This is awesome. Go Mr Pie. Josh (my OH) was going to try and teach Roxy (our staffy x) but she has been showing signs of having a bit of arthritis, so I am reluctant to put her into agility where it could inflame it. Make sure he appreciates his hands!! Josh came to a few lessons with me, and came to a trial and he tells me off for pointing instead of using my whole hand LOL -

My lesson on Saturday was amazing..... I learnt so much and am loving trying it out. Got home and realised I forgot to mention my weave problems... Pulled them out and did a quick 10 minute session... At the end of it, Hemi was Weaving 4 in a row... now to add more! -

Way to go! :D See you there - I entered the little black ninja :) Haven't trialled her since the States so I'm really looking forward to getting back out there again with her :D So are you saying you're not going to enter the jumping anymore? You're entered now, why not just give it a shot? :) No obedience for me at the Royal. Did it one year and Millie literally got stage fright when she realised she had people staring at her, so I am not ready to face it again just yet Well Hemi decided to show me that we CAN do jumping (and with speed) last night at training. We had a course set up, and he ran it brilliantly. I just really need to play with him lots and just keep running.... Or instructer has dropped us to 200 for the time being to try to get Hemis drive to really kick in, and once he gets it, will raise him back to 300. RS - I am having some private lessons, and will see how they get us along regarding actually competing at the royal. I will actually LISTEN to my instructor as to if we are ready or not.. I entered a trial a little while ago and it was a MAJOR failure. -

So our training isnt coming along too fast at the moment. Ive hit a standstall with weaves (Im teaching Susan Garratts method). he is doing some great entries, and getting them when they are on the angle but once I move to straight he just doesnt get it. Our instructor at classes has come up with a method to hopefully help Hemi get some drive. I have enrolled in some private lessons, first one is Saturday. I cant wait. I have entered Jumping at the Royal, but may just go along for CCD. -

Hi All Hope your training is going well... We had our 'Graduation' night last night at Agility. Hemi and I passed, and we are skipping Adult Foundation 2 and going straight up to Elementry! This was us doing the dog walk, tunnel, scramble then a jump. https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=10201635686918123&set=vb.1357381184&type=2&theater Hope the link works. -
Thanks!

Thats awesome! Well done AD. Well done RS for your passes OK - I stewarded for a agility trial on the weekend.... Didnt realised how hard it was to get a Q!! I thought if you had penalties, that just took marks off, not realising that it makes you not Q. I did enjoy it anyhow and cant wait to get in there and give it a shot! Last night we had two mini courses set up. a jumping one and an agility one. Was fun and Hemi did well. Our trainer said Im picking up my handling skills well, and Hemi is picking up the idea well, it will just be his speed that will let him down. Im aiming to get a kilo off him to try and help him be a bit more agile. -
Hi All Some people were recommending a puppy preschool out Armadale way a while back, i cant find the info tho. Can anyone shed the light please?

This made me laugh.... I wonder if I fall into the ex conformation type.... Hemi is a failed showdog so I am determined to get some titles on the other end of his name :) Hilarious! "We refuse to believe anyone actually enjoys Border Collies." I actually said after watching one of the BCs on Tuesday night, can I have one of them LOL! -

Soo excited! We got taught rear crosses tonight. Hemi at first didnt really like the idea and kept trying to heel! (Good boy secretly) but within 5 mins of intense training over one jump he conquered it. We then had a mini course of 8 jumps and incorporated a rear cross, wheel and a front cross and Hemi nailed it. -

Super photos DD. Last night after our Agility class, the club held an auslink trial. It was fun to watch and I look forward to one day doing it with my boy!. I was going to give it a shot, but my trainer recommended against it as we havent learnt sequencing yet.... which we are going to start on next week :) -
My training is going to have to jump up a notch... Have just entered Hemi in a CCD trial and Rally Advanced.... I was going to enter him in the CCD as a NFC but would be sooo upset if in the very unlikely chance we got a pass and we couldnt use it, so have just entered it, will give it our best shot, but not 100% sure we are ready... Am working on training one or two new signs for Rally A at a time. have got the sit, down, sit one down pat now.... onto the pivots LOL

Just between us, im a bit of an overachiever and like getting ahead of the game :) ETA - I have just started agility training and am looking at entering Hemi in JD at the Royal -
Rally Novice is on lead, and I found it easier to teach Hemi then CCD. I pretty much self taught Hemi (it probably shows), all I did was look at the Rally Manual and pick up what I had to teach (RN only requires the first 30 signs). Rally is good as you can talk and praise the whole way through from my understanding, CCD is stricter, you cant talk as much, you give the command, and the dog has to follow. Again I have looked at the manual online and am debating entering a trial soon and giving it a shot.

Not necessarily Tassie Well, I guess I should have said - in front of in terms of where the dog is going. Or do you have a secret move, Vickie :) not a secret move, but I do have a Front Cross collection cue, and I do expect my dogs to remain in collection until I get to where I need to be. Occasionally (ideally not often) that means that I am behind when I give it & they are forced to move around me to take the next extension cue. This sounds confusing! Im luckly I have a slow 10kg Westie so dont have to worry about him heading out infront! -
Maybe this could be my 2014 goal.. it would be nice for my boys breeder to see him in action too! Dont know if it is a too unrealistic goal as ww have just started training :/

Being Lazy and cant be bothered pulling out the rule book.. What is it called when you send the dog over the jump from your left, then cross in front of them and send them over the next jump on your right side??
