http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=192855&hl= I loved that post when Jed first wrote it, it still brings a smile to my face. That Chi Chi is one tough cookie! The "Do breeders make a profit" post that Mumsy has quoted is the perfect example to me of what Jed stands for and why she is so highly respected. Thank you so much for the update goldchow. It's so good to hear how the dogs are going. You and Marg are doing a fantastic job. -

Harminee, that is absolutely beautiful. (Just a spelling error - Magnus, not Mangus). Really gorgeous though. Huge thanks to Kyla, Marg, Lesley and all those doing so much to help Jed and her much loved animals. -

Thoughts and prayers continuing for Jed, Magnus and all of Jed's four legged companions. Harminee, your ideas were lovely - the rainbow bridge portraits are a beautiful idea and photos of Jane's remaining animals to look at and keep close whilst she's recovering is something that I imagine she would treasure as well. My thoughts exactly. -

Magnus aka TBCSITW (The Best Cocker Spaniel In The World) is Jed's beloved cocker who ran off when the remaining dogs were being transported away from the property. ok thanks for that. Is there a pic somewhere of TBCSITW? I have friends up that way not far from Jeds, I can forward it to them to keep an eye out for him. There's a pic on page 18 (post # 270) and another on page 20 (post # 290). -

My heart is breaking for you Jed. God bless all your beautiful dogs, I'm so sorry that you couldn't save them all. The fact that you tried so hard is testament to your enormous love for them. Please get well soon, we all need you here - you're like our very own "DOl Wikepedia". What you don't know, isn't worth knowing. Keeping you and your four legged friends in my prayers. xxx -
Oh dear, I can sympathise with the rain. My girl doesn't like to step on wet grass in the garden, doesn't mind it out in the street though, lol. I've spent many a cold wet night outside waiting for her to toilet before bed. When Charlie was a little pup, I can remember standing outside in the pouring rain with an umbrella for so long. He didn't mind the rain at all, he just didn't fancy doing a wee for quite a while. :D It does get easier. ;)

Awww Charli's a sweetie!!! I prefer the idea of crating in the bedroom next to your bed too. I've never left water in the crates overnight for the same reason that Clyde mentioned. When mine used to get up in the night for a wee, he passed his water bowl but never stopped for a drink. He'll let you know with a whine/cry when he needs to toilet. Just remember to make sure the crate is sectioned off so it's not big enough to toilet down one end and sleep up the other. :D

Congratulations! Badger is gorgeous (as is his name ). So glad Ivy likes her new little bro.
-
Congratulations CW, your new little girl is stunning. Love the name too. I hope she and Charlie have loads of fun together.
-
Bless your Charlie, he's such a champion.

Jules, 's to you and Renae. I'm so sorry this happened but really happy that she's safely home now. I can imagine how upset you've been, worrying about your beautiful girl. Tlc, what a tragic story.

Very Sad News From The Midniara Household Rip Buddy
LuvMyCav replied to ~Shepherd~'s topic in Rainbow Bridge
What a very handsome man Buddy was. I'm so very sorry Midniara and family. Such a devastating loss. :D Run free lovely boy. -
MissLotus, what size crate are you using? If it's a 24in, I find they don't take up too much room - I have two in my bedroom but if there's no chance for her to stay in your room (and I wouldn't worry about the intimacy bit, they soon get used to it, lol) then I would suggest moving her crate very gradually away, rather than doing it in one hit.

VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES TO YOU Tdierikx, HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A LOVELY DAY.
-
Poor dog. The RSPCA should act on it if the animal has no shelter and no drinkable water. Have you had a response from them yet.
-
Just to set the record straight, animals that are part of the animal bequest program through the RSPCA are fostered out to homes that can accommodate them in the ways that they're used to ie getting to sleep on the bed etc., for the rest of their lives. They also are entitled to help from RSPCA vets and behaviourists.

I overheard a conversation a few years ago ago in a pet shop where a woman brought back a puppy that she'd bought that morning. She'd got home and realised what a crazy idea it was and how mad her hubby was going to be. The woman in the pet shop said no way would they take the puppy back, once it's left the store, that's it, it could have picked up a disease. Seems like a big shift in the way of thinking!

Tuna / Salmon / Sardines: Oil Or Springwater
LuvMyCav replied to Skruffy n Flea's topic in General Dog Discussion
I buy the no name 125g packets of sardines in oil. I share the tin between the two of them (with a little bit going into the freezer for another day) with their kibble. It is their all time favourite meal and Leah nearly had a heart attack with all the excitement when I was putting it out in their bowls last night. -
I'm so pleased all is well, I was following the story in the puppy thread and kept popping in for news. Hope she continues to thrive.
