I like being on the other end of the lead... Dont have any intention of becoming a judge....
-
Wow!!! Last year the same show was 39 degrees!!! Who won what pleasE?
-
very very true... thanks for that.
-
Thanks for that, it actually reassures me quite a bit... I was debating weather or not to just titre test him after his boosters..
-
Wow! A month I have decided, until I can get to the vets to enquire about getting Hemis booster done early I am reluctant to take him out... Apparently on Sunday there were 8 cases of Parvo/Gastro at Midland vet... Call me paranoid, but he only had his 6 and 12 week vaccs, and i dont know if they are fully immune until they have their booster at 15 months.

Thats very much like the one the Border Collie has!

no idea ring and ask rofl just placed an order with snazzypoochleads for a new show lead and a nice leather lead as well. i almost placed an order with snazzypooch.... unfortunately my boy turned out to be a petdog only and couldnt justify the money for a 'walking' lead.... Perhaps for next puppy.... The people I was showing a BC for brought one for their boy, it was gorgeous black and gold bling! On another note - I had puppy cuddles with baby westies last night... and I try to remember when my kids were that small...

So sorry to hear, Im sure the decision would not have been easy Im not sure what the issues etc are, but im not sure why anyone would flame you for making a consious decision that is not easy, but obviously the best for everyone...

People letting their dogs pee on any other property be that trolleys, crates, the rope poles, gazebo legs or heaven forbid someones legs. . I do have a pet peeve of this, at the end of the day, someone generally has to pick up the rope poles and put them away and I pitty them, and I dont like the waft of pee smell as I walk up the marshalling area... taken them to a tree or something natural out the back!!!

Can you start up a committee for Earthdog too?? Cause Im being lazy, what is Rally O??
-
I dont think AT the canine grounds, but yes, there has been a Rott breeder who has been putting a case together to figure out what areas the parvo has been reported in.

I recommend Paws Claws and Beaks Retreat, in Wattle Grove... My cats went there for 9 or 10 days, and was really happy with the service, and the conditions of the cats when they came home... They were quite well priced too

How sweet are those photos!!!! I have found that crating at night is almost the best thing since sliced bread! My boy came to me at 12 weeks trained to sleep in his crate, and although he had a few accidents - and I blame that on me, now I can put the kids to be bed knowing he is safe - and so is the house Ozjen perhaps you could use a solid crate - I use a vari style one, so then there is no outside for him to pee on....

Hot Weather And Keeping Dogs Outside
RoxyNHemi replied to RoxyNHemi's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am hopefully building next year, and will be having a dog room (complete with grooming area) behind the carport, that falls under the main roof, and aircon, and they will have access to that and outside. I wanted to leave them inside today, however I am going straight out to dinner after work and I dont think Hemi could be trusted inside for that long... I am going home at lunch to let them inside - as its only 10.20 and its just about to hit 35 degrees. I THINK they are adequately catered for to stay outside, they have plenty of shade, two big buckets of water, a clam shell pool full of water and a fan, but I just worry, if its too hot outside for me... how can I leave them out??? -
It's supposed to hit 39 degrees today in Perth and we havent even gotten into the middle of summer ... I was wondering what others do in hot weather with their fur kids??

I did correct my original post in post 39.. i perhaps should of amended my original post too so it wouldnt be brought up again... I was quick to comment and actually didnt think about what I was saying. This is my post #39 Sorry yes, my terminology was incorrect, it is infact a crossbreed. When I said they are horrible, I know alot that are snappy and unsocial. I grew up with Shih Tzu, and love their temperaments.

Facebook As A Dog Show Networking Tool
RoxyNHemi replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I HAD facebook, until two days ago I deactivated my account. It is changing the way we communicate with people, especially when there is an issue - it seemed deleting a friend of facebook IS the way to end the friendship instead of the good ol pick up a phone or catch up and chat about whatever the issue is! I originally signed up so I could keep in touch with friends and family, and so we could share photos.. It went on to add lots of show related people, locally, interstate and internationally. It was good for seeing different things around the world. I have now spoken to many westie people all over the world and think its great! I have used it to share brags/wins... I have also seen people put up the wrong kind of information about wins, and other rubbish I have also noted one particular judge that was coming to WA deleting WA people off their FB page, which I can see would of been a good idea... I wonder how many people have tried to add them again after their judging appt.... At the end of the day, most of the judges will do their own thing, who are we to say who they can and cant have on FB and that that is going to influence their opinion... -
Congrats on the pregnancy news Emery.... My mum had 3 kids (my older bro, me and my younger sis) I am the only one out of all of us that has continued to show dogs.. My brother has NEVER been interested in showing - and ended up breeding his rott x ... I have no intention of breeding but love showing and my sister HATES showing... she gave it a shot - and was sometimes forced to do it, but now shes old enough she steers clear LOL!
