Congratulations! What a gorgeous puppy!

It's beautiful Kirislin! I love that the bokeh effect is subte at the top and really definied on the right. Your horse is gorgeous too!

I'm a bit worried about entering it - the smaller the photo gets, the smaller the stars get and they get harder and harder to see so the effect is ruined.

Here's my first ever attempt at bokeh - I was trying to make something ugly look pretty. I'm not sure how successful I was.

I'm not a massive fan of the merry christmas font - maybe something a little bit more curly to match the names? Something like this? http://www.dafont.com/holiday-home.font You could upload the image to redbubble and get some cards made. I'm planning on doing that with Zero this year but I haven't got around the shooting the photo yet!

That's hilarious Teebs!!! Here's Zero: I awakened the sleeping Zero and got this face dog forbid i should wake him when he's napping in the sun!

I thought I was the only one who shared a birthday with their dog! Zero and I share the 10th July (I'm 1986 and he's 2004 though ).

10 Things About Zero! (The photo was taken duringthe dust storm, hence the colour!) 1) Zero's nose comes under the gate every afternoon when I get home - when I walk through the gate he takes off up the side of the house, runs back, wooos at me, runs back up the side of the house, gets his favourite toy of the day and comes and gives it to me so I'll play with him. 2) Zero loves stuffed animals - he doesn't like a lot of toys, but fluffy toys do it for him! 3) Zero doesn't see very well due to blunt force trauma to the face and the resulting cloudiness in his eyes - in the dark, he can't see where i've thrown his dumbbell for his formal retrieve but he'll go out and look for it anyway. He also doesn't hear very well because of chronic untreated ear infections before I got him... he can however tell the difference between my car and everyone elses and can hear the sound of the fridge opening from the back bedroom at the other side of the house. I often wonder if he's pretending to be blind and deaf... 4) Zero cuddles by leaning up against your leg so you can rub his face - he only does it to me and I could cry sometimes when he runs to give me cuddles. He also tries to climb up onto the couch for cuddles... again, I'm the only person he wants to do this with! 5) Zero didn't have the best start to life but a lot of the time, you wouldn't know it. He's overcome a lot of fears but still freaks out about the lawnmower whether it's running or not. I have no idea why - he won't even walk past it if it's silent. 6) Zero loves to get dressed up and loves having his photo taken! It's a little sad that he's a sibe and doesn't get cold - I'm sure he'd love to wear a coat in winter. 7) At about 30kgs, Zero can get up onto a bed or a couch without waking me up. I call him my nighttime ninja because even my 6kg cat can't get up on the bed without waking me. 8) Zero LOVES to track down and eat bees - he can sniff one out at the other end of the backyard and will dig them out of the grass to eat them. Either he doesn't feel them sting him or he's worked out how to get the stinger out of them before he does it but he will work for a good 15 minutes to free the bee from under the grass to eat it. They probably taste like honey to him... Zero also loves honey. 9) Zero has two best friends - Jedi the keeshond and Rowdy the golden retriever x cocker spaniel (rescue). Both boys can do anything to Zero and he just loves it. Mostly they just like to lick his face. He also loves Ahsoka - but he likes to play hard to get with her so she's more like a girl he likes rather than his best friend... she had him wrapped around her paw from the second he met her! 10) Zero is "broken" - everyone tells me sibes are aloof, don't like cuddles, are independent, don't form bonds with people, are untrainable and have heaps of energy... they were wrong. I'm so sick of the weather we're having in sydney - i just wanted a nice sunny day to go and shoot my bokeh photo and it just won't happen. Next weeked better be sunny or I'm going to be in a bad mood...

I haven't actually had a go yet Mick - I'll try tonight and see what I can come up with. I've got heaps of photo editing to do tonight so a couple of extra ones aren't going to hurt

Poor Ivan really doesn't like having his photo taken!! :p No photos here - I did get some ones of Zero out in the dust storm but they're all orange so you can't see how dirty he is. He does look somewhat like Ivan at the moment though. He's filthy! I only bathed him 3 weeks ago and it took forever since he's in full coat at the moment - I'm sending him up to the groomers this weekend because I can't be bothered to go through the 4 hour epic that bathing him last time was again!

I was told we have until october 1st - *sigh* I feel so much better suddenly! That'll teach me to not read the book properly! Bring on the bokeh experiment!! Hmmm - maybe I'll have to use one of my friend's *gasp* nikon DSLRs to get the shot I want of the hundreds and thousands.

After a loooooong think about it I have an idea for the hundreds and thousands and the glasses too but I don't know how either of them will turn out - I'll have to see tonight. I need a macro lens for the hundreds and thousands but I don't have one and don't know anyone who i could rope in to lend me one (my friends who have them all have nikons!) so I'll have to make do. I had an awesome idea for the bokeh image too but I need to go into the city to get the shot and I now don't have time. Other than that, I had no ideas so I guess I'm not entering the bokeh competition. That photo is to die for Bec! I looooooooooove Charch!

I'm struggling with a bokeh theme - the already submitted ones just don't do it for me at the moment. Quite a few of them are christmassy and I want to do something different!

I have one photo that's for practically black - and an idea for the hundreds and thousands and the paint but shooting either of them in the next couple of days is going to be hell!

I gave Zero a couple of doses of manuka honey last week when he had KC - he only had it for 6 days and it's completely gone. Last time he had it, he was ill for 2 months!

I'm sooooooo jealous!! That's my next lens but it probably won't be mine for a while! Those photos are just gorgeous!

That's interesting - if you're only marking sporadically, how does it differ from a normal marker? How did you condition your dogs to it Jules?
