet your little fella today he is a lovely boy, such nice manners and a real sense of humour. I also noticed he was so good with the dogs Lacy really seemed to like him, and she dont really gravitate towards kids at all. Hope we can do it again soon. Think Lacy was checking to see if RJ was ok!! Think we have a budding photographer in the making!! And RJ, guess what I just had for supper......MMMMmmmmm chocolate, thanks so much. Sean says thanks too!!

-
R & A, love the light painting siggy, I like the bit of reflection glare down the bottom of the first letter, what did you use for a light? Think you better post your first doggy attempt, let us be the judge!!

Hi Guys, I just bought a new 8gb mem card it is a lexar, I got it from HN. heres the thing, as soon as I go to download what is on the card, the very first photo it says there is a problem and try again so i press try again and they all down load no worries, I have never had this happen with any other card before ever. Could it be faulty. Also I have been shooting in raw latley but for the challenges I have just gone back to jpegs and I noticed tonight when I have it on jpegs in the number area where it tells you how many pics you have left all it says is 1.0 with a little k above it. I thought it may have meant 1000 but when i take the pictures the number doesn't reduce at all, so if it was 1000 after I took say 5 pics it shoudl say 995??? Im at a loss and ive been through my books trouble shooting and cant find any explanation. Just thought some of you may have come across this before, any help greatly appreciated. The camera is a Nikon D80

well its certainly doing the trick, good work!!

DA, great job I also like the sleepy one!! Shell, I thought Id try to have a go with the cat tonight, I had everything in position and all ready to go and as soon as I turned the lgiht off he took off, so much for that idea. I like your shot tonight better than the one with the light trails in it. your shots are awesome!! Looking forward to seeing your Ash!! R & A, love the mask shot especially the first one, where only half the face is lit up. and the fairy on the flowers is great. DD love your star fish, is that what it is?? How did you get the blue effect?? I think someone used a teddy bear earlier on, which inspired my ideas for tonight about to go look at them now.
-
DA Please post, gee if I can post mine anyone can!! Pointee, great shots, both of them excellent!! Is everyone using manual focus?? Just curious because I did last night but usually I illuminate the subject get the camera to focus then turn the lights off then shoot. Another question for those doing the challenge with dslr what lenses are you guys using??

Mmmm....secret of trade... Glow sticks in and out of the bottle finishing with an 'out' and away from the bottle. (Had a red glow stick behind the bottle, giving the red light effect on the back of the bottle) Very clever!!
-
Oh R & A Love your shots especially the one where the light looks to be coming out of the bottle, How did you get that effect?? Shell, your shots are awesome too, Is the last one in Sepia or is it strait off the camera?? Well done, love the sexy lesbian vampires!! RJ, you are going great guns, The bundy bottle is my favorite, did you have the light behind the bottle??
