  1. We had eight baby Cockers arrive five days early on Tuesday (10th Aug.) Unfortunately we lost three - one that was stillborn, and another two littlies the following night. The others are doing well now, there is one little girl who only weighed 90 grams on arrival but is battling on. She has put on 20 grams in the last two days. We have four orange roan girls and one blue roan girl. It's just heartbreaking to lose them but need to focus now on the others and do the best we can for them.
  2. Cocker babies confirmed for 15 August. (Well I already knew because she's so chubby). Vet says everything looks good.
  3. Cocker Spaniels - confirmed
  4. Congratulations - it's a very nice sounding prefix.
  5. I need to know whether my girl is in whelp so I can start planning. She was mated 3.5 weeks ago.
  6. I'm so sorry, he must be a very strong boy to do this to the door Hugs.
  7. I agree, from my experience, people who own DD's seem to be the snobbiest. Just the other day I was talking to a lady as I was buying some toys for our puppy. She asked me what I had and I said a golden retriever puppy. She then went "Oh, well I have a beagalier!" The way she said it was like "you only have a crappy GR, my dog is so much fancier" I just turned and walked away before I said anything that I would regret... If someone uses the DD name of their dog in a conversation I just say "Oh yeah, what's that?"
  8. That's a great start, well done to both of you
  9. Baby puppies are very hard work, but don't worry, it does get better. Some excellent advice has been given, and definitely give the crate training a go, it has saved my sanity many times. It won't be long and your Cocker will have you wrapped around his little paws. You will fall in love with him, guaranteed and be warned, you won't be able to stop at one! Cockers are addictive. Can I ask who you bought you puppy from? PM if you wish. Good luck!
  10. Just sent my entry in yesterday. Have just entered Sunday.
  11. Your puppy is gorgous, what is his name?
  12. They're beautiful healthy puppies. You've done a great job with them.
  13. "Why is it rude to ask the question? Do breeders have something to hide? Why then should I not buy my next pup from a puppy farmer?" Furballs, if you do a google search on puppy farmers and have a look at how these establishments keep their breeding bitches and puppies, perhaps that may help you to decide where to buy your next dog.
  14. I'm close friends with the breeder of my two girls, she is a lovely, supportive person. She lived in the same town as me until last year but now lives a couple of hours away and I miss her. I miss calling in after work for a wine and lots of doggy chat. However, we still catch up regularly at shows and I've visited her at her new place a number of times.
  15. May I have one please? I'm a hopeless cook but it's such a great cause.
  16. I'm so sorry to hear this. RIP beautiful Phoebe.
  17. My girls are washed in the laundry tub with one of those rubber attachment hose thingies. I then towel dry them while they stand on the washing machine which is covered with a towel, before they are blow dried.
  18. Whatever she is, she's just beautiful!
  19. Well done! I watched him win yesterday, he's a very regal boy.
  20. Wow, check out that movement!
  21. Fantastic stories Jed, thank you, I love reading them! I think you should write a book.
  22. I have an OKS one. It's about 13 years old and still in terrific order. I also invested in a heavy duty trolley cover from Great Rugs and this has certainly helped to keep it in good condition.
  23. That's a fabulous story, Chi is a beautiful little girl and appears to live life to the full despite her disability. I think she saw you coming Jed!
