  1. RJ, I didnt realize in that ghostly pic that you can see both of us to either side of the opening?? How bizare!!
  2. Bindi, well done if that was your first attemp you are going great guns!! TN, love your Orchinds too, lovely. We had another photo shoot tonight in our local gardens, got a few good shots, but RJ and my shots will be so similar, it has been really interesting how sometimes we put the cameras (my Nikon, RJ's Canon) on exactly the same settings and the pictures come out totaly different!! We are learning heaps about how our cameras work and having a ball doing it!! Cant wait to hear what next months challenge is!!
  3. We are going again tonight, not the cemetary, but probly the gardens or somewhere to have a go at some more light trails. If you wanna come txt me and Ill let you know where we are. we are heading shortly as last night we didn't get finished till late and it is so bloody cold we thought we d go a bit earlier. all you need is your camera a tripod and a torch!!
  4. Here are a few of the ones we took last night. Thanks to Lea for the inspiration on the cemetary shots!! A few light trails On of our local restaurants. I think this one looks really eerie cause of the angle some of the headstones are on.
  5. Great!! Did you get any of the dwindling appostles? I have jsut been posting some new ones in the Challenge thread Me and RJ went to the cemetary last night and had a crack at the long exposures, they turned out ok I think. are you going to post any of your shots here? Id love to see them.
  6. Thanks R & A, TN love your butter fly shot!! I am loving this challenge and Rj and I have had some interesting to say the least photo shoots in the last couple of days including going out in the rain last night, Before we left my OH said to me "you look like a criminal" it is really cold here and I was rugged up with a hoodie on, well the cops must have thought so too as they stopped to see what we were up to!! RJ explained politley to them that we were practicing our photography skills, practicing is about it too, although we did get a few ok shots between us. Here is a few of mine from earlier in the day, No PP done to these ones, is everyone posting thier images strait off the camera or tweaking a bit before they post?? Will upload the night shoot ones shortly.
  7. All you have to do is put the camera on continuous, and you should have the option of slow med or fast, try each setting see how you go. It was amazing to see that most of the action ones you shot off that day were in focus, and I dont mean that in a bad way about you taking the pics I just mean you would think out of all the continuous shooting that a few would be blurry but they were all great!! Oh Poor Puppy, hope she settles in soon without her siblings, what you call her??
  8. There were some great action shots and flying ears of my guys on that CD, thanks again!!
  9. Thanks so much to the Pandii off spring for the lovely card. Pandii did you put the cd in the letter box at the same time?? I only just found it today!! Just about to look at it now. Thanks so much!!
  10. Tonight, Me and RJ (another DOLer) had a laughathon. we spent the evening pretending we were photographers Some of the shots were bizare, heres a few of mine and RJ will post some soon if she ever goes home!! Go home Janet!!
  11. Lea, your photos are always awesome!! You really nailed that flower it is beautiful!!
  12. I havent done any shots yet with the 50mm, maybe Ill give it a go tonight. Mayb elike you said if you fiddle with the eye thingy it may help with better viewing through the view finder! I have good eyes and I have trouble with the manual focus, I just never seem to know if it is spot on.
  13. I totally agree, everyones shots are awesome!! With regards to the manual focus thing, if you have trouble (although your pics look great to me) I have been illuminating the subject with whatever light source you are going to use and have the camera on auto focus, so you half press the button to focus then the subject is already focused on by the camera in the lit up state, if that makes sense, it works for me if I can get the manual focus as good as I want it. Lea love your shots to Awesome!!
  14. Thanks so much, Ill give it a go!!
  15. Excellent Freckles, I love what you did so the sky is still good and you can still see the subjects clearly too, its excellent. I only just come back to this post. Luke I didn't even understand half of what you asked me about light room! (Do you use all the cataloguing functionality in Lightroom or do you just use it's RAW processing and image editing functions? I've considering changing my workflow to Lightroom to add the cataloguing and keywording functionality but I don't don't enough photos nowadays.) I dont even know what cataloguing is? Gee I sound like I havent got a clue, I guess compared to a lot of you guys i dont!! I just import the pics I want to edit in light room and if they are raw images it just converts them and then I export them back into my pictures as jpegs, but I keep all the raw images as well as jpegs. I really need to do a course of some sort to learn how to use light room and PS properly but I have come a long way just from all the experts on DOL and thier fab advice. I havent really used PS since starting to use lightroom I just love the ease of light room it is so easy to edit the images, I find it much better than PS. All I need to learn is how to do a watermark in lightroom.
  16. Love em, TN, the first one my fav!!
  17. Love the puppy by the heater!! Here is my efforts for tonight!! I call this one odd one out!! and another one of Bronson, cause i couldnt decide which was the best of the two.
  18. Just wondering if anyone can help me with a quick explination of how to do a water mark in light room? Not even sure if it can be done? Thanks.
  19. Very clever, everyone is having some great ideas!!
  20. I have only come across this a few times in the time I have been at Brierly (3 years) one example is Miggy, as you have seen she has very high prey drive and Shannon does a fantastic job with training her. They do allow Halti's and Gentle leaders which would allow a bit more control over high prey drive. Dogs that get a bit geared up, just get thier attention diverted to something else. and you would be suprised food does work with some but not all. I guess it depends what your dog is used to. All the large breeds we have had train since they were puppys have done great with only positive methods. But like I have said before it is not for all dogs. You have to find what works for the individual. Glad you are enjoying it Tanya, it is amazing to see how much Bruno has come out of his shell just after a couple of weeks, Well done!!
  21. TN, love your little doggy Money box, very cure and I like how the money is only just lit up, I didnt notice it to begin with!! R, Great shots of teddy on a mission!
  22. No they don't allow corrections of any sort, all positive reinforcements. It is a great way to train but I don't always agree that it is the right method for every dog. It has worked fine for my lot, but i do occasionally use methods that would be frowned apon at training. I love some of the techniques used by Cesar and they have helped me with my lot. They were pretty good before Cesar but even better now and I haven't had to change a lot, just small subtle changes!! I do agree that different dogs can benefit from different training for sure!!
  23. Pandii, do you use a chocker on Sebbi??
