Im surprised how quickly they came out to... Got mine in the mail last nite! So thank you for all your hard work that goes into making the pointscore work!

Tis the same vet we go to.. they seem quite reasonable.. and even managed to tame my cat I can introduce you to my MIL (to be) at a show one day, who breeds goldies, and should be able to point you in the right direction for hip scoring. There is a good repro vet in Toodyay (or so I've heard). I havent owned a breed requiring hips scored, or have no plans to breed, so cant help you sorry

Cost me $55 each way accompanied with Virgin from Perth to Melb - for up to 21kgs for dog+crate... which only came to 17kgs (7 kgs westie in a HUGE clipper crate) I think $140 isnt to bad for a larger/heavy breed

Cruise was taught manners from word go, and was a perfect student. Roxy was adopted by us when she was about 18months, she had some manners, but needed to learn to behave on a lead (we think she was a farm dog to start) and not to barge through doors. We have her walking on a lead nicely, and even at the point where she goes to the in laws, where the goldies rule the roost, and knock you over when they barge thru the door, and Roxy will still wait to be invited in!

Ha! This surprises me, Gosnells rangers can be soo slack..
-
Yep - Gosnells is strict as with the rules! No allowances what so ever... Just to do with their plannin scheme. I used Vetwest Canning Vale once, they tried getting me to sign up for pet insurance because I had a Westie and they are prone to skin issues, saying that, so did my vet in Midvale... Also Vetwest tried getting me to do surgery on a 12 year old dog that had a haematoma? on her ear, that could be easily drained afterwards I found out! Lucky i was wiser and made enquiries first! Congrats on the house RS! I used to live in Kenwick for 5 years and my brother lived in Thornlie. I actually think they are great suburbs if you're in an OK part. They're not too far from the city or highways or the train. We built a house in Forrestdale and moved there but I still miss some things about Kenwick (Like it's proximity to the airport when I have to make a 5am trip ) Glad you had fun camping RosieFT! Sounds like Rosie had a ball (actually I bet she had lots of balls ) Yeah bad joke. FWIW Thornliegirl, I used to take Kyzer to Applecross vet (I work in Applecross) but didn't find them that great for a pet owner. I think they're more of a breeder vet, repro and all that. I use Vetwest in Canning Vale and I'm quite happy with them really. Haven't had a bad experience yet anyway. My house is a 5 min walk to the train station, brilliant! I use VetWest Canning Vale too, fairly happy with them, except for the fact I paid them money to have Millie's microchip registered and they have failed to send the paperwork in! As soon as I get off my lazy butt, I will be going down there to give them a piece of my mind! Charging me double than it would have to send in the paperwork myself direct to AAR, and then not sending it 6 months later!

Rubystar I have a friend who works for the City of Gosi, I have asked her to clarify the rule for me... Will let u know when she gets back to me. Swan, you just apply, pay fee, i think letters get sent to surrounding neighbours, and if they dont have a prob you get the licence

Yep in WA - Its either Brian Pratt for me, or Rod... cant remember his surname, both top blokes and love having them steward!

What Ellz said.. My Westie I thought looked brilliant freestood, but an exhibitor showed me other wise with some tricks of the trade how I can present him better kneeled beside. I guess it depends on the dog, if a good neck is important in a whippet, I would be showing that off. Really you want to show off your dogs great traits!

Chiropractic, Bowen Or Acupuncture Therapy?
RoxyNHemi replied to raffikki's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Another happy to recommend Bowen, particually who Showdog uses (and her husband is great for humans ) I also have tried another lady when Tracey hasnt been available and shes just as good. -
If One More Person Asks Me...... Grrrr
RoxyNHemi replied to pixie_meg's topic in General Dog Discussion
I was at a show, and wheeling my West Highland White Terrier - groomed for the show, in his trolley and a child of an exhibitor in another group asked if he was a shih tzu x malt... I just chuckled and said no- he is a Westie, and went on my way -
Tch Miss Annabell Has Gone Over The Rainbow Bridge
RoxyNHemi replied to Gamby's topic in Rainbow Bridge
RIP Annabell -
Run free Flash The big ones certainly leave a huge hole, having lost 2 of the family danes in the past two years, I know the gap they leave.
-
I used to take my sunnies off at ringside before going in the ring... left too many there, and they were pinched, so now leave them on!
-
realised that it was only applicable for WA! Silly me

Yep Sporting Terrier Club of Vic show was brilliant last year!!

My Sweet Boy, With A Heart So Much Bigger Than His Size
RoxyNHemi replied to RoxyNHemi's topic in Rainbow Bridge
Thank you all so much for your thoughts. Cruise came home this afternoon, The professionalism (is that even a word!) by the cremation company was amazing. They came and picked him up Monday morning and brought him home today. I was thinking I would have to wait over a week. -
I would have gone 1 March (which is a Monday) so the shwos the following weekend I guess.... Unless you are in a lucky state that holds shows during the week from time to time! I see AsheyB's point too.. I guess the show sec shouldnt accept the entries if they think they are wrong..
