Even if you want to buy online, go into a store and see how the camera feels in your hands. I know when I first looked at SLRs (my first was a canon 450D, though they're up to the 600D now), I didn't like the way the equivalent nikon camera felt in my hands so I chose a canon. As far as quality goes, canon and nikon are much of a muchness, though like kja said, nikon has certain lenses that won't autofocus with certain cameras. I'm sure someone from team nikon will be able to help you and show you which lenses can be used with which cameras though so you shouldn't have too much of a problem.... but all the cool kids use canons.... just sayin'

It's ridiculous to think you can characterise all dogs of one breed - even more ridiculous when the dogs aren't actually one breed but a breed type. It's like saying that all police men will go on a violent rampage and kill a lot of people because one police man did it once. Or like saying that because one pilot made a mistake and caused a plane to crash that all pilots will cause planes to crash. It doesn't happen. If you just want to look at dogs - there was a story about a siberian husky who killed a baby in it's cot in WA - siberian huskies rate quite highly on the declared dangerous dogs list. My siberian husky is a delta accredited therapy dog. Which one of those is the true representation of the breed? There are in fact 2 delta accredited therapy dogs who are siberian huskys in NSW. How many attacks by siberians do you need to counteract the good that both Zero and Blue have done? Should Zero and Blue pay for the mistakes the owners of the siberian husky in WA made in not socialising or even introducing their dog to their new baby? Should he pay for the fact that the dog managed to get into the house supposedly without the owners knowing and hurt a child? My dog has been around children for close to 5 years and is always supervised around them - he has never made an aggressive move towards them, in fact, quite the opposite - he is gentle, tolerant and calm. Should he be made to never be around a child again? The problem with BSL is where does it end? You wipe out the APBT and it's crosses, what is the next breed to be targetted? There is nothing to stop the witch hunt from continuing with another breed when some idiot doesn't manage their dog correctly and another child is injured. Zuri's answer is okay but the problem is that APBTs can't be out without a muzzle on. They look scary with it on and it's naturally off-putting, even though the breed isn't truely like that! The breed is in a place where it's not on an even playing field when it comes to fighting back. There has been years of bad press for the breed, how are a couple of breed stands going to help?

Maybe take her out to see a chiro just to double check that she's all good TLC? Zero did himself an injury but looked like he was recovered but he kept pulling up sore after exercise in a different area (injury was to his bac leg, but he limped on his front eg) - turned out it was referred pain which the chiro treated and fixed.

Wow - you really didn't! I put a price on one today and I can get it for about $1300 with postage! Good sell Ange.

I have a few as well though they're not fantastic. The ones where I get really nice flares tend to not be the best photos lol Taken for a "summer" photo in january for project 365 - special photo bombing appearance by Zero And one of Terranik and Ahsoka
-
Awww - he's too cute!

Gorgeous! What a beautiful shot, even if you don't look at the lens flare. Do you mind if i ask what lens you were using and if you had a filter on? We use certain lenses and filters in production to get similar effects. For example, an anamorphic lens will give you star-trek like lens flares in your shots when the sun hits them right (the ones that run along the bottom of the screen like the ones in the most recent star trek movie, though a lot of them were done in post production).

No!! Don't teach him to hold it in! He's too cute with it out and he just wouldn't be Barkly without it.

It was on the photo 5 website, with each of the briefs named according to their brief instead of the item under the terms and conditions of entry. I need to put my thinking cap on!

IT'S HERE!!!! Brief 1: Through a pets eyes Brief 2: MACRO (foam) Brief 3: LOW LIGHT (sequins) Brief 4: FAST SHUTTER (powder) Brief 5: PANNING (ribbon) So for macro, we have detergent of some kind (it's sealed), the fast shutter powder looks like the red dye we got for the paint brief last year (mine is blue though), panning has 2 pieces of ribbon (about 45cms each) and then the sequins are multi coloured and different sized. YAY!!

Ideas On How To Set Up My Camera Bag Insides!
~*Shell*~ replied to lovemesideways's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
It's definitely an individual thing - a friend on another forum has a very similar kit to me and the way she has her bag (which is the same as mine) set up is very different to mine. She also uses the front pocket of her bag to store her speedlite whereas mine is stored within the main pocket of the bag. -
Happy birthday Micha!! Love Z and I :D

It's so cheap again :D I soooo want one but my deal is that I only buy camera equipment with money I've earned with my photography - I'm not too far away from the 7D now but I'm not sure i'll get that first. I might go for a 24-70mm lens instead. It's so hard when you want everything now and they're all expensive but the 5D doesn't handle dogs running towards the camera well so I'm missing out on an angle for flyball and agility stuff so it might be the goer :D

Hahaha - great pics Kirislin! Z loves kids - he makes a great babysitter, even though I babysit (supervise) him while he babysits the kids :D My nieces and nephews adore him. My niece started taking her first steps by pulling herself up on him. He's so gentle with them too!

I was just thinking this the other day! Someone sent me the link with a "have you head of her? i love her photos".
-
Everyone's shots so far have been great. I haven't given much of a thought to mine yet. I have some ideas but none of them are really executable.
-
I loved that one too Helen!! I saw it and had to laugh because people have the same reactions to Zero!
-
Hahaha - i was just looking for this today! Great that you found it!

Agression Towards Other Dogs
~*Shell*~ replied to Meeche's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
If the RSPCA can't help, get in contact with a different behaviourist. Aggression isn't something to be mucked around with. If the RSPCA has passed this boy for adoption they should be able to help. -
If you're really having problems with the program aussielover - email k9pro. You'll always get a myriad of answers on DOL so if you want the most accurate information, go straight to the source :D

Lol - i work in TV and make ads. I get to do some cool things but it's not exactly glamorous!

Zero is actually "Zero Amadeus Apollo" which he gets when he's been or about to be naughty. Eg "Zero Amadeus Apollo, don't you even think about it!!!" He also gets Z (pronounced "Zee"), Z-puppy, Z-monster and woof. He answers to all of them without a problem. Definitely not confusing. You're always bound to make up nicknames for them anyway.

Yep - sounds like production music to me. I can have a search around but nothing is jumping out at me as far as distributors go. Usually I'm not too bad at picking it. I'll have a look next week when I'm back at work and searching for music for a couple of promos I'm working on.
-
Have you got a link to it? I haven't heard it. Most music on TV is what's called production music (as opposed to commercial music) which isn't available to the public. If you can send me a link, I can search the database and might be able to find it.
