  2. Yesterday was a very sad day, we had to make the decision to put to sleep our beautiful Himalayan cat, Julie. She was 13 years and 9 months of age. She came to live with us at 10 weeks of age, and my son (who was 8 at the time) decided to called her Julie. More often than not she got “Hooley Dooley”. She was very talkative, always demanding attention. My son would carry her around his neck, like a fur stole. Julie had a nasty accident at six months old. We came home after being out for around an hour to find her paralysed in the back legs. It appears she was hit by a car. She had a fractured pelvis and spinal damage and we were back and forward to the vets for several weeks having her bladder emptied. She eventually regained some movement in her legs but her beautiful, fluffy tail always dragged behind her due to the damage to her spine. Julie stopped eating over the last couple of days and had bladder incontinence. The vet said her kidneys were failing, and it may be kinder to let her go. Rest in peace sweet girl, you will be greatly missed.

  10. When we brought our baby Cocker home at Christmas, OH and I went to Bunnings, bought some 1.5 metre high wire and tomato stakes and built a fence right around the perimeter of our garden bed in the back yard. We also put individual tree guards around a couple of new shrubs. So far she hasn't chewed anything in the garden. Oh, apart from my potted petunias and miniature roses on the back deck . Inside however is a different story. She's chewed through four computer cables and two others attached to the stereo system........plus a few other things. Good luck! Ellie
