Woodys, that is a great price, I now have a price from Dogtainers for $220.00 but is still expensive compared to what I paid Canberra to Adelaide with Jetpet / though this time Jetpet are much more expensive at $300. Rajacadoo, I think that you are correct they pull a number out of a hat, there is NO reason or consistency for their pricing. When I last used Jetpet I had a quote for $230. to Adelaide and when I rung to pay they said $218. That was ok with me, even when I told them the accepted price was $230. ( I know silly me)

I will be sending a puppy out of Canberra to Melbourne next week and I was wondering who to use. I sent an email to Dogtainers this morning, also to Pet Transport and neither have answered as yet, also phoned Jetpets, as I used them last year to send a puppy from Canberra to Adelaide they charged $218 for that trip but for this trip to Melbourne they want $300. Has there been a huge cost increase? So what do you pay??? And Who do you use?

Has your vet spoken to you regarding Cartrophen injections, they are given once a week for 4 weeks. Most times the results are quite dramatic. I would highly recommend them.

I am going through the same thing with 1 of my girls who is not a maiden, she had a litter of 9 puppies 2.5 years ago and have not been able to get her pregnant for her last 3 seasons. No the stud is fine he has lots of puppies on the ground. She has had 2 very good matings and at the right time as per Progesterone tests. At this stage I am wondering if I really want to continue with her line even though she is a very good specimen of her breed. She is not the only female of her sire line with fertility problems. Now I am thinking what if I do eventually get her pregnant will her daughters be the same? Do I really want to continue putting myself through this heartbreak over and over again? I don't know that I do.!!!

Not a Good Day for us, Sorry edgesmum. BB this was a litter due 24/6/11 My other litter is till due June 9th. This is the first time I have ever bred 2 bitches at the same time (I guess I must have had a bad feeling about Bella failing to get pregnant AGAIN ). Razz looks to be having 3 puppies from her ultrasound I only hope that there are 2 girls in there.

Nothing wrong with the boy, he is in high demand at the moment and consistently producing well.

Congratulations Piper 9 puppies well done Jazz

Congratulations Cavalblaze on your upcoming litter. I am so disappointed for the 3rd time. I think that it is time for a specialist visit before next season ~~~ Did progesterone testing so timing was perfect, she was at peak, only just saw the stud and she was showing him the way NOT that needed directions  We did bloods and swab prior and all was fine. She is not a maiden, she whelped a litter of 9 / 2.5 years ago, but she has had very long seasons since.

Unfortunately for us ~~~~ confirmed that there are NO PUPPIES FOR THIS GIRL for the 3rd time in a row..
-
poodlesrule ~~~ what a difference a week makes, your girl is really expanding. Yes don't worry once it starts it all comes back in a rush, we never forget the stress of whelping, even when it all goes well.

Thanks edgesmum, Good luck for your ultrasound next week. I also have another girl booked in for an ultrasound next Friday but so far I am not seeing any signs that she could be pregnant but I will be keeping my fingers crossed :crossfingers: I looks as though there are a few of us hoping and waiting for a good result next Friday, so fingers crossed for all

Pregnant Bitch Who Is Very Fussy With What She Eats.
Fordogs replied to oakeydoak1's topic in Breeders Community
What was her appetite like before she was mated? It sound like she has always been like this, am I correct? Is she getting any extra vitamins, yoghurt, cottage cheese, sardines, even try a good quality tin puppy food, goat milk, I have been known to even give TIN CAT FOOD under such circumstances. I have a female that also refused to eat everything that she would normally have scoffed when she was pregnant last time, she was a nightmare, I was so worried but she survived, delivered 8 healthy puppies and still refused almost everything that I offered for another few days. Good Luck with her. -
3 poos a day sounds fine, mine would do 3 or 4 a day.
-
I have also whelped litters for a friends who were not able to have time off work but at their home not mine.
-
Congratulations :D Yes I know how you feel, I also have size in my breed and I keep on working to keep it down V V V . It's always hard to take when your lovely puppy grows into an over sized adult.

I believe that they used to be called The Johnson Red Nose Pitbull Terrier if I recall correctly.

Thanks for your replies, I have placed the order and gone with FedEx, still good savings. My only worry was that if customs added charges then that would cancel out the savings and then I would have ordered from here in Oz.
-
Thanks for that mirawee.

Has anyone bought dog items from the USA? I have just placed an order online for items valued at $148.00 (a saving of $70.00 due to the exchange rate) but Fedex charges are $48.00 and I have been told that there could also be Aust customs charges ( that would hardly make the whole deal worth doing). Fedex charges almost cancel out the savings. Has anyone had to pay Aust customs on orders?

I don't do that many shows so that is rarely a problem but I do work in a veterinary clinic and I am very paranoid about that. I have spare shoes in the car, strip off in the laundry, throw work clothes in the washing machine and shower prior to going anywhere near the puppies, ( and that is when we don't have any isolation patients ). If we have a parvo case in hospital the rest of the staff are very understanding and have never asked me for assistance with dogs in Isolation when they know that I have puppies or even if I have puppies due.
