How Does Your Dog Singal He Needs To Go Out For A Wee?
Jamaica replied to Snowball's topic in Puppy Chat
All our dogs if during the day will go to the back door if they need to toilet, and during the night they know that there is no toilet break, we will not be controlled and woken to toilet them, if a dog gets into a routine of being toileted during the night then they will keep waking you up, -
Thankyou, ill have a look,

My OH's dog Bear(rotty x GSD) has a fair sized hot spot just below his hip. It has only just appeared but the soonest we can get him to the vet is on Wednesday. Would it be suitable to rinse it with malaseb? We already have some of that at home. We also have some Ilium Fungafite antifungal cream left over from one of the cats, could that be used on him? We were thinking we could rinse the spot with a dilute malaseb solution and then put the cream on. Would that work for a hot spot till we can get him to the vet or if it started to clear up with that would we even need to take him to the vet? Any help would be much appreciated.

sry, i dont know why you would think to use one on a dog that was not problematic(forgive my ignorance if there are uses for them otherwise) but there are seven dogs here and only one i think needs one, (my first post on the subject stated lazy people used them but what was ment was i being lazy if i was going to use one, should i do the hard yards with the possability with no result!) keeping in mind that the dog im talking about is big strong fast and could bite, but on the other hand gentle and sensitive. thinking id prefer not to get bit and use an ecollar
-
When using a shock collar, what age would you start to use one if your dog is problematic, knowing different dogs age at different rates.
-
sorry, there was no political agenda i was just asking,
-
well you can get harnesses and check chains from k-mart would you personally want to be able to get shock collars from there as well or do you agree that there has to be some responsable control and training over them?
-
I liked your story, you know what your doing.
-
the kmart question i asked because i belive that people need to be trained in how to use them properly and you being a professional in the use of them, should people be able to buy them off the shelf or have to be trained in a class before obtaining one?
-
People cant even use check chains properly let alone e collars, seeing that there expensive then sure its out of price range of some people but some people will abuse it, thats why training is required and poeple need to adhear to your knowledge on e collars with the do's and donts. Would you like to see them for sale at every kmart or big w ect, mass produced to be made cheap so everyone can get em or would you rather owners going to one of your classes to be taught properly on how to use them and in what way.
