Another Wahl fan here, I started with the show pro when I got my first boy, but once I decided I was going to be clipping all of my lot myself, I thought I would upgrade to the km ss, they are fantastic, I have a 10 blade and a set of SS guide combs which I do use as a 10 blade clip would be way to short for my lot, I still like to leave them with at least a 1/2 inch clip which the combs are great for. One thing I will say about the combs is they do leave thier coats a little choppy, but with my lot thier fur is wavy to curly so you don't notice it much and once they have been clipped for a week you don't notice it at all!! I am thinking about getting a longer blade for a smoother clip, but for the time being all good. My lot are clipped about every 8 weeks, and occasionally I have done all 4 in one day and the clippers have never missed a beat. I have not heard of feather edge, must go for a look and check out the blade prices. Good luck, you wont go wrong with Wahl!!

I know with my lot, and yes I know they are cross breeds, but I occasionally have play dates with siblings of my four and also a group of girls who have the same and the dogs always play differently with them than they do with any other dog. Also we went to a dog trial here in town a month or so back and I took Cooper (we were just observing) and we met a few dogs, Aussie shepards and little Malt x Westie, among others and Cooper was unreactive to them all, just went about doing his own thing till a big puppy (looked to me like a STD Poodle) walked past and he started to go a bit hyper on the lead like "oh mum please let me say hello" Cooper is very sociable, it was just like oh hey that dog is one of me I didnt think anything of it till the lady who we talked to later on said the pup was a Poodle X Lab. Im sure he would have reacted the same way about a poodle but it was just like he knew it was one of his kind :D

Hi Tenties, I am too wondering what has prompted some responses, as about 8 pages ago, I posted this.............> I never intended to waste anyones time, I am quite aware that show training is a lot different than obedience. I would have been quite happy to bring one of my guys and do the show training as well, Correct me if Im wrong but isnt there usually lots of dogs in and around the show ring. I know I don't show or have no interest in showing, but it is all handling to me and all good for the dogs as far as Im concerned, I just thought it would be nice for a social thing to spending time with like minded doggy people, that is what I like to do. Also bring my camera to snap some shots of the doggies and I would have been quite happy to give over the prints if they were good enough free of charge. Im really sorry that we just cant all get along and enjoy each other company, we all love our dogs and that is a common bond we all share. Its a pity it has come to this. I wont be coming as it has been made plainly obvious that I am not wanted there. Its not my style to jump down anybodys throat and make people feel like absolute crap and I can't get my trolls to come and do it for me as I dont know any

Nah I'd just prefer that a bunch of us puts together the "SW Vic Dog Sports Club" that has everything both ANKC disciplines & NON-ANKC also.Imagine if we could choose from Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Endurance, Retrieving trials, Herding, Flyball, Lure Coursing, Dog Sledding, Canine Disc, Dock Diving, Rally-O, Doggy Dancing, Weight Pulling, Schutzhund, or all of the above? -WithEverythingIAm Me and my dogs would be in our seventh heaven!! Wishful thinking. our club are going to fund raise to buy fly ball equipment this year, so hopefully we will have get a team together sometime in the future.

Is It A Puppy Thing Or Is She Going To Remain Like This?
tlc replied to Bubitty's topic in General Dog Discussion
The baby of my lot is 2 and he is a happy boy 24/7, my OH is always saying when is he gonna grow up this is how his face looks 24/7 I even think he smiles in his sleep!! -
That is really good thinking, one of my girls used to be petrified of anything with wheels, ( she had a fright as a pup) not good when going to nursing homes!! All good now after a bit of desensitizing. What is HTH?

No thanks you talk to much!! In regards to the hat thing, Cooper used to go balistic everytime he come across a person with a hat on, even me, I never used to wear hats but I do now. anyway we did some intensive work with him, like different people with hats etc and even strangers in the park as they were his biggest problem and he seems to have come out of it now. he also had a fear of Men but seems to be a lot better of late (touch wood) he doesnt carry on with strange men like he used to, I woudnt get complacent about it and am very aware of this problem with him but he seems to have mellowed a bit as he has gotten a bit older, my BIL even commented the other day that Cooper has turned into a sook I was annoyed at that!!

Well JJ, I hope by doing the show training you might get a bit of your showing zest back especially with a lot of interest by some of the locals, nice to have a day out with friends, you should get a driver or take one of the other locals with you and they could drive!! Hey how would your dog/dogs go if you had another persons dog in the trailer with them? Would they crack the sads? RJ, you sound like you had a great time, can I ask who went out for tea? I would have loved to have gone but we had my MIL 70th Birthday. I guess showing is like a lot of other competitve stuff in regards to the judging, you do hear a lot of dodgy stuff goes on. Just in regards to the show training are you guys only going to stick with show training or will there be a bit of general obedience thrown in there occasonally? I am keen to pick up another day/evening of training (prefer evenings) due to work. So if anyone is interested in doing a bit of obedience, just general routine stuff, sit, drop, stand, stay r & L about turns seek backs and a bit of retrieving and the likes Id love to have someone to train with. Oh Id just like to add Lacy did a perfect stand for examination today, no food, with me 2 feet away, I was wrapped, she never missed a beat with her routine work today not bad considering we have done no training since early december, (apart from out and about everyday stuff) slack I know.

Well that all makes perfect sense to me, and you know your dogs!! I have never had an incling to show ever, even though I have always been a doggy person and have had Reg PB dogs, I much prefer to do other stuff too like obedience, tracking agility etc, wish we had more facilitys close by to enable us to do more of this sort of stuff. If you dont show what does it mean in terms of breeding? Are the pups not worth as much? or is it that their is more interest if the pups have winning parents, sorry if I sound ignorant, I am and you dont have to answer that if it is too much of a personal question. Im sure there are people out there that show pups just for the love of it?? along with the breeders. or in the grand scheme of things are most show dog people breeders? This whole show thing is totally new to me I know nothing!

Hi JJ, Bugger about Tarni, what was the prob with her, I guess she be just at that age where they test the boundries, how old is she now? Yes the weather was a bit of a pain today, we had our first day back at obedience, but not a lot was done as it was too sticky and hot this am. Then I had to work this arvo so was glad it didn't stay as hot as it was in the morning. Can't believe the kids are back at school and tomorow it will be Feb, this month has just flown by!! Hows the new bubs going all settled into her new life I hope.

My panasonic fz50 has a leica lense, and before that i had the fz20 same lense. Is that what you are talking about. They do take the most excellent photos, but the ones I have got are not and slr so the lense is fixed. Before I got my Nikon I contemplated a Panasonic SLR, but decided I had wanted a nikon for so long I just had to go with Nikon. When I did my photo course the teacher said the Leica lenses are one of the best you can get. My older uncles Photographers from way back and still using film cameras have cameras with leica lenses and they say they are the bees knees!!
