  1. Just thought Id post a few pics from this morning, we went to see if we could see any Whales but there was none to be seen!! This was the sky tonight over my place just before dark, Last but not least just a nice shot of Coop from tonight.
  2. Hi BB I just read this thread. I agree with Tess you will be much happier to have the kit lense as well as the 50 mm you will have a lot more photo ops with both, you would have been very limited with just the 50mm. Bet you cant wait to get it. Look forward to seeing your pics!! edited to add, what is the kit lense that comes with it?
  3. What did you guys get up to last night??
  4. Thanks JJ, How did Tarni cope with a run with the big kids. I remember back to when mine were pups and Lacy my second eldest she just wouldn't quit wouldn't let me carry her when I thought she had had enough, she just wanted to go go go. Then when Tully came along she would walk and run a bit them I had to carry her for a ways so I started taking a little doggy carry bag so that when she got tired up she would run to me, Id just pop the bag down and in she would pop then after about 10 minutes when she had recovered she would get out and off she would go again!! Of course now they are the opposite theres no stopping Tully but Lacy on the other hand would prefer slow pace :D The bolded bit of your post, thats what i said about everyone of mine as a puppy!! but yes she is very cute!!
  5. I dont know about in dogs but I think with cats it is that the whiskers are as wide as their widest part of thier body so they help with them not getting stuck in places such as drain pipes etc if the whiskers cant go through easily then their bodys wont fit!! Not sure if that is right but it is what I always believed to be true!!
  6. Ok I went out of the browser all together. Then opened a new page and went to the thread and when I scroll down the pics are already there?? I guess it depends how fast your internet is and how much else you are downloading at the time?? There is a lot of factors to consider!
  7. Well I will resize to the same as the last one form now on, but what I cant figure out is how come when I load the page they are there basically instantly like maybe 3 seconds to load. Ill go back and see exactly how long.
  8. Thanks so much, yea I love the way it looks like Tully is whispering in my ear!! But the big guy doesnt look impressed he has the sad eyes on!! Ok this one is 640 pixels and it is on normal, I didnt even know you could change it and the file size then is 71 kb which seems rather small. I guess it depends what the original file size is.
  9. The top one is smaller obviously but they load so quick on my PC. Is there something else I should be doing to compress them. Im so dippy when it comes to resizing, I just get picasa to do it and always thought I was doing it right?? Has anyone doing the challenges had any trouble with my pics loading slow??
  10. These two pics are both resized one to 480 pixels and one to 800 pixels Is there any difference in them loading??
  11. Hi Guys, Just had it pointed out to me by another fellow DOLer that my pics take a long time to load?? I usually resize them in picasa to 800 pixels and each pic is then saved at around 250 kb or under. Is this still too big? Just wondering as no one has ever mentioned this problem before and with the challenges it can be a pain if the pics take a long time to load!!
  12. In picassa it compresses them to 800 pixels, maybe I need to make them smaller, biut I think you lose quality when you make them smaller. Might head on over tot he photo tips and tricks and ask them cause it would be a pain inthe arse if they take a long time to upload especially since I participate in the challenges.
  13. RJ, do you compress or just resize? Will have to go to picassa and check it out!
  14. That doesnt mean any thing to me do you think the 2946 is kb?? Mmm dunno that seems huge?? Im not real size savy can you email me a compressed pic??
  15. Pandii do you remember how much weight the DS tripod can hold. I bought a cheapie $20 job from HN and it didnt hold my camera upright it was too heavy.
  16. Patricia is 55 607362 If you do speak to her and you decide to give Brierley a try, she will tell you that you have to have a one on one, and may recommend that I do it (she wont realize we know each other) but just tell her that you know me and I prefer not to do the one on ones with friends or people I know. If Patricia cant do it there is another trainer that does the one on ones as well. All depends on how you go after you speak with her and if you decide to give it a try or not. Did you see where I asked you how big are your pics your posting, just curious to compare them to mine. they are showing up the same size on the page?? Just seen you edit, cant you look at the saved pic to see how big they are, usually if you hold the mouse on the pic it will tell you how big they are?
  17. They sure did have a good time. I might take the good camera next week if im game!! but I usually get something tapping me on the shoulder saying Ummmm a $2000 camera and a lot of wet sandy dogs argggghhhhhh!!!! They just dont mix but in the imortal words of RJ, therei s always insurance should a mishap arise....!! :D
  18. Great shots!! Love the one of the pup over JJ's shoulder very cute!! All my pics are reduced in picassa to under 250kb. Never had any others say they take a long time to load???? How big are each of yours?
  19. Look forward to seeing your pics Pandii, hows the new camera going? Pity we couldnt have all gone together today it would have been a great bunch of dogs!!
  20. Thought this one needed a caption Thanks Guys. Cant wait to do it again soon, maybe next Sunday. Did you get any good shots Tania??
  21. Some pics from today. I thougth I had more of training but this was theonly one with all of our dogs in it. Me RJ and her friend and Tania headed to Thunder point in the arvo. We had a lovely walk and the dogs all had a ball and got on fabulously.
  22. Hi Tez, SEDA is Seeing Eye Dogs Australia. Like Guide dogs but a different company. The puppy carers take the pup from around 8 - 10 weeks of age for between 12 - 18 months till the pup can go to the training centre. In the time they have the pup they will attend training sessions, and be shown specific things the pup needs to be taught just the basics like sit wait stay food manners and general well behaved stuff, and would be expected to attend training days once a month. In the time they have the pup home visits from the co - ordinator are done on a regular basis to check the puppys progress. There is no expense to the puppy carer all the dogs needs are payed for by SEDA. I can well understand why you find training mentally taxing, with a high energy dog like Jane you are putting all your energy into getting the best out of her, but she is doing very well, I noticed about 1/4 of the way through the class today she just started to respond. You will find with time that she will go into work mode when training is on. But like I said to you today Cooper was exactly the same wanted to play with every other dog and couldn't care less about training and like Jane as well was not food motivated, which is frustrating. It was so different when I started training Lacy she was just so switched on and loves the food reward system (cant you tell) Anyway like i said it will all fall into place!! Looking forward to the walk as well. Did you say that you wont be at training next week? we are going to do some demo stuff with some more advanced dogs to show people what they can achieve if they keep going. I have a few pics of today Ill post them after.
