  1. See this is why i got the 5D They're probably compare it to the bratz-equivalent of the barbie camera soon!
  2. The G10 is pretty kickass - another friend has the G11 and says it's awesome too. A little more than $300 though!
  3. Oh and my confetti shot is nothing to write home about - i had an idea for it and the idea I had didn't come to life the way I wanted it to. Oh well! The idea is there!
  4. When I looked, point and shoot cameras that shot raw were all over $300. That was a few years ago now though.
  5. Yep - some of them I think, frick - all that work and I'm about to get my ass kicked! Oh well, I don't really expect to get anywhere in photo5. It was just for fun as always!
  6. I was always happy with my canon IXUS80IS - I'm about to buy a new one (probably the IXUS210IS touch since my old one has practically died due to an entire 600ml bottle of diet coke being spilt in my bag - in it's defence it still hasn't given up the ghost but has become a little unpredictable). These were taken on it and edited in light room (pretty much just to bring up the blacks). Zoom was at it's maximum and they're heavily cropped: Pretty much your best bet is to buy an SLR - you won't get the things you want in a cheap point and shoot. They're always going to be noisy (the photoshop plug in "Noise Ninja" is your friend) and not have the best image quality but hey, you get what you pay for. Give me my 5D over my IXUS if i'm going for quality but for a night out, the IXUS wins hands down.
  7. I bought my 5D from them - just be aware that you will probably have to pay import duty on the camera. Mine cost me $240 to import because I had to pay the applicable GST on it. It was still cheaper and I was happy with their responses to my questions. Camera got here in about 10 days from order date.
  8. 2 briefs entered - 3 to go. At least I have taken all of my shots!
  9. I have only just recently upgraded from a 450D - it's been coming for a while though. Great little camera to learn on!
  10. He's too cool to cuddle me now that he has won best neuter in show. Big issue in my eyes.
  11. I like the first one carebear! It's wrong but the second one reminds me of a condom :D I really like your eyedropper shot!! Okay - here's my uploaded eye dropper shot (i wanted to do something different ): And my bubblegum shot: I'm still playing with the final editing on the last 3 but here's an outtake from my confetti shoot (and yes, that's terranik's Ahsoka):
  12. Awww shucks I don't think Zero will ever be 100% successfully rehabbed. But he's at a very workable level and I can only see us going up from here as he learns new things and is exposed to new situations, people and dogs. For example, there is a running joke in my family about making a fence from old broken down lawn mowers. He won't go anywhere near them, even if they're not running. I could space them 10 metres apart and he won't go between them. He's getting better but it's probably going to be a lifelong fear for him, or at least something that he's very wary of. It's all about management with him and making sure he doesn't have bad experiences. I can immediately tell if he's not going to like another dog (i don't expect him to like every dog) and which dogs he will be absolutely fine with so I will allow him to see the dogs he won't like from a distance (or put him in his crate, where he is absolutely fine with any dog approaching) and try and work with him so he'll be able to get to a level where he will accept them. I can guarantee you that my next dog won't be 100% either - and the things I like to teach my dog won't be what other people would. I plan on training the puppy in drive so she/he won't have any food manners at all. In fact, he/she will be actively taught to try and get food from my hands. It's perfect for what I would want him/her to do but not so ideallic for someone who is all about the puppy zen. :D
  13. Those are awesome CM - LOOOOOOOVE the second one!! 3 briefs down, 2 to go! I had a lucky break today. Yet again, one of my ideas went to hell and couldn't be done so I just wasn't going to enter but then something awesome happened and I got some great shots that I'm happy with. Just need to shoot the up close and incense shots and I'm doneskies!
  14. ok - two briefs down and edited, 3 to go. One I'm shooting tonight and then I have 2 to shoot tomorrow. EEEEEEPPP! I plan on uploading them each day it's due. just so I have time to second guess myself
  15. Thanks guys! I'll give it a go tomorrow!
  16. Over winter Zero's crate has taken a bit of a beating, having gotten wet several times and not been opened up and aired out to dry. Needless to say, it's starting to smell a little musty and it looks a worse for wear. Does anyone wash their soft crates? If so, how do you do it? Zero's crate is huge (122cms) and I don't think it'll fit in my washing machine. There is the option of taking it to the laundromat to run it through one of their industrial washing machines but having never done that, I'm not too sure how it'll go. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. What a gorgeous video. I'm going to save it in my favourites for the next person who tries to tell me how aggressive pit bulls are!
  18. I'm shooting bubblegum today hopefully! I also have a new idea for the eye dropper one. Now I just need to rope someone into letting me do it!
  19. I did it in the Canon program and I dont know how to fix it. It's like the previous pic is overlaid on top of the next, I need to be able to swap it so the third pic is on top of the 2nd, if that makes sense, but the program wont let me. thanks KTB Ah, I've never used it. It seems to line everything up well though - it's a bit of a shame you can't mask out what you want laid over the top. If you want to send me the photos (the original and the canon-program version), I can photoshop the feet back into those two shots if you like.
  20. Plenty of people have carebear. There are shots up there from the new years eve fireworks. If it's not a huge event like that, pull the metadata off the photo (so they can't tell when it was taken) and enter it anyway.
  21. Great sequence! Can you use photoshop or something similar to put Tag's feet back into the shot?
  22. Thanks! He's my best model and best of all, he works for next to nothing He's not always so photogenic though :
  23. Yep!! Though I won't be shooting that brief probably until sunday! I need a friend to help and she's busy!
