I think one of my dogs may have ear mites. I will of course have her ears swabbed first but I was wondering how most people treat for them these days. I was thinking Revolution. What would you suggest treating them with?

My dogs all have 1/3 each almost every day, they eat every bit bones and all.

How Many People Use Conditioners On Their Dog?
Fordogs replied to giraffez's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use Aloveen, it works well and yes it is a leave on conditioner. -
Did the breeders of your puppies know that you were getting 2 puppies of the same age? Did they give you any advice or try to discourage you from getting two? If you really want this to work I would buy another crate and bring them inside so that they can be around you and family and when they are outside play with them make them tired and they will then settle down and sleep. Also make sure that you give them individual attention. It didn't take you too long to realize that you may have made a mistake. If you really think you can't cope, make the descission to return 1 now before it is too late. This is the exact reason why I will never sell anyone 2 puppies at the same time. I always tell them if you want a second come back when your 1st puppy is older.

I have also used Friars Balsam with good results -- small bottle is very cheap only $3 or $4. It is used by hikers to toughen their feet before a long hike.

Owners need to listen to their vets when they pick their dogs up after spaying. KEEP her Quiet, Put her on the lead when going out to toilet, Don't let her run around, atleast until her sutures are removed. I know that it is not always easy and and the dog usually feels fine the next day but ovihysterectomy is still major surgey and she does need to rest.

Try your local charity stores, they always have lots of soft fluffy toys for your puppy to snuggle in also a nice thick blanket to lay on as well and yes leave the radio or TV on for company. You also need to give him lots of play time outside then when you put him in the pen he will be ready for a sleep. Good luck, don't feel guilty I have heard many people wonder a few days after they have the puppy home if they have done the right thing. Puppies are fun but they are also a bit of work at first.

I would love to do this also. Why don't you put it in the Husky or Malamute thread as I would be very interested in the replies?

I am afraid that I don't like the Halti either, I have tried them and my dogs hate them (they do the exact same thing paw and fight all the way until I remove it). I actually had this conversation this morning with one of my puppy buyers that would like to do obedience. I told them not to waste their money and to continue in the old conventional way using a check or martingale and they will attain a far better result if you would like to have a dog that heels well.

Every morning my boy misses his mark and pees on his front foot !! After that first one his aim improves significantly.

Sound like tetanus to me. I hope your little guy pulls through.

And rabbit poo, wombat poo, cow poo, kangaroo poo. My dogs will eat them all if they have half a chance

Hi gmc, What breed is your puppy?
-
I have a 10 week old that is crated at night and she often pants at night. I don't leave her with water in her crate she would only spill it (she loves to play in water) but if she is panting I give her a couple of ice cubes and an esky cooler to lay beside if she's hot. Thank goodness she now sleeps right through the night and I get up at 6 am to take her out. I wouldn try not to let your puppy drink too much when you get up to him as the more he drinks the more you will have to get up for toilet duty.

BANJO, don't worry about the other half getting cranky, we all live with that. The less they know about what our puppies cost us the better.

Cavalier, Most umbilical hernias are caused by the mother during whelping and pulling or tugging too much on the cord.

Quick question, after the turf was laid was it fertilized ? Because puppies and dogs love Blood & Bone.

For the life of me I cannot understand why any vet should charge $100 or more just to fix a small hernia when desexing a puppy, they already have out the kit, sutures and the patient is already prepaired and it takes no longer than a few minutes, charges should be $20 or $30 at the most. Many vets even say to leave them alone if it's only small. Yes I am a vet nurse, I know how long it takes.

The Old Squirt bottle - NO, my dogs LOVE water, I toss them a 4x2 that is the only thing that will keep mine quiet until they get out

I also have poo eaters, their own, wombat, rabbit, duck or kangaroo, yes they eat lots of raw, vegies, chicken necks, backs, wings and lamb flaps. As soon as I see them poo I go to pick it up but they often grab a bit before I can get to it. So what do you do?
