I got my pet news with a HUGE bill I looked at the news letter before I looked at the bill!! Good to Your breed featured, and interesting to see thier take on the whole DA issue!! I have found especailly in the last 3 years with working with the citys dog people and dogs in general, Warrnambool as a whole I dont think are any different than any other town in Australia, There is always going to be percentages of people that have PB dogs and the percentage of people that have X Breeds. I would say on a whole through our training school we have seen a lot more PB dogs, (some from Reg breeders some from Bybs) than X breeds, and a lot more X breeds than Purposely bred X breeds. I know this is only a small percentage of the community, but by talking to these people in general there is so many reasons behind why one buys the type of dog they buy. A lot of them are educated on PB dogs but still choose otherwise for different reasons. I will use myself as an example, I grew up with a pure bred Cocker Spaniel, bred from excellent lines and she was from a registered breeder, so while I am educated about pure bred dogs and am in no way against them at all. I have this time around choosen not to have a pure bred for reasons that I am not prepared to discuss here on a PB forum. I like it here and dont wanna get booted off so am just using myself as an example that not all people with x breeds are uneducated on PB dogs. This discussion, is really a double edged sword and could be never ending. Everyone has thier own views on the subject Im sure. Did anyone see the local paper today with the rise in council fees, we have been stung and they said dog clubs have been using facilities for years with out paying, what a joke, we dont even have a rubbish bin at our training ground and the oval we train on is so wet under foot it is almost impossible to work on. The dogs and handlers have a hard time training in a swamp Anyway It doesnt matter that we are a non profit club and are doing a community service, we still have to pay, not sure what will happen but to say the least there may have to be some rise in fees to cover the cost and we may also be able to fund raise to get new equipment for the club possibly for agility, fly ball etc and also hoping to have our own shed, if we can raise enough money. I know this doesnt concern some of you but just thought Id post it as a point of interest for the ones that frequent Brierly. Pandii, I asked Patricia about doing training with a martingale and she said if it makes any kind of correction on the dogs neck when the lead is pulled then it isnt allowed. JJ, any news on the job front?? Tanya, have you decided what to do for Brunos party?? Tez and Tenties havent seen you about for a while?? I know Maws has been quiet, she is away but Im hoping she will be back and able to come walking with us on Sunday.
-
Oh how exciting JJ, Obviously it is Amys first litter, hope her hip/elbow scores come back ok!! So if you keep a pup from the new litter you will have 4 girls, your trailer will definatly come in very handy. The show must be getting close now, Im sure Tarni will do very well, and are you showing Amy as well? Jerojath Killarney is cool, what will she get for short, Larney !! Your job sounds interesting, keep us posted!! and Good Luck!!

Hey Tanys ar eyou still on holidays, you lucky bugger, can anyone tell im sick of work latley!! Pandii, Did you and JJ end up going to Kilarney yesterday?

Well as you know mine will bark on meeting, but are not in your face kind of dogs, they like thier own space. They really are a little intimidated by bigger dogs especailly Lacy and Tully is always on the defensive as she has been attacked a few times by bigger dogs but she does steer clear. it has caused her to bark more I think to protect herself. Poor Tully always seems to be the one that cops it. Anyway With Miggy she absolutely hated my lot with a passion but we have worked hard to over come that and now they all run off lead together, so I guess thats a case of an aggressive dog being rehabilitated. I have to go to work today, boy I wish I didnt have to work so I could just do doggy stuff all day, I would be in my element!!
-
yes it is a pity about that, I dont think she would like Sniffle either being small and fluffy, not sure how she would go with Jane either she is a typical exhuberant playful puppy . You might have to organise a walk for just the bigger dogs. The dog in the black ute is Brunos friend they are so similar. Tanya we had another mastiff start at training yesterday, not sure if it is an english one like Bruno, his name is KaHa. Edited to add Im not walking today, my lot are all still tired from yesterdays big day!! They didnt even want to get out of bed!!

how funny, I guess a change is as good as a holiday as they say!! I would have thought a dog with pancreatitis would have been better off on a raw diet instead of the processed stuff?? Not that Id no Im only surmising, it just makes sense to me!

How was your walk guys, We had a busy morning at training, then off to koroit to visit my friend, and later in the arvo ended up at Kilarney, we went up the gormans rd part, it is good up there also a big flat river for the dogs to run in with no waves, Mine are all asleep after they have had a bath, they are exhausted after thier big day out. About next Sunday, Really concerning Tez, and our walk after trianing as I guess with the ones already in town it doesnt matter to much what time we go. I have to stay behind at training for a meeting which I will probly be able to get away from about 12ish to be able to go for a walk. So Tez what I was wondering is can you hang around that long. It seems like we have been foiled at every turn in getting you and Jane to Thunder point with us. I know she is going to love it. I think possibly Maws will be able to come next week as well as she msged me today and said she would be at training next week, so fingers crossed. Anyway we will play it by ear and see what happens.

Thanks guys, but I thought out of them all the second one was a bit lack lusta, a bit washed out or something, I should have had a bit of a play with it before i posted, they are all strait off the camera! Its funny cause when i was younger I was always told never to shoot into the sun, but on trying it, some shots come out so well. i had a lovely old man tel me one day (at the park, taking some pics) "Oh you cant take photos into the sun" I printed out a few of the pictures of his dog and give them to him and he said "oh i was so wrong, I always thought the pictures wouldn't have come out if the sun was in front of you". i guess it is all in the technique!! -

I went through a few of my older pics from summer time just curious to see how many of my shots were taken with back lighting and was suprised to find more than I thought, so I thought Id just post a few since I didn't start till later, I didnt think you guys would mind!! Ah I cant wait till summer after looking back at these pictures!! -
I have to head out to koroit just after lunch, and Im not sure what time Ill be back so will have to give TP a miss. I will have the dogs with me so will probly take them somewhere out there, except CJ who had a little off lead run today and is a little lame again tongiht so he will stay home with his Dada JJ,s been quiet, he may still be up for a walk tomorow!!
-
Hi Guys, I wont be doing thunder point tomorow, will aim for next week, we might have to do two walks next week as Im not sure Tez would be able to hang around till 1.30 with living out of town and already being in town for training?

Tez, you just remined me of a line in the movie marley and me, evil with a dog face, I laughed at that line for so long. Dont get me wrong I dont think Jane is evil she is just exhuberant!! It is so hard when they have energy to burn especially dogs like jane that have a lot to burn. I must say the last 2 weeks with CJ on complete rest I think has been harder on me tthan it has on him. He is happy to just lay around the house but when I took the others out he would just cry and cry. I always left one of the other behind but it didnt matter. He just wanted to come too. He just loves his outings and the last two days have been good to take him for a walk but he has taken a few minutes to figure out im not going to let him off the leash and then he has been fine, it was a good idea to get the long lead for him.I did think tonight he was going to end up hurting himself again as he decided after he had been clipped today and had a bath that he must have been feeling great as he did zoomies through the house for about 5 solid minutes, I had tto stop him in the end before he hurt himself.
