  1. Congratulations to those whose girls have already whelped. Sorry for your little one Partipaws. RIP little girl.
  2. Have you ever have one of those puppies that just slide out, no movement, no struggle to be free of the sack when they arrive? So heart breaking because you know that there is nothing you can do to revive them, the really sad thing is that they always look perfectly formed and normal size and should be healthy. Yes I have tried but never got one of those back.
  3. I think that I have finally worked it out. Here is a photo taken 3 days ago of Blaze, at this time she still had 13 days to go (now 11 ), she has milk already and her boobs are doing the flip flops when she walks. Poor girl. Yeah did it twice Liz I used a program called Shrinkpictures.com
  4. I also start my bitches on Folate 1 month before they are due to come on heat, I give 1 tablet per day and continue until they whelp.
  5. I have tried this before BUT I am not great with the computer so PLEASE could someone tell me how to post a photo???
  6. Dopram is what your vet uses for under the tongue for puppy stimulation I use a couple of drops of Brandy I think that it almost as good.
  7. Sooo many little mahogany puppies - Congratulations they are sooo beautiful. You are going to be SOOO BUSY ;)
  8. Ask your vet to show you how to tube feed your little one. You are getting to the point of no return, 1 week on and the puppy is less than 1/2 of birth weight and that is not good. What formula are you giving?
  9. Yes, they could just give the dog a sedative or better still a whiff of gas and pull the nail off, all over & done with very quickly, still sore for a day or 2 but heals faster.
  10. Did your vet leave it hanging? Normally they would RIP it off. YES it is very painful and unless it has been removed Duke will feel pain every time he moves that foot. It should be ripped off, I know that it will be painful, but atleast it will be over and done with and in a day or 2 all will be forgotten.
  11. Congratulations to all of the November litters. Bokezu, you still have time to make the November List. Good Luck.
  12. There is NO excuse for poor service. Find another vet even if you have travel further, especially if you have already had issues with them. Yes I would have taken her back to have another sample done, (a) so that is fresh & (b) so that you have an up to date result. With my vet I take the bitch and then I take the sample to the pick up point myself, just in case like you it gets forgotten. (which I don't think would happen). Also I always ring my vet before 6pm if they haven't rung me. If your bitch has already been bred though, all you need to see is that her prog is still rising. Good luck. Hope the puppy fairy visit your place.
  13. I have a 6 year old female, she drives me potty, she bounces of walls when kenneled (which is only at night) and barks constantly. She was debarked 2 years ago (not that it made a huge difference). She is also dog aggressive and that is the real reason that I haven't re homed her but she loves people and is so good with children, in all reality she is simply a happy dog and likes to let everyone know it. I have run on one of her daughters who at 6 months was becoming just like mum so I re homed her and the new owners say she is the perfect pet and is doing really well in OB. * Go Figure *
  14. I think German Shepherd *Ch Denargun Browned Off* took out Best in Show 5 maybe 6 years ago. I will have to check out my old records. He was stunning on the day.
  15. Saturday has always been the specialty and Sunday has always been the Spring Fair so what is happening ARE we a part of the Spring Fair or NOT????
  16. Not showing today but I heard that the working group specials were done around 1pm / so GSD's were no way finished, I was there and watched the open dog class and they were still doing opposites when I left and that was about 4.30pm. I have no idea as to why but previously (except for last year) they used to wait and include GSDs in the Working Group. ???????????
  17. Beautiful babies Lindsay, Love the merles.
  18. Does he actually vomit as in working up from the stomach or does he simply regurgitate as if it comes from the throat? A healthy young dog should NOT throw up that often.
  19. missymoe, Sorry for your disappointment, I feel your pain. I too will never post again without confirmation, the disappointment we feel when we have to tell all that we will not have puppies this time is terrible. All I can say is better luck next time.
  20. Have you tried the Tick Collars? I always found them to be very good.
  21. German Shepherd puppies for us around December 16th confirmed by ultrasound today Wooo Hooo. I didn't want to post too early after my last disappointment.
  22. 4 weeks of inappetance is a long time. I would certainly be looking at getting her scoped first. Yes that would be with anesthetic. Is she a young dog Has she lost weight? Any vomiting?
  23. Phantom or pregnant that is the question. I have been fooled before, thought she was pregnant for sure did an xray but she had lots of gas so I thought puppy must have been behind gas as she continued nesting, panting swollen vulva, loss of cervical plug, the whole works so Took her back for ultrasound and sure enough ------ no puppies
  24. I own a 6 year old large breed bitch, she has had 2 previous litters her 1st she only had 2 puppies and the 2nd only 3 (breed average 6-7) so I am thinking of trying Receptal or Fertagyl injections on her as this will be her last litter so I would like to try to maximize her chances of producing 1 or 2 more puppies. Has anyone used it and if so what was your results? Did the bitch have any side effects? I would NOT put my bitch at risk.
  25. For me I would suggest that you wait until your puppy is 12 - 15 months old and then have xrays and send them off to Dr Wyburn for assessment. Many puppies of even 6 - 12 months old can have laxity and clicking as they develop as long as they are not showing any lameness I would not stress too much until you have then assessed by a specialist. JMHO I would not do Penn Hip as very few vets are capable of assessing them.
