  1. Um - what happened to Angel????? I was the same but at the same hope she recovers and is back to normal soon!
  2. You go through Gidge to get to Toodyay :D Gidge townsite is a bit closer to Midland than Toodyay but not by much. Although the "suburb" of Gidge starts soon after you get to the top of the hill We are probably half way between Toodyay and Midland townsites Once you get past Noble Falls while driving to Toodyay wave to us RnH We are somewhere off to the right a few km from Toodyay Rd Got it! Haha, im just off Toodyay Road at Talbot Road, very bottom of the hill.. I will move up there.... hey im closer to it then those out in Southern River direction
  3. How far is Gidge from me??? Im in Stratton, I have been spending a bit of time out in Parkerville as the BIL is building there - and I think its just a little bit on from that? Im heading out to Toodyay this weekend, we are camping at a friends place for the night... I LOVE Toodyay One day I will move country
  4. Hi Lucys Mama, Sorry I have just noticed your query. As a pet, they are easy to keep clean. if they get muddy/dirty just wait till it dries, then brush through the coat and it should just brush out... Mine get a bath every 4-6 weeks. My first Westie Cruise (deceased now) was used as a junior handlers dog on a number of occaions, but I had Cruise trained well in ring craft, so it really depends how much effort the owner has put into training the dog. Yes, they do enjoy obedience and agility, its not so common with westie owners here in aust, but it quite popular in the US, I have trained both of mine basic obedience commands, I had intended to get into training and trial cruise, but he passed before i got the chance, but am in the process of working with my new boy. Both mine have run with the inlaws goldies, and been great. Hemi LOVES getting boisterous with one of the younger goldens, and both of them seem to know each others limits. Hemi loves any dog that will pay him attention. Would they enjoy obedience and agility? Are they suitable to live and play with larger breed dogs who are boisterous, but used to playing with tiny dogs? Absolutely no plans here for several years, but I do enjoy finding out about different beeds.
  5. Hope your little boy pulls through fine. Please dont punish yourself for this accidents happening, like someone said, its probably the move that has caused some disruptions.
  6. These people put enough effort into putting on a show for us, they deserve to enter. yes sometimes there are hidden adgendas with judges picked etc, but thats the way its going to be, if you dont like it, put up ur hand and be on committee and have ur input
  7. I was showing a work collegue a picture of the xolos (from zita photographys site) and she said what unusal but striking dogs! Another collegue was interested and that when we mentioned hairless he was coming to look at a pic of chinese cresteds, but he was intrigued by them too... I heard someone at the show on the weekend call the axalotos (?sp) cause they cant announce xolos.
  8. Well, I have to make goals with others dogs, as I patiently wait.... or maybe not so patiently wait for a bitch to come in season, be mated, take to the mating, be in whelp, and puppies grow to pick me a stunner.... I hopefully might be able to pick up 2 groups with the dally I show so she can get her grand, she is nearing on enough points, but needs 2 more groups! Have fun most of all, and not get involved in all the other stuff, and caught up on the he says/she says hassle

  15. There was a Rottweiler with suspected parvo when I was at the vet on Wednesday . That was Midland area to. Parvo last week in the Bunbury Pound too I know I should probably know this already, but is Parvo a seasonal thing?? Nasty that its rearing its ugly head around the place! Rat Yes but is it Parvo or something else? Just a warning - not sure it is actually Parvo or a variation of it but a fully vaccinated 6 month old pet pup in the Armadale/Brookdale area has just been dreadfully ill with a haemorrhagic gastro-enteritis which started last Sunday - onset of symptoms was rapid and progressive (less than 24 hrs from looking a bit lethargic to catastrophically sick) - They nearly lost him and he is still in hospital. It was very sudden onset after his owner had been playing with a litter of 6 week old puppies across the road, which became ill just before the 6 month old and one pup from the litter died just before the half-grown pup showed signs of illness. Apparently the dam of the litter was allowed to frequent a nearby park and could have transmitted the pathogen back home to the litter. Two blood tests for Parvo in the sick 6 month old dog were negative but apparently Parvo was found in a poo sample - although one Vet commented that as Parvo is endemic in the dog population anyway a positive sample could be expected. Normally the presence of Parvo virus does not cause disease or creates only mild symptoms in vaccinated dogs. Whatever the infective agent is - corona virus/ a mutated Parvo virus or something else, it is really, really bad news. Be careful. Make sure all vaccinations are up to date - although that didn't help in the case of the older pup. I heard of a similar if not the same thing, my friend lost 3 dogs to the same thing in the space of about 3-4 months.. Story was he had older rott x and they got a baby rott, both get sick, old dog passes first, then baby. So they wait a few weeks, get a new rott x and loose that within a month. It was never confirmed as parvo, but another disease. Odd thing was, his partners 6 month old pug reguarly interacted with all these dogs and never got ill.... They also got told Rotts, are more susceptable (sp?) to Parvo or parvo like disease, first i had heard of it!!!
