Wow More breeds with stripes, are there any others?
-
Soo beautiful, mum looks very tired in that photograph. Every day we learn something new about these wonderful creatures that share our lives.

Amazing zebra stripes on a puppy, I would have been extremely worried and looking for the GINGER TOM CAT that got to my bitch  Simply beautiful, never seen that before, love the blue puppies.

Trisven, congratulations, Beautiful babies.

My just 6 month old GSD is doing all of those thing, yes a well behaved dog until 2 weeks ago then all H**l broke loose. She did have a go at the washing on the line but after a few reprimands she decide it was better to leave it alone, she has decided that it is lots of fun to do full laps around the house yard (we live on acres so she can go all the way around) I am terrified that she will run into a corner and do herself harm so when that starts she now goes on lead and we go for a walk/run, if it continues then she goes into the crate with a chew. She has also started to jump on me and I am working on that by turning away from her or taking a step sideways and she is getting better. She is still very good with (visitors and outside on walks) and sits before getting a pat. Toys are also good to have on hand when she starts getting out of hand get out a tug toy or a ball and play for 5 minutes. Peg all of the washing up high so that she can't reach it and never leave her outside alone when you have thing on the line , all of that flapping is just too hard to resist and it looks like fair game. Buy a crate, they can be life savers during puppy training, but don't use it as a punishment, get her used to going in the crate for treats and feed her in it. You need to watch her because you can't punish her for something that she did an hour ago you have to catch her in the act. Good luck and welcome to DOGZonline.

I used the hydrobath at work a few days ago and remembered why I hate it. I am not very tall and just getting to the plug in the bottom was horrendous, I have to, laugh just thinking about it, I almost fell in three times leaning over the side, bottom in the air, I must have been a terrible sight. So for me I think a lever action drain would be good and definitely a cutout side.

Yes Steve, I will either just go ahead and have the whelping box and everything else prepared or have her ultasounded close to the due date.
-
Hey, you are all giving me hope for my girl ( due Christmas day from mating ) she had an ultrasound at 28 days and vet said no puppies BUT she is a different shape so I will :crossfingers: and hope that he was wrong.

How frustrating would that be? Do any of those people offer to pay for your time or even petrol money??? Unbelievable. You should give them a bill.

Roundup here use after locking up the dogs for the night, dry by the morning so ok for the dogs.

lils mum thank you for that info. Very good news!!

What Would You Expect/do In This Situation
Fordogs replied to Topoftheheap's topic in General Dog Discussion
First of all did you check that the parents of your puppy were checked for all genetic conditions required before you bought it? May I ask what the problem with your puppy is? Many genetic conditions need to be checked prior to breeding, does your puppy have one of those? -
You say that JPS was done at 12 months??? I can't believe that, then Why are they trying to make people have it done at 22 weeks, ( I guess that they don't want to let owners think about it tooo Long or they might change their mind) :mad Everything that I have read says that the cut off is 22 weeks???????????
-
I have always received the service certificate when puppies are on the ground, stud fee paid, service certificate within a week, I have no problem with that. I would not use a stud if the owner required a puppy back instead of a fee, pay fee and if stud owner wants a puppy they can buy one.

So you think Cavs are vocal at dinner time you should try 5 GSDs, enough to wake the dead

I love all of those beautiful puppy pic, congratulations to all of the proud mums. Liz I love your singleton she is soo pretty (is she a keeper?)

Most of my adults are fed once a day at night but they also have a bone, beef, lamb or chicken frame every afternoon. I also have a 5 year old female that I can't keep weight on unless she is fed morning & night and 6 month old pup who is fed twice a day with a bone in the afternoon.
-
It's your worst scenario. just when you want your girl to look her very best. You have puppy buyers coming and you need for her to look the best and she has no coat, looks thin and just awful. Never mid I am sure you have photos of her looking her BEST.
-
Just my opinion, I would not send a bitch to a stud without first doing progesterone testing and knowing that she was well on the way up, one of mine actually went up to 6nmol/ then went back to 2 yes a PIA, she then took another week before she was ready. You could have a boarder for 7 - 10 days without testing.

tollersowned > Great to hear that your girl has been xrayed and by the sounds of it an excellent result. These vets who are extolling the value of JPS surgery are only interested in lining their own pockets they have no consideration for the dogs at all>> I would NEVER use a vet that even offers this procedure. I have no idea just how they even manage to keep their clients because if I was given that kind of spiel I would depart and not even allow the vet to vaccinate any dog of mine . I have also posted this in the Breeders Community as there was not much activity with the post here, so why don't you check the responses there? I think in order for pinning it would need a little bit more activity.

I also freeze water in cordial or other plastic bottles, my puppies also have a ride on mower tyre, a motorbike tyre and a 20 foot long tow rope, all great toys for chewers.
-
Sorry dannyBC. I have no idea as to what we can do to prevent these vets from misdiagnosing our dogs. Not sure as to whether the Veterinary Surgeons Board would listen. Maybe a petition of some kind? Maybe if enough of us protest about the number of times this is happening? Perhaps we could get DOGS NSW or the ANKC to listen. Any ideas would be welcome. We do need to work together but not sure as to how.

Good for you Casima. I am amazed at how many vets are now offering JPS. You are the first I have heard of in your area though.
-
Love Baby Wipes, they have so many uses.

Lils mum I don't believe that it was actually even sent away for evaluation It is only done as a reference and the procedure demands that it is done :mad . It has no value as it is too late for the puppy the xray is done the same day as surgery and desexing so it is too late to prevent anything. I have not heard of any of these PennHips done prior to JPS that are evaluated PROFESSIONALLY >>>>>>>>>>>>>> I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE THAT HAS HAD THEM EVALUATED >>>>>>>>> PLEASE
