  1. Hi Ravyk, We would love to meet you guys and your pooches, definatley let us know dates times etc. How are your doggies off lead, we have a massive big park that would be ideal if we all have a meet up together, the dogs will have plenty of room to run. Looking forward to meeting you!! The weather should be a bit nicer then too, fingers crossed. :D JJ, there certainly is a lot to showing, you are very knowledgable, your mind must be like a sponge. it would be so disapointing to start to show and then have it that your dog is not show quality, and from what you said it does happen. I guess if you have been in showing a long time then you would know if your dogs going to cut it, starting out would be tough though. quick question for you, is there many registered breeders that dont show thier dogs? is part of the point of showing to get a championship so that when you sell the pups they are from championship lines? Is the asking price for puppies from a champion usually more expensive than a reg pup from a dog that has never been shown. The ring ins in the pictures are my friends from koroit. Trying to get her to come with us all one day, she is sticking to Kilarney these days.
  2. everyone wants a treat!! Came home then and got Tully and took her for a walk with RJ and Sniffy, the tracks down around garden street were so flooded you couldnt walk all the way through to Mortlake road without going up and around the big puddle of water on the path. By the way I never knew the path through there was off leash, but we left them on today cause mine would have been swimming otherwise!! Lil Sniffle and just one last one of my big lapdog after his bath before I dryed him :D
  3. :D JJ what a day!! I guess every point counts although Im not up to par on all the show talk, but I do know you need x amount of points to be a champion!! I reckon with the weather being crappy the dogs are not impressed I always notice at training that the dogs are not at thier best on cold windy or rainy days, but we still take them crazy dog people that we are. :D I took the boys walking today, the girlies went with the OH to visit his mum, here is a few pics from the day. Miggy has another buddy in Bruno now, another good day for Miggy with her buddies, Well done Migs!! I left one walk to go on another, The Sea was rough at Kilarney today, but we were lucky enough to have a good hour and a half with no rain. I really liked the simpleness of this pic with the shadow, nothing special about it but I liked it. stopping for a rest
  4. Tez, you must have been posting here while I was posting after your photos!! Tanya can you pm me your regular email address, I have some photos of a dog that is possibly needing to be rehomed and just thought you may be interested. I Would prefer to send you the pics and details through regular email, saves me having to upload the pics to PB.
  5. Sounds like the weekend show was a bit of a washout, what a pity. JJ how did you go?? Did the girls do you proud again today?? When will you know if Amy is having pups?? We had a walk today in between showers actually I had 3, will add pics a bit later!! Tez, Are you home from Melbourne yet? What was the weather like down there? Did you take Jane with you?
  6. Hi Tanya, will do re:tomorow, will see what the weather is doing, but Ill definatley txt you at some point. I was only just thinking today I hadnt seen you on for a couple of days.
  7. Howdy, i don't mind the questions. Yep i'm into Cavaliers, I'm a new registered kennel, registered in 2007. I've owned cavs for many years prior. I've got 2 girls, a blenheim and a black and tan. 10 months and 3years, Lele is our newest addition we only got her a few weeks ago and we are seeing how she settles in so far so good. Don't work anymore, got two little kids 3yr old and a 10 month old. I did initially work at Westvic Employment in the New Apprentice Centre but only for 12 months, we moved here 4yrs ago from Horsham. Weather is wild and wet. And with that said I'm debating going tomorrow to the event in Hamilton as it's going to be a mud pool. See what the morning brings, hopefully sunshine. And that poor puppy on the front page on the Standard, my godness it broke my heart to think someone would scoop so low. Well sounds like you have a very busy life with kids and doggys, How old is Lele? I had to read your post twice, Your kids are the same age as your doggies so Lele is doggy number 3? Your right about the weather it is terrible today. And those poor dogs on the standard I just dont understand some people, how absolutley cruel!!
  8. Hi Hope you drop in from time to time to say hi, You obviously have Cavs, how many how old etc. DO you work around W'bool? Oh so many questions, geez Im a sticky beak!! Hope all the show goers have a good time and the weather is a bit better than today!! Did everyone see the front of the Standard today, god there are so jerks in this world!!

Are you still heading to the show this weekend, Good luck, Im sure the Goldies will do great!! Just a reminder to the ones here that train at Brierly, there is no training on Sunday!!
  13. JJ, just to add on what I was saying this morning, Delta are happy to have our dogs assesed in rediness to go to a facility but I have been thinking about it and I think finding a facility around here is going to be tough, mainly because of it being a country area, a lot of the nursing homes etc already allow dogs to come and visit thier patients and they dont have to pay a think, With Delta like I said they have to pay as this covers them if anything happens like in the event of say maybe a dog biting a patient etc. I am not keen to drive to Geelong either it is just a little too far for me and hard to be consistant and fit in regular visits with work and life in general. So it is a catch 22 situation as they want to have the amount of dogs here in town to be able to make regular visits as if the facility pays then has no visiting dogs then they are paying for nothing, You see my point. So I guess the bottom line if we put the feelers out around town and maybe Maws and I can do a drop off at a few places with the info they need to see if they would be interested and take it from there. The assesment doesnt take long for the doggy side of things but usually about a week after the assesment they like you to come and do a day session where they teach you the ins and outs of Delta and how the whole program works. In this case the dogs assesment is on the 12th Sept and the handlers assesment is on the 20th Sept, you cant go to one if you cant go to the other. The next assesment will be next year around March there is no set date as the just do it when they have enough interest. Thats about it, If you want the info pm me your email addy and Ill send it on, it is whats involved and what is in the dogs assesment, what they need to be able to do and not to do to pass.
  14. Hi JJ, the thing is the Geelong branch wants us to find our own facility and then we have to have enough dogs to frequent the facility. the biggest thing is the facility have to pay, It is around $400 for the year. So you can have the dog assesed in readiness for the facility here which is what I going to do with my girls, and hopefully we can find some place that is interested in becoming partenrs with the Delta program. I have to go to work but will let you know more tonight as I spoke to Vanda yesterday she is the head of the Geelong branch.
  15. Just wondering if anyone is considering the Delta program??
  16. Vickie That was awesome to watch, Well done to Chloe and Trim, they make a great team edited to watch the back yard vid, it is fab too!!
  17. I use liver too, mine will jump through hoops for liver, even my oldest who is not food oriented!! I boil it for traiing as it is nice and soft and I roast it for general treats for out and about. If I dont have liver I use cheese, roast meat (left overs) chunkers, any deli meats ham straz etc. I dont use any hard treats for training as I think they can be treated quicker with the soft stuff and not have to chew it to much. I get my livers form one of our local butchers for a 1/4 of the price of the supermarket, they are 50cents each!!
  18. Well done, It is possibly a bit small but im not sure if it can be resized back up once it is resized down?? If you want it bigger let me know and Ill just redo!! I just love looking at everyones siggys!! Glad you finally got it to work!!
