Well done RS, thats fantastic.. I have my own little brag, yesterday i showed a visiting standard poodle from SA 'Llewis' Ch Remkyn Dont Call Me Crazy, wse had a quick 5 minute practice before the show started and I went on to win Best of Breed, then BEST IN GROUP! He showed very very well, and I wish he was here all the time! Off to another show today!!!

We have alot of good american cockers here, they win all over the country. But yes I do think you will find it hard with a newer breed to the state. I thought of possibly getting a Foxhound at one stage, but the thought of being a one and only worried me. Grr... Hemi pooed in his crate early this morning, so was up at 6 to clean it up.. Considering I had to be up by 6.30 to go to the show today, I stayed up.. Anyways better finish getting ready. Will speak to you all later!

Hitting The Ring For The First Time

Be careful that these don't become habits. Better to train your dog the correct way from the start than to allow them to develop bad habits which you will have great difficulty getting rid of. Both my breeder and a professional Chesapeake handler in the USA told me to just teach him stand (like obidience) and wait till he is a bit older to teach him a stack because Chessies can be so hard headed about being lured into anything, they have to work it out for themselves or they will rebel. I have started the basics of hand stacking at home where it dosen't matter if he moved his feet back or sits, I just won't reward that behaviour. Also congratulation on Minor in Show!!!! I have two words - show stackers!!1 They are brilliant for teaching dogs how to stack -

I have the stuff on the right... dont think the green seeweady looking stuff would work... i would be reluctant to use! -
I know of a large breed that has been shown on one recently for a few different reasons, and as far as they could find there is no rule against it.. it just isnt very sightly

Hi there, If anyone knows someone that is going Perth to Brisbane can you please let me know? I need to send a small crate back, and the costs to send it are ridiculous, was hoping someone can take as a part of their luggage. No urgency Cheers Sarah

Contact Vicki Cottrell of Mistivale Poodles in WA, i beleive she has a winery, but dont know if she lives on residence with it.

I know someone who is looking at selling a Clipper crate, will find out the size and get back to you.. I think it may be a smaller one tho I love my Clipper crates, I have two, a small and a larger one!

Well kinda yes and no, you will get judges that tend to pick creams, and you will get some that go on conformation and mix it up, and you get some that go for golds, the sire to Andy (who I show) has just gotten his Grand Champion and he is gold, Wookie (andys father) picked up numerous groups, a Best in Specialty and an All Breeds Best in Show along the way, his sire Rebel also had picked up a number of groups and was a consistent Class in group winner, he too was gold.. Like others have said there have been streaks of creams, but a decent gold will do its fair share of winning - in my opinion MIL did try do a breeding recently, unfortunately the bitch got Pyometra, and she has to be steralised, and she was her only bitch that she could use (the rest are old retirees). Thanks, Hemi is just the best... even if I am a bit biased! Someone told me that Hemi in Maori means James!

I ahem, work for Kalamunda Shire.... From my understanding, when I asked about it, you get an application sent out to you, which you need to get the neighbours to sign to say they dont have an issue, send it back, and rangers check that there is sufficient yard to house and then hopefully its approved, I beleive maximum is 6 dogs, but dont quote me.

Fingers crossed you get what yyou want GR... Goldies are lovely dogs, and especially puppies, they are such bundles of joy!!! I am currently showing the darkest goldie in the ring at the moment... He is from a cream bitch to a gold dog, and he is sooo much darker than his father! Hes not mine, the mother in law bred him.

Winpara, there are some fantastic photos in there!!!

His ears will move a bit while hes teething, unless they are REALLY wrong, I dont worry about taping until 12 weeks, or I havent done with 2 of my westies and they have ended up with lovely ears. Is he a showdog or is it purely cosmetic?

I went to Better Pets and Gardens tonight, and got a 1.5kg bag of Nutro for $9... so I got 3!!! It was because the best by date was end of April!!! But still very good value, and I while im feeding Hemi 3 times a day Im sure I will go through it quick enough

I have to laugh My breeder of Cruise, has a website, but it shows her 2 other breeds.. nothing about Westies My breeder of Hemi, only has his dogs on DOL... I find DOL a very good tool for finding out info as it usually has pedigrees and photos on it. However back to the question, I HATE sparkly things that follow your cursor and silly music!

oooh I have that one on video!! - you're just lucky I dont have the technology to get it onto the pooter!! ;) Also on video I have me showing a dog circa 1985 in too small yellow t-shirt and too big "bubblegum" jeans - Fortunately no photos but it is quite the look But then I was a dorky 11yo and showing was a lot more relaxed in those days!! Wearing a suit would have made you look out of place I think we need a video night at Winparas house!

Aww Labrat, Im so sorry to hear about Sally, my thoughts are with you. It does eventually get better. It is amazing how the other pets know. One of my not so affectionate cats decided that he would be affectionate towards me after Cruise passed.. It was amazing.
